Starscream.....I identify with people popping up from out of the blue lately as well! Yesterday, I received a call from a good friend who is visiting New Delhi, India and he called to tell me about the train station he was standing in at 5am. He said the city was as busy as if it were Noon on a sunny day! Cows were standing on the platform...so I told him to be watchful of the moo-droppings!! He said that was everywhere as well! I also rec'd a call from a Gemini guy friend who has had so much happening...tr Pluto is opposing his Sun and in a matter of a month or so, his gf lost her job and moved in with him! He is trying to start a business for her and also buy some commercial real estate....extending himself a tad. Whew.... Yesterday, one brother called as well...told me my father has been afraid I would move back in after I failed at my latest venture! Ha! What a silly thing for my father to think...I have not lived with him since he moved out when I was 12 and I have lived on my own since I was 18yo! I am 40yo now and take care of myself just fine! Weird. And of course, my Piscean guy pal from the UK who mysteriously reappeared the other day in search of me on another astro-forum I do not visit anymore. In early January of this year, he suddenly dropped out of the radar screen. Also a bit odd that he is back. I have Juno at 7th h Taurus 29 which will be trined by the eclipse today. Hmm...not sure about any influences there....perhaps new beginnings in committed relationships for you?!! Happy Eclipse Day Everyone!! Hugs- GemStar

Jamma- Thanks for pointing out the tr NNode opposed tr BML. I wonder how this will play into the solar eclipse today and in the coming weeks? Any ideas? BTW-I was looking up placements for the two asteroids you mentioned in your post above...checking to see if they were being aspected as well. They are not but for fun, I looked up my Dad's chart....lo and behold, my name asteroid is located at Sag 11' 47 in his first house....which is currently being squared by tr Uranus at Pis 12 in his third house! Changes in communication!! Although....the current changes are seemingly getting worse. My brother said he does not hear the same stories I do...and when Dad goes fishing around for information on me, my brother said it will end up in a 30 min discussion of all that is wrong with me! Anyway......just noticing something interesting. It is difficult to be treated so badly by a man who is supposed to love you and as a retired financial professional, my father is showing his dark colors more than ever these days. (And he is not an alcoholic!) There must be a better explanation for his behaviour. Perhaps tr Pluto to his natal Sag Sun at 29 will continue to touch off what is being squared in today's solar eclipse! Thanks again....good energy today! Hugs- GemStar

With all the talk about health matters lately, I thought I'd point out that the asteroid Askalaphus seems to be following this and the last eclipse. He was trine the Sun at the lunar eclipse and is trine both today, being at 29 Capricorn Rx. At the lunar eclipse, I think Askalaphus was opposite his discovery point. He will station and turn direct in a couple of days. Also Hygiea is now trine the lunar eclipse Sun at 16 Capricorn. By this time next month he will trine the solar eclipse. These are 9th house types of trines rather than 5th house, from the asteroids point of view. But the way the Sun looks at it the health asteroids are in the 5th. Panacea will trine this eclipse, also from 29 Capricorn about the 3rd of December. This might make us thing we need to give up something, but perhaps we need to think again. Look for insight when Sun reaches 29 Cap. The end of Dec. beginning of Jan Askaphalus, Hygiea and Panacea will all be conjunct around 11-13 Aquarius. Sounds enlightening.
I did some research because I have Askalaphus at 27 Virgo 40 and Juno at 28 exactly conjunct Tyrannosaurus with Hershey there too, then Virginia, Randi and Taguacipa at 29 Virgo. I think this is playing out with the work comp hearing coming up but also with a complaint I filed with the state against the doctor they had treating me. They wanted a release of all my medical records to investigate this further. Since Taguacipa is known as the shadow of the creator god, it could have to do with x-rays or MRI films.
Happy eclipse, all. May our tears be tears of joy!
I keep seeing "ask all of us" in Askalaphus and this may be connected to the astronomers' petition wanting their say. I'm also seeing me with my little Tyrannasaurus arms doing his body sized labors at my former job. His carnivorus appetite reminds me that I am able to bring in a little cash through making food for my husband's co-workers. Their favorite seems to be subs, loaded with meat, and cheese of course. My 5 year old calls the brontasaurus a broccoliasaurus. Today I sent 12 cups of broccoli, ham and cheese soup along with 8 subs and 8 brownies (hershey) with walnuts, carmel and coconut. It's good they do really hard labor to burn that off. This eclipse falls in my 2nd, by the way. The other day the guys told my man they need to have a Tim appreciation day. I said, hey, what about me. I guess that's what I'm required to give up with this eclipse.
Askalaphus was the one who reported to Pluto that Persephone ate 6 pomegranate seeds causing her to stay in the underworld for half the year. (in Michigan it's more like 9 months, there was a light frost on my car yesterday morning) According to my favorite asteroid site and treehouse mountain, I guess he has to do with medical issues and confidentiality between dr and patient, or the ethics there.

