Monday's eclipse was in my 12th house, square my natal Venus, opposite Ceres, trine my Chiron/Eros conjunction and sextile both my NN and Pars Fortunae.
It has been a whole month of amazing transformations and realizations, but perhaps one of the most significant is I came to an understanding of my "bottom line"--what is the most important to me if and when the relationship (Libra) with C lurches forward.
The understanding has me at peace for the first time since I fell in love with this person almost 2 years ago. The understanding coincided with some improvements in my values, both emotional and financial (NN and Pars Fortunae in my second house) and in some improvements on both those topics with my marriage (we are both heavy 8th housers--sounds like we have a drinking problem, huh.)
Rather complicated to explain--after all, the eclipse did take place in my 12th house--but things are crystal clear to me now.

And don't forget to look at the effects of the eclipse on significant composite charts!
As I mentioned, my husband and I had a major epiphany, readjustment, resolution and CONSIDERABLE energy around joint finances, issues of trust, etc. and the eclipse took place directly opposite our composite Sun/Mercury conjunction in 8th house Aries! It was also directly square our Eros/BML in the fifth house. While I would love to say things got hot and heavy between us, that energy manifested in taking care of some big things with the children, another fifth house concern.
There were significant connections to the progressed composite, too. Interesting!

Hi everyone, hope all's well.
This eclipse was in my fourth house, exactly opposite my natal Venus and exactly conjunct my SR Jupiter, and I think is quincunx my natal sun at 10 taurus... thankfully I haven't really had any urge to clear out my cupboards, and I've had the week off from caring for my children so that I could focus on my Alchemy course. I've spent most of the time 'alone' but not 'at home', and have very much focused on the present rather than ruminating on the past.
However!
Something I've been digesting for a while is the question of 'eclipse cycles'. Mostly it's on my mind because of the 18 years between the last time I spent any time with Scorpio Childhood Sweetheart (who I've now come to think of as 'my Pluto transit') and the sudden email from him and subsequent 'start of something' (something very strange) in early June this year. It is almost like my 18-year-old soul is visiting me. I've been really stuck on this person who really challenges me in a number of ways, but doesn't probe or penetrate who I really am. This is hard work for me to either understand or let go of.
The eclipse brought another intense encounter with him - which at first I thought of as a positive breakthrough but now realise is only another repeat of earlier stuff on his part. Anyway, I won't bore everyone with the details but suffice to say things are getting clearer in the shadow of the eclipse, and hopefully it should be fully resolved by the time the lunar eclipse and Psyche/Eros opposition conjunct Pluto is over (should be interesting because he and I have our natal pluto in the same degree - square the degree of this transit - and psyche and eros opposite on the aquarius/leo axis and eros and psyche opposite on the aries/libra axis - both of these oppositions contacting each other's natal moon). **sigh** I have to remind myself to breathe...
Ok, getting to the point; the eclipse cycle or 'nodal cycle' is 18.6 years and the events surrounding myself and this Other are enclosed by the cycle - I am thinking that there is something important here and I'd love to hear from anyone who has had a similar experience or who knows anything about the likely significance of the lunar/nodal cycle in terms of soul evolution.
in peace, PM

ps. I just checked - on the 4th October 1986, during the eclipse at 10 libra, eros was at 3 aquarius (my vertex) and psyche at 28 leo...both pluto and venus were in Scorpio with mercury in the last arc minutes of Libra. Interesting.

