This Sedna so close to the Ascendant suggest you need to express her power in some way--bring it 'down to earth' through Taurus. Any ideas? Kim

My Sedna is closely conjunct my Venus, which rules my first house. I don't know how to interpret this. I am not looking for free advice on this but if everyone can learn from it, then all the more better.

Sedna has turned out to be quite prominent in my chart, falling at 25 Aries in the 9th in partnership with Medusa opposite her in the 3rd house at 25 Libra. I seem to get fired when these degrees are conjuncted, especially by the Sun. Medusa had her head cut off but she was still able to protect and attack. Sedna's fingers and arms were cut off but she was still able to create life. I can relate to her story since it is problems with my hands and arms that caused me to be thrown overboard even though it was their abusive treatment that caused the problem in the first place. Interesting, this is true of Sedna too. Her father forced her to marry this man that abused her, then he abused her to save himself from the consequences of his own actions. Sure, he was trying to rescue his daughter, but the rescue was necessary because of his actions and he sacrificed her to save himself. Here's my take on these two ladies from my experience. Medusa in later stories was described as horribly ugly but I have a feeling she was to beautiful to behold. You know that song line, "I'm too sexy for my hair..."? I think that is Medusa. Her hair like serpents represents the kundalini power that has reached the crown. She could turn men to stone if they even quickly glanced at her. That sounds like an erect penis, if you ask me. One look is all it took. Now, they were safe if they used a mirror, a reflection to look at her. Interesting I have two sons whose Suns are the exact solstice point, mirror, of Sedna and Medusa. Not quite positive yet how they fit in here. I do know that breastfeeding my last son brought some comments from male co-workers at the one job I was fired from. That would fit with her severed head being plastered on Pallas' breast as protection. Yes, Pallas is in that house too. Then I have Jupiter in Cancer square Medusa, got the picture? Oh, I know why I got fired. My nursing baby wasn't my mirror to Medusa, it was my baby with Sun conjunct my Jupiter and Uranus. Now I see. The severed head can represent the boss or one in authority over, or even the head of the household, traditionally the husband. The head also has sexual connotations. Her head still had the power solidify, set things in stone, protect and attack even after removed. The head on Pallas' breastplate is symbolic of uniting head and heart, I think, a good means of protection. Both bosses at the last job I was fired from have since lost their position, both being demoted and hidden from sight, shortly after throwing me overboard. The head can be a kind of signature, a mark of distinction that sets one apart from the crowd, a way of identifying. I know the severed head still has the power to protect or attack from the things my ex, my severed head, has said and done. I see Sedna's fingers which became seals as another means of identification. Our seal is our fingerprint or our signature. It can both protect us and convict us. It can even be used as an abuse of power to falsely accuse just to get a conviction. Our fingers are used to communicate, both in sign language and in writing. Her arms became the whales. The whales are her cries for help that went unheard and ignored. I am in the middle of a law suit with my employer and their insurance company. Their false defense is that there is no problem other than my severed fingers (moderate carpel tunnel syndrome). They chose to ignore my initial complaint of upper arm pain because carpel tunnel is easy. They are claiming that they offered me surgery that the doctor ordered and that I refused. The doctor never ordered it and that is not my main problem. Apparently, in Michigan a judge on 2 occasions ruled against a persons right to not have carpel tunnel surgery so this is their plan of action, make it look like that's my problem and that I refuse to do what they consider an easy fix. I would refuse it though, since as long as I do the right work my hands are ok. Also, I know of not one person who had the surgery, went back to the same work and never had recurring problems. They all have. My real concern is my arms, the whales which seem to have a problem with the ulnar nerve. My whales went ignored because that was harder to deal with and more debilitating with the work I did. If they faced that it would cost them more money or they would have to give me the work I was doing while on restriction that they reserved for the favored men. They didn't feed me any better than Sedna's husband. And my father managed to take me in as a foster child so he was paid to take care of me ;D He also told me I didn't have a right to not give my husband sex if I was living in his home. He also said he would have fired me too if I demanded to know where to file a sexual harassment complaint. I seem to play out the myths quite literally. Does this story of the seals and whales fit the reality of the seals and whales in our oceans? I think the whales are more important in commerce historically, and more endangered. My son that has his Sun antiscion to my Sedna is already faster with typing than me and he's only 13. He has very sensitive skin on his hands, getting chapped and inflamed very easily. (Sedna in Aries) With Sedna connected to Venus and the first house I would look at how your hands (writing) or other Sedna kinds of things are your mark of identification, your seal. Just the style of one's writing can give a visual of one's face or what their personality is like. If someone steals another's writing, often it can be recognized. One's writing is as unique as one's face.

Connie,
What an interesting post! (And what are you doing up so late? ;D)
I'm just now going to go check my Sedna and where it is/was with someone who I often said "sold me out for himself"...

Me? My post was only 7:46 pm. Yours is in the wee hours of the morning. But I am back to calling it a night earlier. Hubby got a new job that started yesterday so I'm up with him at 4:30am. This should be interesting. He began this job with Moon void but it wasn't with the interview. They had held onto his resume for a whole year and just called him out of the blue. In the meantime his other job gave him some of the skills he needed for this job. The Moon void is necessary because he needs to have the lack of drivers license overlooked. Part of the requirement there is that everyone have a CDL. You have to have a license to get a special license. Sedna is in the 3rd house of my 7th, got his wheels cut off. We both have Neptune in our 3rd so that shows the sacrifice both would have to make. And it is a sacrifice. I hate driving and hate even more driving on sub zero snow and ice covered roads. But it's something I'm glad to be able to do. I don't know how people survive living in the country without transportation. I'll try not to whale too much. (or is that wail? I love the English language. The Babel isn't as confusing as we think.)

