Hi all ! ;D I was reading somewhere ( i think it was the magi society ) that juno conjunct neptune in synastry is the indicator of sexual love but not true and long-term love ..is that so ? I hope not ! Lol ! Others say juno shows commitment ..  Well, I met someone and my juno is conjunct his neptune.. his juno is conjunct my neptune, too ! I also noticed my psyche is conjunct his psyche, my venus is conjunct his venus ( on the same degree ), his eros and vertex conjunct my uranus and my eros opposes his uranus , etc.. Jupisat9, You need to read the threads on Juno! You can scan down the pages of the "Asteroid' board and the Synastry board to hear much about this major asteroid. You will also hear my view on the Magi information! I'm too swamped right now to launch on this anew, and there is so much info on this site already. thanks for that link, kim! very interesting read. i haven't drawn any conclusions about the magi perspective on juno yet, either... i find it fascinating reading, tho.
i have a scorpio juno conjunct my natal neptune & moon in the 2nd house (sandwiched between the two & opposing jupiter). interestingly, i have evaded committed relationships most of my life -- but i think not so much because i'm afraid of commitment as that i idealize the qualities that a relationship to which i'd be committed should have, and that has never emerged and so i rarely get close to wanting to settle down with anyone. in fact, i resonate strongly with not wanting to get married again. but there's definitely a strong "cinderella" aspect in my psyche, in the sense that "if i met that perfect person, that 0.0001% connection that might sweep me off my feet... i'd definitely marry".
i know i'm taking this into a natal rather than synastry direction, but the energies are certainly similar... perhaps juno & neptune in synastry mirror this kind of heavily idealized but evasive energy between two people.
i was reflecting on how juno's placement in my chart is so strongly highlighted and realized that my family is from the island in greece that is considered the birthplace of hera (juno). her temple is within walking distance from our family home, and i grew up passing by its ancient tall columns.
when i visit the island, i experience it very powerfully as highly idealized "roots", as my home, both familial and spiritual. and the island strongly resonates with the hera/juno vibe -- it is a lush, beautiful place, considered the "cinderella" of the islands, famous for its wines and fruits and beautiful women, and very much a place for couples to visit and get swept away in bindingly sexy, romantic energy. antony & cleopatra honeymooned there, in a castle whose ruins are but a few blocks & in full view of our family home.
the energy there really intoxicates me... it has my whole life. and the placement of juno in my chart seems to reflect that so aptly!
it would be interesting to see what synastry aspects would trigger my juno to surrender to commitment... i'll keep an eye out! LOL