Hello Everyone- Lots of mixed vibes out there today. My Piscean friends seem to be overly tired this past week....and my Virgo friend whose BDay is today is incredibly frustrated and somewhat down. Lots of planetary energies swirling around and people wanting a break it seems! Here is the Eric Francis write up for today. I just took a small sample of the article I thought was interesting! One way to view another eclipse on the Aries Point axis (that is, in proximity to the beginning of any cardinal sign, Aries, Cancer, Libra or Capricorn) is to note that we've reached a turning point since the most recent one, which was five years and one season ago. The relationship is a square, or tense 90-degree angle; the 2001 total solar eclipse was in the first degree of Cancer, and the 2006 one is less than a degree from the beginning Libra. If you're trying to understand aspects, get the feel. A trine (120 degrees, said to be easy) is like making a wide turn in your car, like bearing left at a fork in the road. A square is like making a hard left turn. You really have to slow down, check on oncoming traffic from several directions, downshift and orient on a new road. There is a difference.
Squares are commonly considered points of internal reorientation. This is partly because oppositions are considered relational aspects. Squares are about the relationships within, the tension within that gets us to act, to move, to try, to change and to become. Where we experience a square, we generally don't need to be told; we will eventually act.
Another way to consider what's happening is that it's too big to see. There is absolutely no underestimating human naiveté, so that's not saying much; most people don't know where their electricity comes from, or their ground beef, for that matter, so global trends are not likely to appear on their psychic radar.
But our own psychology is often experienced the same way, as nearly impossible to notice because it's so ubiquitous, and too large or overwhelming to do anything about. Awareness takes work, and it has a way of making work. Once you notice how messy your house is, the next logical step is to clean up. If you don't notice, you save all that work -- for a while.
There is something about this eclipse that has the distinct feeling of psychological cleanup. There is something about noticing mental patterns and addressing them. Senseless chaos is a sign of doing neither. The fact that this eclipse occurs relatively early in the 18-month journey of the lunar nodes through Virgo/Pisces suggests an agenda-setting quality, the revelation of what exactly we need to clear out of the way in order to grow beyond the aspects of life that are holding us back or limiting our expression, involvement with others, or peace of mind.planetwavesweekly.com/resources/sample_report5.htmlHugs- GemStar