Hello, my name is Michael and I've been a longtime lurker and admirer of this site (I've studied astrology for about 12 years now)...all of your insights have been nothing short of invaluable and have really broadened my scope, especially in regards to asteroids (Kim, I look forward to checking out your published works!)...I have to admit, this impending Lunar Eclipse on the 17th is what finally compelled me to post...it will be occurring at 24 degrees Aries, which is the exact degree of my MC (I have a Leo rising at 3 deg.)...having been in an existential rut of sorts for about two years now (since I graduated college and for the better part of trans. Saturn's run through my 12th, where it traipsed over my Cancer Venus and Sun), I've been wondering when the winds of change would begin to blow in my direction... Now that Saturn is in my first, things are beginning to look a lot brighter oddly enough...I definitely feel that the previous two year chapter is coming to a close and it's reflected in my Solar Return chart this year (the grand fire trine of this past July figures prominently)...getting back to the topic at hand: the full moon Lunar Eclipse is not only sitting right on my natal MC...it will square my Sun exactly (at 24 cancer)...it will also be conjunct my Progressed Moon at 24 Aries(!), thus plugging into a Kite formation in my progressed chart (the Prog. Moon trines my prog.Venus/Sun/Jupiter in Leo, Neptune in Sag., and opposes Pluto in Libra...and it trines my progressed asc, which is at 24 Leo!)...as if that's not enough, it will be conjunct my Solar Return Mars at 23 Aries, which is involved in that grand fire trine (with Venus, Pluto, and Mercury) in my SR chart...on a similar sidenote, transiting Jupiter will be at 28 deg. Libra on Oct. 17, the exact degree of my SR asc! I currently live with my father whose asc. is 24 Libra (my IC), which means he will likely be affected as well...Needless to say, I'm sitting up and taking notice during this eclipse cycle! How should I prepare myself for this upcoming event?! Should I be worried?! Obviously, I have no objectivity when it comes to myself and simply don't know how to interpret all this activity...it's like a storm heading right for me and my astro. charts are ground zero...I'm not all that familiar with lunar eclipses, so I'm definitely at a loss for perspective! If any kind soul out there could offer me some insight or revelations, that would be much appreciated!!! This was my first post and I look forward to participating in this astrological community that you have here! [my birth info if you're interested: July 17, 1979 Tarzana, Ca. (US) 6:44 a.m.]

Dear Michael,
Welcome to Kim's forum. I am in a period when I can't take the time to write as much as I would like to (Saturn crossing the 10th house and going well, but....)
One of the most valuable things I've learned from Kim is to look at what each planet/asteroid WANTS and NEEDS by sign, house and aspect, and then that becomes a base for more conscious choices on your part. It becomes more possible to live out the positive characteristics of the energies.
So, there is no need for worry. But also remember that some things just take time. I am in the year of my Chiron return (I like that so much better than saying I'm almost fifty.....) and I am just now manifesting the more positive ways of expressing a grand cross in my natal of Saturn-Pluto-Mercury-Mars overlaid with a grand trine of Mars-Venus-Neptune.
Kim also stresses that the aspects act as "table legs." Where you pick up one energy, the others aspected will follow.
Hope this overview helps.
Blessings, Amoroso

Hi Michael and welcome, Maybe all of us with 24 Aries/Libra aspects (my IC/MC) should have an Eclipse Party -- a little merry-making in the face of the "storm"? ... ... This is a great place for instant feedback, so I'm sure everybody will be logging in with any noticeable effects of the eclipse. Cheers, J

Welcome to the forum Michael! Jamma, that sounds like 'fiddling while Rome burns!' I love it! First thing, Michael, forget about 'should'! There is NO should! I do understand the trepidation of an approaching eclipse though--It's an inheritance from the ancients, if nothing else. They did worry a lot about them! A more creative approach at this point is to, like Amoroso suggests, question what the activated planets NEED and WANT and HAVE to offer. In this case, consider what the Sun in Cancer in the 12th needs and wants and has to offer. Any ideas? Anyone? You do have a LOT going on . . . but just start with the main impact--the eclipse is on your MC square your Sun. (repeating the intension of the progressed moon at 24 Aries!) I suspect that portrays the strongest theme for you at this point in time. First of all, optimism! Look at your progressed su/ju conjunction! That's a real boost and I get the feeling you are going to have a big effect in the next year or so. The main theme is the MC (career, mission profession--social impact--social identity, honor, integrity) and how that links to your 'solar purpose'. What are you 'meant' to be? No matter what you're up to in that department, I suspect it's a question you'll be asking yourself. With the sun in the 12th, I know it has to be 'more than' a career. It has to touch the collective in some meaningful way. Your 'work in the world' is coming into sharp focus. What is it? What can you imagine it to be? Are you on a path that fills you with a sense of joy and enthusiasm? Now will be a time to change things if you are not. As Joseph Campbell always taught, "You need to follow your bliss." With the sun in the 12th (contra parallel Neptune) this is doubly true! You might find yourself in the 'public eye' at this time--sometimes propelled there in unanticipated ways. Issues of power and authority arise. How do you get on with your dad? What constraints are there that hamper 'what you do in the world'? You could be quite 'visible' at this time, which is a little prickly for all that water--nature loves to hide! Be ready. (for the attention) Because it is a lunar eclipse, realize that your 4th house is activated as well and the balance between your home life, sense of psychological wellbeing , emotional stability, the 'ground' you stand on and the 'world at large' will teeter. You'll get to know which area of life needs more or less attention--and the sun, your solar purpose, will be the key. (the balance beam) Issues of self-esteem come up (because the sun is so much about how we 'shine in front of others'.) You'll get a chance to see how your life supports who you are, or not! This is information! This can help you make important choices that will be coming up--those Y-nodes, those forks in the road where we get to go left or right or straight on! Use this Eclipse to get in touch with your path, your goals, your bliss and your healthy, creative relationships--to yourself and others. Think of it as a pause, a little ripple in time that allows you to glimpse the myriad possibilities that your life is so you can pick the one you want. Treat it with this kind of respect, this kind of awe and the results will be highly beneficial! Let us know how this goes! (It's happening on my Neptune at 24 Libra--and believe me--I am as subjective about what that might indicate as you feel about your conjunction!) Glad you've come out of the woods. Warmly, Kim