Oh Samina, What richness and beauty to live near the sacred temple of Hera/Juno. Your description of the island is so alluring! It reflects your Moon/Juno/Neptune beautifully—I would love to visit such a place. You said it yourself with that idealized but evasive energy . Where are you going to find a deity amongst mortals? The one that makes you swoon will be much larger than life! Or, you'll seek companionship and forsake Moon/Juno/Neptune...though I doubt you will do that. It's very tricky, these kinds of configurations because they are so deeply imbedding in us and with the Moon involved, they represent well of nurturing we need for fulfilment. Having an 'ordinary' relationship doesn’t really cut it…if you know what I mean. I wouldn't be surprised if you do attract a god! When does Jupiter conjunct these placements? Has he already? Oh, lord... am trying to pick myself up off the floor from laughing so hard from your post, Kim, because you are *so* absolutely right on... LOL It's simply so true... I'm attracted to larger-than-life gods... My father was one of those, so I always framed it in that vein, that he represents the "animus" that ultimately imprinted an archetype of male partnership energy in my psyche: handsome but humble, incredibly intelligent, champion athlete, dependable, nurturing, in-charge, devoted, magnetic, sensual, highly social, very spiritual, artistic... goes on & on. I don't think consciously about my pursuit of these qualities -- it's all very primal & instinctive. But I just don't respond to most men unless they possess a rare & shining combination of these traits. I've wished may times I could, but things are what they are. Man, have you nailed it. And you ask where Jupiter is right now...? Aren't you clever. Jupiter went retro this month less than two degrees away from a conjunction with my natal Juno! I had no idea... wasn't paying attention at all. So, a quick check of the ephemeris reveals that Jupiter will hit Juno (20Scorpio49) exact on October 12th. Huh. We shall see if any gods reveal themselves at that time! I think you are right about not being able to settle for just companionship, though. And I can feel something coming. In the meantime, just as Jupiter went retro, I did start seeing someone whom I have referred to quite a few times as a god of sorts, this amazingly sexy Italian man "who looks like an Italian film star or soccer god" -- I believe that's the phrase I've used. Despite some decent chemistry, we're not a match overall, and normally I'm a "three dates your out" type of woman when the connection isn't really happening, but I haven't been able to bring myself to say good-bye to him just yet... A quick glance at our synastry reveals a little Juno/Neptune action! His Scorpio Juno is conjunct my Neptune, and his Neptune *exactly* conjuncts my Moon, so -- very coincidentally to this thread -- this guy is tickling my Juno-Neptune-Moon energy with *his* Juno-Neptune energy! My goodness. I didn't realize this thread would be so revealing when I hopped in. LOL Here's a picture of the town where my family is from: it's called Pythagoreon (where Pythagorus was born) and the island is called Samos. The castle in the background is the one I mentioned!  And, just for a little mini vacay, imagine floating in this beautiful water... resting effortlessly in the heavily saline water as if immersed once again in the womb, nude under the summer sun... yum. I spent six weeks there last summer (very often at this exact beach), charging my batteries for the winter! LOL  And one other strange Juno/Hera thing I remembered... we even have a family home in the neighboring town of Ireon (named after Hera), the location of the Hera temple! Wow. Okay, I guess I really chose to vibe with Juno energy when I came down here this time round! I need some cold water to take me down a few notches, now. LOLOL samina |

One little addition... my Juno trines my natal Chiron (18Pisces), and Jupiter has been hovering in that trine for awhile. I guess Jupiter is stirring up the Juno energy via Chiron perhaps a little more than I thought. Interestingly, Jupiter/Chiron is one of those "Cinderella transits" mentioned by the Magi (That's the 3rd time I've mentioned our old fairy tale friend in this thread... what's up with that, I wonder -- not my usual focus).
Another quick look at my synastry with Italian Joe reveals that his Venus is *exactly* opposite my Chiron, almost to the second! So this guy is hitting my Juno with Venus energy through my Chiron, on top of the Juno/Neptune stuff. Interesting....
It's still not a match, tho. Just a tease. LOL

What an incredibly beautiful, magical, sensual area!!!!
I couldn't help but compare your photos to the area I grew up--south of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, steel mills, slag heaps, etc.
But we did have the convergence of three main rivers, which is where Pittsburgh started.
I was thinking recently that the placement of Juno is a much stronger energy than we realize. And she really comes alive in relationship of any kind, which is what she craves. There must be 7th House overtones to this energy. And thank god for her, because of the major planets and asteroids, she is the ONLY body I have in an Earth sign, and I would have self-combusted or floated off the Earth or drown by now if not for her!!!!
Yes, cold water is called for as I soldier on!!!

Amoroso, I think you're right about Juno's influence! I never before delved much into her role in my own chart, but she actually seems quite pivotal! This thread has been such an eye-opener... So glad she has served you well by throwing a little earth your way! LOL Hey, wasn't Flashdance set in Pittsburgh? That sexed up the city's image a bit... Juno has been on my mind so much since the above posts. There's so much to learn about this amazing world we live in, and the role of the heavenly bodies. Wow. sami |

My Mother has always wanted to go to Greece and when my sister was there, she said that while during a meditation it was thundering and she felt Zeus "throwing his thunderbolts around" But how fortunate for you! Pythagoreon? I worship Pythagoras! He was born there? Near Hera's temple? Is that why he was the only great thinker of his time that did so much to honor women?
He reinstated matriarchy and encouraged the education of women in his cult. I've always idealized him and his incredible leap of consciousness that he made (with his wife and daughters who don't get mentioned a great deal! His wife, Teano, was the one who wrote the thesis on the 'Golden Mean', discovering it for the first time in the ancient Greek culture. This is 2 and a half thousand years ago! What history graces your home island!
The beauty of that Samo is as alluring as any 'larger than life' lover!
I'm in awe.