GemStar, thanks for starting this nice little thread on eclipses and the nice links. I like Eleanor Buckwalter a lot.
Like you, the Sun last passed over my Pluto. Unlike you (hugs), the eclipse doesn't make very many aspects for me, just an out of sign cj to my MC. I'd been using squares and trines with eclipses, but apparently I'm only supposed to be using cj's and opps with an eclipse.
So the only thing that's been happening is, I've been overhauling my home office, going through last years papers and throwing lots of things away that I'd normally keep and some things that I've held on to for a long time. Nothing earthshaking, but how Pluto/Virgo is that? Gosh, it feels really good to get rid of some of these old quasi-sentimental papers and things. Now everything is so organized, and I love it.
Okay. This happened too. You know how Pluto rules volcanoes and things. A packet of lentils I was heating up on the stove exploded. Lentils everywhere. And I had to do some cleaning. More Pluto/Virgo.
I don't know if someone already mentioned this, so I'll bring it up just in case - to check where the eclipse sits in your solar return chart if your b'day falls 5 days plus or minus from an eclipse. Your solar return chart will be worth looking into as a predictive tool along with the transits and progressions as the next year will be a big one, a solar eclipse with or without a New Moon near your birthday.
Samina, I watch very little tv, but my favorite show is Dancing with the Stars. I enjoyed reading your post about your dancing and your new partner. It must be wonderful to be able to dance like that. It would be fun to take dance lessons, good exercise.

Hey AquaMoon! Yes....starting this thread has been a great thing for us all! I do not think we have ever had so much participation in an eclipse thread before! Because I wanted to be more fully aware of the eclipses this month, I felt it was important to start this thread early so we ALL could approach September in a very ' aware' manner. Everyone adding their thoughts, happenings and most importantly, their articles and links, has really made it fun and enjoyable to read!! Thanks goes out to each and every participating member of Kim's AWESOME Forum!! ;D Today continued to be interesting. My Love called me and we chatted for nearly two hours! He seemed better than back to normal and was the chattiest I have heard him in over a month. Before I press for more details, I decided to chill and let the conversation flow as we reconnected. This solar eclipse exactly trined our Juno-Venus conjunction at Taurus 29. ;D So, perhaps the pleasant energy was a nice new charge to our special connection. He promised to call again tomorrow and I was quite surprised again. He seems to be so unpredictable these days....and I chalk it up to his tr Uranus traveling back toward his ASC at 10' 55 Pisces. What I have learned about Uranus is that it will do what it needs to do unexpectedly and laying back and chilling for me has been a good lesson. (Meaning-It's not about me when someone starts being erratic during a powerful Uranus transit to their ASC..so chill Gemmie, CHILL!) One of the lessons this eclipse has really reminded me is that when the Universe brings ENERGY into our lives, touching each of us in an individual manner, we must remember to be aware of the opportunities presenting themselves. My determination seems to be sparked of late (despite my occasional off-shoots of frustration) and has spurred me on toward my inner strength and desire to be more active in my Life again. Active in a way which serves me better, and not fritters my energy away worrying about others and their challenges. A healthier balance is good and paying attention to my goals needs to be a bigger priority for me. Has anyone else felt any particular energies in play this week that we can learn from? Today I also received a very lovely Thank You note from my Tango pal of last weekend...thanking me for the efforts I gave toward some design ideas and changes I made to his home while I visited. His neighbors were so impressed and I could tell it made this Leo Man all the more proud of his home. He wrote that he was so excited about these changes and wanted me to know that he has nearly completed my brief list of ideas for more change! Ha,ha....that was nice. I must say it is a challenge to 'turn off' my design mode when visiting a home which is in bad need of better flow and less clutter. Reducing the little bits and pieces of decor (read-junk!) which add nothing to a home's flavor can decrease the inhabitant's stress in many ways. Anyway....establishing and sticking to my boundaries was maybe not what he had in mind last weekend but at least I maintain respect from him. It must be difficult for a Naval Commander to come up against a woman who has ideas of her own! Hee-hee.....he wants me to return and tango soon...but I think I will give it a rest for the time being! PS-AquaMoon....I love 'Dancing with the Stars' as well! It is fun to watch and I cheer on those people who have not had formal dance training (even though you can tell who has lied about NOT having previous training as a kid)! Lessons can cost a fortune! However, so worth it when you have the opportunity to DANCE! And yes, Samina, I had not had the opportunity to respond to your fantastic FIND of a partner! WOW! When you have a partner who knows what he is doing...and more importantly, can teach YOU how to move in your dance, well, that is an million-dollar BONUS! Just like him, I only will take Argentine Tango Lessons with the best maestros in the ARG Tango world to ensure I have learned it the RIGHT way first! Each instructor has his/her own style... I am happy for you that you found this great man who seems to be into practicing as much as you are! Hopefully, he is of patient temperament and you two continue to have smooth communication! Keep us informed.....and I am wondering if this partnership was initiated (composite?) by the Solar Eclipse of today? I can't remember what has been written before...the past few days have been weird for me so my apologies if I missed the obvious! Anyone else with happenings today? Hugs- GemStar (relieved)

