Hello everyone, while I was nosing around on the web looking for information relating to my draconic chart and NN at the Aries Point I came across this article: www.starcycles.com/pages/declinationsarticle.htmland then I wrote an email to its writer, Georgia Stathis, asking her opinion regarding the upcoming NN return to the AP. This afternoon I received a reply, part of which I thought I'd share with everyone here: "This year and next year's Nodal return to Pisces, your Nodal Return, always suggests the opportunity to get back on your vocational path. However, this particular Node (where the eclipses occur as well) is being stressed (you are being challenged) by the transit of Pluto which is squaring the Nodes. Look to March, June, September, December of this year for those changes to start 'percolating'" sounds exciting! Joy, pm

Primamateria, That is a neat article. It explains several different things.....the extreme Out of Bounds, the Aries Point , the Stand Still. "The Void" in relation to the out of bounds......Now I get a much better feel for these things and the Avatar points (will need to read up on that subject more so ...avatar points). But I can see why this would be of such interest to you esp. with the NN hitting your NN/AP sq. to the GC/Pluto. Talk about a Cosmo Girl! Of course, astrologers always bring us back down to earth a bit ( but there was an interesting set up I had this last year. Kim explained it as a demi-return. The trans. nodes were in opposite position to my natal nodes and we had an eclipse as well. She stated people from the past might pop up. Someone I had known seven years ago called and offered a job (yes, I'd put in the call first, but I hadn't known who I was calling!) All in all fortunate things have come to pass, putting me on a new road toward as you state, "vocation". I saw other people during that time as sort of seeking to hold on and I imagined the nodes as in a bit of a tug of war - between past and future. Like two wheels spinning in contradiction to themselves until the eclipse and then viola! That's the best way I can explain it. Jade

Hi Jade!
thanks for letting me know that your experience with the nodal cycle has been positive. I like the way you put it as a tug of war between past and future.
That article mentioned that the nodal weirding started last year - too true - a boy who I'd been wildly infatuated with in my teens (and hadn't heard from in 18 years) showing up out of the blue (very scorpionic affair), my estranged father suddenly offering me work, rediscovering long-lost creative talents through Uni - it all relates back to the eclipse cycle...I don't know what else could possibly happen. But I hope its good. I have some pretty huge decisions to make, thats for sure.
Oh Pluto...lol I am a Cosmic Girl, a Superfreak. ;D
avatar points do sound fascinating...
bless you! pm

Prima, that's a great article--interesting thread. And yes, Jade, those Demi-returns can be quite potent times! I wonder if everyone realizes that they will ALL be having a Draconic nodal return as the ascending Node moves to the Zero Degree Aries Point? The chart itself will be the 'same' (though different angles for different locations) but the planets will 'fall' around the natal Draconic chart in different ways, and the Natal Tropical Horoscope. I'm going to do a short article on it for my new (has anyone seen the transformation on my main pages?) web site--it's evolving into an Asteroid-Astrology-Cosmology News Paper! I'll give some ideas in the 'blurb' on how to work with this 'Draco-Nodal-Return'. Warmly, Kim

Kim, I hope you're still going to do your "blurb" on this! It would be most interesting.... Jade

Dear Kim and everyone...
Yes, I hope Kim is still planning on writing about this Nodal return to the AP and the Draco starting point! Personally, I have natal Saturn located nearby with natal chiron a few degrees away!! And with transiting Pluto squaring this general area at the moment, I am wondering what possibilities to look for. The energies of the node are still a bit fuzzy for me !(OK-Yes, tr Neptune square is alive and active for me....aarrghh...will anything ever be clear again?? Ha,ha)
The node can be very potent I feel. Just this week, my brother's girlfriend had her transiting node conjuncting her natal Moon and her mother passed on.
Thanks!