Do we read the lunar eclipse's transits to the progressed natal and progressed composite charts?

Hi Amoroso, I think it could act as a 'boost' of activation---but only if that progressed natal is making an aspect within the progression or back to the natal. I don't think we would notice too much if it was just hitting a degree that wasn't linking. As far the progressed comp goes--same thing. The best thing to do is consider what houses are involved and what aspects and notice what happened 30 days ago and these few days now (shadow of the Eclipse) and 30 days forward. Keep a diary. I’ve done several solar return readings recently that have 24 Libra rising—of course, the eclipse is within 5 degrees of your Asc-Desc axis anyway—quite significant. What is being activated in the progressed natal and p. comp again (remind me??) More on this soon— Kim

Hello Kim-How are you?? Hope you are doing wonderful-albeit crazy BUSY!!
Just a quick question...would you mind elaborating about the eclipse tomorrow at Aries 24 and how that would affect the Asc-Dsc axis-in what ways would you describe? Obviously 1st and 7th houses-you and relationships-How does this particular eclipse affect this?
Additionally, I would think if you had a Progressed Aries 22 rising-would that be affected in the same way? Do we treat the angles in the same way as a planet being aspected in this case?
Thanks!! Hugs- GemStar

Hi Kim and everyone, Yes, I guess I am whistling in the dark (accompanying Nero's fiddle?) about the eclipse ... It is on my IC, which isn't talked about much, but which I understand represents "foundation and security" ... Janet's Planets doesn't mention the IC re: the eclipse but lists 4th house issues that might be affected: Does this mean I can expect an "earthquake at the foundation of my being" Guess I'm more apprehensive than I thought ... any encouraging words would be vastly appreciated! Jamma

hi, the eclipse tomorrow is exact in Swansea at 13 minutes past 1 in the afternoon
the aspects I have are : my sun is sextile the eclipse sun/trine the moon 1.05 my mercury is sextile the sun / trine the moon at 1.52 my mars is conjunct the sun/opposite moon at 3.06 my jupiter is trine the sun / sextile moon at 1.00
my natal moon is also in aries so I think that I should expect a lot of changes from this eclipse although for good or not I don't know.
What I do know is that the closer this lunar eclipse is becoming the worst I feel, it feels as if I'm waiting for a bomb to go off and today I have felt the worst in ages, really stressed out and unable to relax in even the most relaxing activities! I've a thousand thoughts running through my head and maybe this has given me stress? I have a lot of ideas about things and changing myself/lifestyle so will see if any become real or not.
After the cancer new moon I could never have guessed what direction I was about to follow so can't guess now if I will be strongly affected or not?

Amoroso, thank you for your kind welcome and for providing me with some focus and a starting point!!! Kim, Well, I'm beyond overwhelmed by your thoughtful, illuminating, and highly intuitive response!!!...that was much more than I was anticipating (and then some!)...you've toched upon so many issues that are currently pressing for me...I'm definitely trying to find my place in the world and my old patterns and tendencies towards hibernation (12th house) are beginning to lose their luster as I'm becoming more anxious to find my edge and hone in on a proper career path that will be ultimately fulfilling for me (I still don't know what it is I'm "meant" to do with my life)...I'm not exactly sure if the eclipse will be externally climactic, but I'm hoping for a dramatic internal sea change and maybe it will reach its crescendo tomorrow...who knows?!...at any rate, you've absolutely taken the sting out of the event and replaced it with some much needed hope!...for me, the crux of the issue does indeed boil down to my natal MC/Sun square...it's that simple and I'm surprised I didn't take that into consideration sooner...I suppose I'll just have to wait and see!...Thanks soo much...again and again...