I'm having a hard time keeping up with this thread - so much here! I had a week of exhausting commutes in traffic and that eats up so much time and energy. I had a funeral to go to yesterday - my friend's mother was 93 and in a nursing home for a long time and had been dying for many days. Anyway, I forwarded to her yesterday's blurb on the New Moon/Solar Eclipse at StarIQ and though she doesn't know much about astrology she was thrilled - she said she was wondering why her mother passed when she did (on the eve of the New Moon/equinox) - her mom had Druidic leanings. StarIQ article: www.stariq.com/NewMoonReport.HTMSamina asked if my former 'new guy' departed on the run-up to this eclipse, and that's entirely possible. It was 7 days before the eclipse, and his Venus is at 29 Virgo! Guess it was his need to move on. I don't have any 29 degree planets, but I do have Eros at 0.40 Aries - not sure if the eclipse would be affecting that?? Sounds like many people here are in a swirl of energies! 3HN

Well I went out and bought the travel ticket that I have not felt right to buy yet for months Today it felt right And I go next Thursday. So my hope that Jupiter being 26 Virgo etc etc would get a boost to move from the eclipse has been realised And my Pluto 26 Virgo - is up to something too He has been behaving well for several weeks and seems to be changing Wait and see without investing too much into it one way or the other Suz and 3rd HouseN The links are lovely - thanks for sharing them My laptop is groaning with downloads as there are more links on them

I've been having a strong desire building for a while now to buy a weeping willow and this other kind of weeping tree for my yard. The pussy willow and oak were present for my Beltain theme wedding as symbols of fertility and longevity but both my husband and I have been wanting the weeping kind too. We have she a lot of tears together. I was thinking this would be a lovely token for the eclipse, to turn the tears into a celebration. Now that we're in the 1st quarter phase it would be a good time to transplant for fall.

QUESTION:
Does anyone know if checking the eclipses can be reviewed with your Solar Return chart?? Or, do we mainly look at it in the natal only. (Progressed too probably)...
Thanks! Hugs- GemStar

Gem, I imagine all of these are possible. Are you comfortable working with the SR?

Post by gemstar on Sept 23, 2006 22:04:52 GMT
Yes I am! At least I am getting better at it! However, I do not want to apply things such as an eclipse if it is not applicable. The part I am learning now is about how to use transits with the SR. I do not want to falsely assume that a transiting eclipse can be used together with a SR in addition to the natal chart. It is far too easy to apply everything to everything with astrology!! Where are the boundaries of astro practicality vs way-to-far-land??!! This is what I am attempting to establish with this current eclipse and applying it correctly.....the 'anything goes' approach may be too inaccurate and misapplied! (Which I am sure to do if I don't know better!!) Hee-hee.....hence, the question! Rein me in.....if I am out too far! Hugs- GemStar

Well Gem, basically an Eclipse is 'just another' transit, is my line of reasoning, be it a very important and special one. I 100% agree with honouring boundaries and not compare everything to everything, but this seems appropriate!
Also, be aware of what works best for you. Everyone has a favorite kind of chart/asteroid/method and I believe it is very valid to develop just these, and see where it goes, regardless of general opinion.
Love, Juliet
