Hi everyone, a newbie here Thank you for the insight you all share... I've read and learned a lot on this forum already. Maybe you guys could help with this one. I've been trying to find more on what a star of David means in synastry, but there really isn't a whole lot of information out there. I've asked in another forum, but it seems to be a topic of either not much interest or knowledge. I'd first like to know if the configuration in the chart below counts as a grand trine. His Venus (outer circle) is also trine my Jupiter (orb of 5) and opposite my Mars (orb of 6), and his Neptune is opposite my Jupiter (orb of 7), but for some reason those lines don't show in the picture. I'd love to hear any insights on this, how it may affect the relationship or of our coming together... really, anything you'd like to add. Thank you!

Hi Geemeeni, Welcome to the forum. Every astrologer has there own style of reading--for me, I never draw aspect lines. In that way I can 'see' the patterns one at a time and not a whole clutter, as it were. In synastry I use orbs of 10 degrees. This site offers a basic introduction to the Star o David aspect www.maryshea.com/star.htmlThe grand sextile (SoD) is significant in synastry because it links the two charts together--but know that ANY aspect can be a strong contact, even grand crosses. The important thing is that there is a connection at all. Trines and sextiles can be a 'lazy' taken for granted energy. A T-square or Yod, on the other hand, gets our attention straight up! There is usually a peaceful elemental flow in the grand sextile--this synastry doesn't have that but the outer ring Venus completes inner Jupiter trine Uranus and the inner ring Jupiter completes the outer ring Venus trine Pluto. Remember, people are like permanent transits, so being around each other is like having a transit completing each others G-Trine, all the time. Depending on how you each relate to the planets AND houses involved will determine how you 'find' each other. And it can change, as your self-awareness does. Regardless of what we call any aspect pattern, the key is that there is contact. What is waking up? What is touched? What does it mean to me? Those are the important questions. Thanks for posting. Kim

Hi Kim, Thank you so much for your insight! Sorry it took so long to reply, I went out of town for a couple of weeks and forgot to check in until now… You make a great point about people being like permanent transits. I've noticed that I am often attracted to people with planets in the same area his 10th house stellium is in, and it must be at least partly because of the trine enhancement to my first and second house planets, and conjunction to MC. I just had a tiny aha moment - since almost all of my chart is "below the horizon" and I am such an introvert, someone's planets highlighting my 10th house makes me feel more complete or balanced in a way that I don't feel with other signs. And I feel more like myself in his presence. I'm not sure how he relates to his planets, but that grand water trine seems strong to me. Jupiter and Venus both feel significant in my own astrological makeup. Maybe not by aspects, but I identify very much with my Venus sign, and anyone with strong Jupiter energy is hugely attractive to me. So much so that I couldn't imagine it not being as attractive and important to other people, though I know that intensity of attraction is my own perception. You bring up the point asking what is being touched and woken up… he and I definitely have lots of planetary contacts for me to sort through, and I can feel a lot of it already even in the newness of the relationship. And something I discovered the other day is that because my draconic chart is essentially the opposite of my natal, whatever conjunctions I have with him turn to oppositions and vice versa, when comparing the natal to draconic synastry. That definitely adds a solid extra layer to this synastry, and a whole other topic to explore. I'm not sure why I didn't see it before, but I do now see how this is not a grand sextile. However, would the other triangle between his neptune, my saturn-mars conjunction and my chiron/ his north node also be considered a grand trine?