I had thought I saw your post pop up while I was on line last night.....didn't look at the time How did you determine the Moon was VOC with your husband's employment Connie (I mean what did you base it on if there was not an interview). Did you simply run a chart for the moment he got the news based on location, etc.? If you would rather post the response over at the Astrologer's Community where you have a VOC Moon thread going then I'll check there...

He did have an interview so that is probably the key to his start with this job. Moon was about the same distance from Sun as when he started the job. It may only last a few years since the Moon is about 3 days from New Moon. I cast a chart for the start of his first day on the job, yesterday, and the Moon was void then, at the same place as where the Sun was at the interview. In both charts Pisces/Virgo are intercepted. The node is exactly on his descendant right now. He's left handed so this often fits as his ascendant rather than descendant. The job is Piscean, putting in pools, spas, water fountains. The Capricorn Moon fits the concrete part of the work. His 6th cusp critical degree is rising in the start chart with Saturn exactly on the descendant which is his 12th cusp also a critical degree. Not quite sure what to make of the 12th house connections and Saturn there. Ceres is on his natal descendant right now. A hot tub sounds very nurturing to me. That's been a dream we've had along with a water fountain, and a glass room where I can grow my tender perennials, like Lemongrass, Bay, Scented Geraniums....Oh, sweet Myrtle and Tuberose. I miss my greenhouse.

A Sun room sounds so heavenly AqEss esp. surrounded by nature...The last time I recall such a thing (as a Sun room) I'd had the flu. The only thing that made me feel better was feeling the Sun through a window...intesified...It seemed to heal to the bone.
It sounds like your husband's new employment is compatible with him, esp. with the Piscean influence and him being left handed. You've never mentioned his Sun Sign and I don't think I've ever thought to ask. What is his Sun Sign? LOL
The Saturn in 12th may mean that what needs to remain private will remain so (the VOC reinforcing this perhaps).

He's Aries Moon18,Sun19. The prebirth new Moon was in Pisces accounting for the strong Pisces nature too. Then with Mercury in Pisces trine Cancer Jupiter and Scorpio Neptune, he's a fire water baby. Mars helps him to find balance in Libra. Since this is the year of the Fire Pig and they love mud packs, maybe this will be a good year. He's a sheep. Or is that goat.
Flower, I think we hijacked this thread. Where did Sednason go? She doesn't eat her babies like Saturn does, I hope.

Connie, Your husband sounds very sweet. I think I can understand how the Pisces prebirth Moon can often soften fire ...or at least I hope so in my case... Thanks for sharing his Sun Sign. Wow, 13 years younger and all that fire too... Girl, in Michigan, I don't think you need anything else to keep you warm!! My Sedna is sextile Mars-Asc and sextile Chiron in 9th Aquarius. To the Asc exact degree and Mars and Chiron by one degree. Nicely snug there... With Sedna in the middle of the two sextiles that would mean Sedna is the close end of a kite opposition. I don't have a major body at the far end of the kite, in 5th. Will need to check asteriod positions. I've understood the far end of the kite (the focal point of the bow and arrow for those who might not know ) needs to be done in some way. It's not my first kite...think I know how to "go fly a kite" pretty good by now . I wonder what I'll find and how pertinent it might be with my experience with Sedna to understand her/life experiences more, since like you mention, it can seem "a literal myth" that we live. Yes, perhaps Sednason will give his/her impute on your take on Venus-Sedna Flower

Also notice that she is at the midpoint of Chiron/Mars-Asc or Sedna=Chrion/Mars-Asc. She will trigger the sometimes lazy trine into manifestation. I'm sure you've found this to be true, through friends, aquaintances, group forums :-)

Hi Sednason... Interesting... I'm a freak about using hand lotion. It's always in my purse. I use my hands in my work. Perhaps Sedna=Chiron-Mars/Asc ties that in too. In order to help others, my hands often end up in pain or at least need care periodically. ============================================== AqEss: "I'm sure you've found this to be true, through friends, aquaintances, group forums" LOL..... I have many asteroids that could be the futher end of the kite. I suppose that natally I could narrow it down through declination, antiscion. Yes, I'll keep an eye on transits to that mid-point. Thanks for pointing that out.

My Sedna is in 2'06 Taurus in 8th,and that sextiles my Moon in 3'11 Pisces in 6th. With Sedna relating to the sea, I was in the United States Navy for 7 years.
also..I have a 3 Dimensional aspect of Moon sextile Sedna of 3 minutes of arc

I'd read a lot about Sedna whilst on holiday in Canada last year, and was fascinated by her story. I bought a beautiful piece of very deep blue Labradorite crystal there, which seemed very relevant to Sedna. It's full of icy depths. Checking natal Sedna, she's in the 12th house on my antivertex with just 25 minutes of orb (28 Aries 42, my antivertex is 29 Aries 05). Reading through earlier posts about hands, and asking them what they want to do, was wonderful - mine, I discover, want to do reiki (12th house, and opposite the vertex in Libra, which is about balancing, and achieving harmony in the body - vertex in 6th). I was attuned to reiki a few years ago but really haven't used it apart from self-healing. My hands spend a lot of time typing, emailing, texting - but that's not all they want to be doing. And until recently, I was hopeless at remembering to use handcream, I'd immerse my hands in water and not use the cream until they were sore and chapped. I didn't look after my nails either. As if I didn't want them to be noticed. Now I do, and they've improved immeasurably.
Transiting Sedna has just arrived on my natal Mars at 20 Taurus, where thanks to its very slow orbit, it will stay for some time. Taurus, the most tactile and sensual of signs, seems a good place for Sedna. If you're still collecting information, Kim, about Sedna's influence on planetary placements, I'll post anything that feels relevant!
