Thanks - ever the astrologer, I knew I had to look up my transits! Just occurred to me that Saturn rules teeth, too!

I was going to mention Saturn and the relationship to teeth and bones as well. How are you feeling now, Ariesmoon? Have you listened to my link (or read text) from Larry Williamson's New Moon in Virgo Rave? He talks about dis-ease in the body being a message from the gods. The link is on my main page, second one down www.falconastrology.comHe says, The Greeks believed that sickness was the result of divine intervention, not in the sense of retribution ,but in the sense that something profound was being asked by the divine powers. The gods and goddesses were thought to be the cause and cure, for illness. Carl Jung put forth the idea that the “ gods are diseases”, He was saying that we humans are so alienated from the sacred dimension of life that the divine energy, in desperation ,has chosen our bodies as point of entry. That so many people have become alienated from their own souls, that the only way the divine can enter our consciousness is through the body in the form of illness. Jung also says, “ that just because we live in a culture that has demythologized itself, doesn’t mean the gods and goddesses do not still exist”.The whole text is on his astro alert page--good medicine! I also think it is of great value to ask the part of your body that is hurt what is going on. Relax, as much as possible, and find out what your nerve pain/jaw bone has to say to you. It can be an enlightening experience! Hope you're feeling better! Kim

Thank you Kim, I hadn't listened to Larry but I have now! I had been ignoring this problem, and now I'm forced to acknowledge it. No choice! I like the idea of the gods and goddesses talking to us through dis-ease - I do like splitting the word too, it reminds you of its root and its component parts (which is a metaphor exactly of what's going on here with nerves!) I'm going to do what you suggest and relax with it and see what it has to say. A pain as intense as that has to be saying something about having being out of touch with the body and its sensations, and also about avoiding touch (it makes the facial skin above the nerve ends very sensitive).
For now I'm taking tablets which suppress it - sort of - it's instinctive isn't it to want to remove the pain completely, but I'm already thinking I don't want to suppress it entirely as I'll lose touch with what the message is. Enough to sleep, so that I can dream. Larry's piece reminded me that I have - somewhere - some superb tapes by the healer Denise Linn, which are guided meditations based on dreaming and healing. She talks in the tapes about Greek healing temples. I've had them for years, not played them for months. Out they come, now I'm getting some sleep at last!
Just remembered, draconic Pluto is stationing exactly on natal Saturn, so there are bound to be deep-rooted issues being dredged up (Pluto) affecting the teeth and bones (Saturn) in Aquarius (which has links to the nervous system and electrical impulses through Uranus).

I'm glad you remembered those tapes! I don't think you have to experience the screaming pain to get the message. You know when a child is really upset--hysterical even --you have to just comfort them unconditionally until they settle. Then you can ask them what happened and what hurts. Perhaps it is like that with this nerve pain. Comfort your body unconditionally and when it eases enough you will hear the message--then you can take action to put things right. There is a difference between suppress, resist, ignore and suppress, listen, resolve. It sounds to me like you are right on track! Blessings and healing, Kim

Thanks Kim - that's a lovely way to think of it, comforting a child unconditionally. It's odd, I've just had a child's report done for myself, and am writing up reports for two small children, so that theme is very relevant. As is the discovery in my chart of the asteroid describing Brigid, a nurturer of small children. I've written about this a lot in the forum but am struggling a bit still to manage to do it for myself. I imagine that these are the lessons of Saturn in Virgo opposing my Pisces planets - learning to be unconditional with the self, and taking note of my dreams. Feeling much brighter now and I have so appreciated all the messages of care and love I get through this forum.

