Hi Everyone,
Can anyone speak to Uranus, Neptune, or Pluto conjunctions to Ascendant in synastry? Is the planet person effected? The Asc person? Neither? Both?
Any ideas on and/or experiences of these?
Thanks!

Hi Airedale,
I'm still working on that one. My son's Pluto is within a 5 degree conjunction to my ascendant. My Pluto is on his son. We have a very loving, yet very intense relationship, and we have always had a very loving and very intense relationship. When he was born, 15 years ago, I was a 36 year old single mother. I was in the process of investigating Orisa worship (which is my ancestral tradition, confirmed through DNA analysis), and circumstances surrounding my son's birth propelled me into the religion. My son is the reincarnation of his great-grandfather (my grandfather). Divination had already confirmed that my life path was as an orisa priestess, and at his birth reading, it was confirmed that his path too, was the priesthood. Last year in April 2007, when Pluto was trine our sun/Pluto conjunction, we were both initiated into the Orisa priesthood in Nigeria. Has he changed my life and moved me closer to my destiny? You betcha. Have I grown immeasurably because he is here and because I have done whatever I needed to to do to try to meet his needs, putting his needs way above mine. Several people have accused me of being obsessive about his safety (probably true), and about him in general (again, probably true). He is very possessive of me, but since he is now 15 years old, 5'11 and growing, and possesses a bus card, a cell phone, and a key, he has a lot more freedom than he used to have and neither of us worries quite as much as we used to. His birth changed my life much more than the births of my friends children changed theirs, but there is no way I can even imagine what my life would have been without him. We do have power struggles, and so far I have won the vast majority of them, just because I am Mommy (being an Aries doesn't hurt either). He is a Leo but his Venus is in Cancer and his Mars in Libra (conjunct the moon-can you say MOM?), and he doesn't like conflict. I'm feeling that when he gets away from home I will see the strong will he showed me at 3 and a half (when he won almost all of the power struggles!) once again. I hope this helps.
Pam

Good question and thanks Pam for the example As I ALWAYS say, 'people are like permanent transits.' When looking at Synastry, the other person’s planets can be considered as a set of permanent transits. So if someone has an outer planet on your Asc, it is like having that transit ALL the time--all the time they are around anyway. Synastry contacts go both ways. If their Uranus is on your Asc, you feel your Asc -- your expression out into the world-- wake up in sudden, unexpected and zany ways. For them, YOU activate their Uranus and however that is situated in their chart. They become excited, (or agitated) around you, as a minimum. Can you see how this works? If you place the other person's planets around your chart including their angles, read it as if you were looking at transits or progressions. Then you can flip it, putting your planets and points around theirs. You start to see right away how the energy flows between the two. What's activated? What is waking up? Most importantly--what's called the 'compass question'--ask how you feel around the other person. What are you seeing in the mirror? Kim