does anyone use nodal return charts?
i ask because nobody really mentions these -- i've tried to do some research on the web but have found zip.
on may 17, 2008 i will have my north node return.
some interesting things --
• nn/chiron/neptune are all conjunct in the 1st house of the chart
• the 1st natal planet to rise to the asc is venus
• the asc of the return falls in my 4th house
• there's a lot of activity involving the node -- NN/chiron/neptune all square a sun/venus conjunction clustered right on the IC, and trine mercury in the 4th right on the 5th cusp, and they also trine the moon in the 8th right on the 9th cusp
anyways, i just was wondering is anyone uses these charts, and what they might say...!
thanks all, chrissy

Yes, Nodal Returns can be extremely insightful, as long as you keep the context within the nature of ‘what’ you are returning. (Mars return for work and energy cycles, Venus return for values & relationships etc) The Nodes are about creating balance between the points they represent—Sun (purpose and individuality) Moon, (inner world) and Earth (grounding in ‘reality’) The nodes have a FACINATING cycle—they have 18.618 days in a ‘nodal day’, 18.618 years in a ‘Nodal Year’ AND 18.618 months in each sign of the Zodiac! You get your nodal returns at about 19, 37 and 56 and the demi-returns at 9.25, 28, and 46.5 (approx) Using the nodes as return charts can create a strong visualization of ‘what you have done so far, where it has meaning, how it is balancing your divergent qualities and where you might be headed with it. Melanie Reinhart has some great insights and information into the nodes—you can get transcripts from her lectures from Midheaven Books (CPA volume 8-‘Incarnations’ is very helpful!) www.midheavenbooks.com/If you want, you could look at your LAST nodal return and get a feel for what you have lived out so far…then apply this to potentials in the next one. Post them with your natal, if you like and we can all jump in! Thanks for bringing up this important topic! Kim

dear kim, thanks for that great link! the nodes ARE fascinating. here is my natal, and also my nn return for 19 & 37...i looked at both, and i noticed a couple things. for age 19, the NN is in the 10th house. this would indicate a good portion of my growth from age 19 to 37 comes through career/profession, or from growth that is very public/visible, right? i think this makes sense, i spent a good deal of time in the past finding a career that made me happy. after college i flitted about for a while, working in pro photolabs & doing some photo assisting. then after a while i decided to do some substitute teaching to see if id like to go back to school and get my teaching certification so i could teach art. that didnt fly, and so i went back to school and took some graphics classes and had a few crappy jobs, one of which was in a publishing house. finally, about 5 years ago (when i was 30) i found a job at a local college in the graphics dep't and ive been here since. i had lots of jobs before i found the one that made me happy! the planet groupings are interesting in the nodal return for age 19. venus, uranus, saturn, neptune are all in the 8th house. so during this time period relationships are linked with sudden breaks, confusion...and issues of commitment? this is all experienced very intensely (8th house) and probably causes major psychological transformation (wow!). then there's the sun, moon, mercury, mars, pluto and the vertex all in the 6th house. i guess there's some kind of emphasis on developing problem-solving ability, practicality, organization in all areas of my life -- basic ego, emotional (domestic) life, in my mental processes, in the way i take action, and in my ability to transform. all these planets in the 6th might indicate an interest in health, too. this is interesting because i gained a lot of weight after college, and eventually i weighed in at around 250 #s (i was a size 22). around 5 years ago, when i got that job i wanted so badly (and that i still currently have), i decided to do something about it. i signed up for weight watchers and over the course of a little over a year i lost 75 #s and now im a size 12. im still working on losing that last 20. i am unsure about my nodal return chart for age 37. the nn/neptune/chiron are conjunct in the 1st house, perhaps my growth will be more inner, spiritual during this period? the sun/venus are conjunct on the IC cusp...im guessing home issues will become important. or my deepest feelings & thoughts are affected by venus (relationships, art)/sun (basic ego) matters. anyways, thank you!