Jade, I've always wanted to visit Samos during the winter, when it gets very, very stormy. I am so in love with the sea in general, but when I am there it is as if I'm umbilically tied to it. And I wonder what it is like to behold when it's all churned up and grey and frothy, and what those wild thunderstorms are like! I bet it indeed would seem like the gods were becoming all riled up! LOL One of my favorite things to do in the summer is to take a boat trip along the coast to some remote beaches, in part because they pass by beautiful cliffs that apparently Odysseus travelled past on his journey to Troy! There are so many ways to feel connected to antiquity in places like that! Kim, I'm a Pythagoras-lover as well, for sure! I've thought that perhaps a kind of "tribal" energy connected to him permeates my veins because my father was born in the same town, and when I got older I discovered that so much of what he introduced were critical elements or even passions in my own life. I think my father must've been very inspired by the same energies, because I grew up with a lot of on-the-side math & science tutoring from him -- he's a physicist. And while I always loved math & physics I gravitated more toward music & metaphysics. There's a certain symmetry there, I think! I believe that just outside of town are the ruins of a house that is said to be his birthplace, but I've never gone to see it up close -- I've only seen it from the water while swimming. I tend to take such claims with a generous helping of salt (LOL). Makes a nice story, tho. And yes, the house would be on a hillside above the ruins of Hera's temple, within sight of it I'm sure! You may be on to something there! I don't know how I'd begin to put into words the powerfully creative goddess energies I feel so strongly when I'm on the island. In fact, I tend toward the belief that different areas of the planet resonate more strongly with certain energies, and Samos seems to me to be *very* much a place of strong female energy! And just across the water are the ruins of Ephesus in Turkey, with Artemis/Diana's temple! The port of Kusadasi (giving access to Ephesus) is actually visible from one of the beaches I like to swim at! I can see you just absolutely loving & vibing with that whole area, Kim! I didn't realize it was Teano would wrote the Golden Mean thesis! Wow. This thread will no doubt inspire some fresh reading on the subject. Well, Miss Queen of Powerful Secrets, thanks for letting me share a bit about my home country -- it gives me so much pleasure! I am completely in awe of the place, myself... Oh wait, one more thing on the heels of your comments about matriarchy, Kim..! This little story is off-topic, but definitely on the Juno wavelength. Maybe it's connected to my Moon-Juno-Neptune placement? Dunno.
Anyway, I come from a line of very strong, matriarchal women. I've thought many times of writing some of their stories because they are just so fascinating. But some of that energy has definitely filtered into my own family life as well.
When I got married (ages ago, 1987), my husband-to-be asked me what I wanted to do about my last name: did I want to take his, keep my own, hyphenate? I certainly didn't want to hyphenate my long greek surname to make it even longer, and I never really understood the logic of taking on a man's name (when the woman's mitochondrial DNA is what is actually passed down to the child). So, years before "Father of the Bride, Part II" made a joke of our creative solution, we symbolically combined the letters of our name and came up with a list of all the last names we could create with those letters. We picked the one that felt best, and each of us added that name legally onto our birth names. Our children, then, assumed the new "family" name.
But then we divorced. And my ex remarried. He dropped the extra name so his wife and their eventual children could share his family name.
But that left me as the matriarch effectively at the very head of a new lineage -- my children share only *my* name, not their father's! Symbolically, this is very appropriate because I am definitely both their mother AND father in many respects.
Thought you might get a kick out of that, what with all the goddess talk. LOL

Samina....For a moment, your photos sent me into dreamy heaven! No longer was I staring at a computer screen...I was standing there looking down at the water...the air temperature was cool and a light breeze felt wonderful through my long curly hair.....THANK YOU for that moment! Hooray for you being the Matriarch of a new family lineage! My kinda Lady! I never changed my name when I was married either....too patriarchal for this Fire Horse (Chinese Astro)!! Of course my ex's new wife took his surname.....that is such an ancient tradition isn't it??