Isn't it great when new friends come into your life and you see instantly why they're there? And that you can trace it back to a transit (Saturn through my 5th in Virgo!) I'm discovering a wonderful new friendship with someone I've known casually for a few years but we'd never really spoken in depth before. She's now pregnant with her first child and is so full of joy and excitement that she seems to want to share with me - it's the pure joy of creation, without ego. She's a former teacher, determined, very organised and self-disciplined (so I'm thinking "strong Saturn!") and also wonderfully creative and still works with children. I'm hoping to work with her next year.
All this whilst Saturn is transiting through my 5th house which had already been making me think much more clearly - and deeply (crossing Pluto) about using my creative and organisational talents to work with children. I do believe the Universe brings us the people we need - and who need us - when we're open to the messages.

When we are open! That's a wonderful way to put it. Thank you for the joyful post! Both you and Juliet have posted praise to Saturn today!!! (in the Eros into Virgo) It thrills me because yes, it is 'friend Saturn' and he did rule the golden age!!!+ Thank you!!! Kim

It's great when things "click" like that. I had to share it! I've read Juliet's post too.
This "new" friend is also clever with detail, very meticulous, which is very Saturn in Virgo - she misses nothing and absorbs every detail before making a decision. Messages abound about looking more closely at the world around me, and crystallising (a good Saturn word!) one experience before moving on to the next. Working out what I've loved, and what lessons it has taught me. I wear crystals and use them in healing all the time and am very receptive to certain crystal energies. And yet the thought of "crystallising" experiences hadn't occurred to me before. I love it.

Just to update on Saturn in Virgo through the 5th, and learning more about creative processes. I've dabbled with creative writing on and off for a few years, done nothing specific with it. A wonderful talk by an author at my local library last week has sparked it off again, and what's more he and I are in email contact, he's very supportive of new writers and wants me to keep him in touch with the writing I'm doing.
I've already started a piece I'd been wanting to write for months, based on a painting, and it's proving cathartic as well as fascinating. The character's story has elements of my own (so that's why I chose the painting!) and I'm finding I just can't be flippant when I'm writing his words. I have to be fierce and raw and authentic, and I'm loving it. As is my 5th house Pluto! Lots of tears yesterday, because I saw words in print I haven't acknowledged before. But it's part of the journey. And, I have to craft, refine, get the details right (Virgo).

Perfect, Ariesmoon! I love that you were inspired by the author and are taking your creative writing further. It is a profound way to explore our inner landscapes, as well as intrigue and stimulate the minds of others! Great work! Kim

Hello again all, Long lost Jamma here ... big hugs to everyone -- I've missed you! This is the perfect thread (although perhaps not exactly as it was intended) to discuss Obama's victory ... With Saturn moving into Virgo, McCain's natal Sun, Obama's Leo Sun was allowed to shine bright ... no wonder it was a landslide! Anyone have a deeper analysis?

An astrologer I know summed it up perfectly yesterday. Saturn in Virgo is opposing Uranus in Pisces (exact). Old established structures (Saturn), apparently well in control, are overthrown by the new and revolutionary (Uranus), and by someone with a deep faith (Uranus in Pisces). Uranus sums up that complete reversal of fortunes for the former ruling party. Out with the old, in with the new. Uranus and Saturn are the joint rulers of Aquarius and the Moon (mother country) was in Aquarius on voting day, symbolising the move from Saturn to Uranus and the instinct for bringing about change and revolution.
I'm a Brit but it fascinates me too!

Hi Jamma, Thanks for bringing this up. I can’t offer any deep analysis – just deep relief and gladness!!! However, Larry Williamson (www.skybearastrology.com – linked from Kim’s home page) made comments similar to Ariesmoon. Below is a short portion from his monthly alert. From Larry Williamson – www.skybearastrology.com“On Election Day (USA) November 4, 2008 Saturn makes it opposition to Uranus, This is the first of five passages until July 26, 2010. Saturn represents the government, big business, the status quo, and the past. Uranus represents change, equality, freedom from the past, new breakthroughs. The last cycle between Saturn and Uranus occurred in the spring of 1964-1967. This was a profound time of change and Cultural Revolution such as the Civil rights movement, the Hippie (free love) movement, the Anti-War movement and the Woman’s Liberation movement for equality. Once again we all feel collectively the scent of change and revolution in the air.”