Chrissy, I think your interpretations are both poetic and meaningful. You have some wonderful insights!
In the next Nodal return, we have your natal 5th house coming to the foreground. Do you have any kids?
I think you are on track with a feeling of spiritual exploration. That Neptune Node is very strong, and trine the Moon! Your psychic sensitivity is going off the scale here! The Node says 'use it for the betterment of the community, the world'.
The 'trail of depositorship' of the N. Node leads to Mercury and to the mutual reception of Uranus and Neptune...Will you be writing or teaching these insights and understandings?
The trail of ‘depositorship’ of the S. Node leads to Venus...conjunct the Sun. I think partnership will play an important part in balancing all this!
Other comments? What else can we see here?
Kim

Hi Chrissy, The moon on Spica during your Nodal Return must be a good sign Interesting to note this is the degree of Vertex in your last NN return. There is that 6th/8th theme again. peace, Primamateria ps I am in the process of making my nn charts too, will post them later

Hi everyone, so here are the NN return charts for the last return and the upcoming return in June this year. I was going to post these yesterday but got stuck on the 1987 return, and decided it was probably best not to go too deeply into what happened that year - dangerous at this point! Needless to say, whatever lesson or task there was in that cycle, I was too silly a girl to really take it on. - the first thing I notice is that the Ascendant is in the degree of my natal moon, and the second that the moon itself is quite close to the position of natal asc. A bit spooky considering also that this is all happening at the peak of the lunar standstill season. Other things relating back to my natal chart are Venus in the degree of natal Mercury and Vertex in the degree of natal Venus...Jupiter is also opposite natal sun and Saturn square natal sun (10 taurus). Last but not least, I note the lack of planets in Earth signs... The node is not aspecting a great deal of the chart - squaring Pluto (and therefore GC) - but its interesting to me that it's applying a trine to Mercury in tenth.... the node being in 6, and the 'vocational nature' of the nn return in general, I'm getting the idea that this return is all about getting on with the job of relating to the world in a way that reflects who I really am... and most importantly getting an actual career moving. From the nodes aspects alone, the third, sixth and tenth houses are the keys to understanding this return. Eek! this is beyond my level of skill. things I don't understand - there is a lot of retrogradation in this chart. Everything below the 'horizon' that can go retrograde, has gone retrograde...So on one hand the chart seems to indicate an outward expression, but planetary retrogradation speaks of internalisation. I'm confused about that. Maybe I shouldn't be, considering I have the same planets Rx in my natal chart. I am missing something important. also; what does it point to when a planet shows up in a chart in the degree of a natal planet - as Venus in the degree of Mercury... is this like substituting one type of energy for another? hmmm. I have my homework cut out for me! joy, prima

Hi Prima,
I'm off to work in a minute so I can't go into your questions yet...I do think we need to discuss Rx planets in detail though. I don't find them particularly introverted at all (remember, an Rx planet is closer to earth, if anything, it intensifies the action the planet describes!)
As with all returns, it must be understood within the context of the natal. That IS what makes it personal, otherwise, it's just a moment in time, a transit chart.
Let's reflect on this return BACK to your natal to get the most meaning out of it!
More soon.
Kim

Hi Kim and everyone, (I've pasted my natal at the bottom of this message, for clarity) Ok. I am a bit depleted at the moment due to all the drama around here lately, but finally getting to the point where things are making sense. I suppose that the most prominent feature of my natal chart is the stellium in the fourth house of IC, Pluto Rx, Jupiter Rx, SN, Uranus Rx. Much of my life/energy has been exhausted just trying to overcome my wierd and traumatic childhood, and the mostly negative ideas of myself I've bought into as a consequence of it all. Rescripting it has helped over the past year or so... as for the NN return chart I think all the southern half retrogradation, along with the 12th house SN is a clear message to let go of the past, and let go of outdated paradigms for living and believing. I'm told that the mission of a Pisces NN is to learn to 'let go'... I suppose the whole work/career issue for me has been intellectualised over and over, which is obviously not working for me. aw, I'm having trouble with this. thinking is probably the whole problem! back with more later, pm
