A fun one this, and it shows how being attentive to signs really does open doors for you!
I'd seen two Woodpeckers recently - one I caught briefly on TV, whilst flicking channels, one about 20 feet away on the fence in the garden where I work. They're quite common in the UK but I've never seen one in a garden. I had about five minutes to watch it. Two in a short time meant something, so I looked it up. It turns out it corresponds in Native American Astrology as Cancer - my sun sign - and Woodpecker is my spirit/totem animal. So he's come to guide me. And his messages are:
connecting to the earth understanding of rhythms (drumbeat) finding hidden layers
All reflecting what is happening to me with Pluto in Capricorn and the 8th house, and with opening up to Eros (and Lilith) energy through reiki healing and shamanic drumming. Wow! I've done an oil painting today of a woodpecker and have used tree bark and feathers left on my windowledge, I assume by a bird (my windows are 30 feet up!) I'll post it when I have a decent photograph.
Check out your spirit animal - have they visited you, either in the wild, in dreams, in overheard conversations or on TV? What are their messages? How do those messages correlate with things happening to you now?

I have had a set of the cards for years but never really got into them As English living in Oz some of the animals do not apply I suppose they may have equivalents I know when I did it I got the spider a lot and also a lot of spiders in the house and garden About planning and work I think........ but the effect on me was to move back to a less spidery enviro...........would never kill one ....... but would prefer to live separately from them But as I am now trying to get closer to nature maybe I should have another go with the cards.................
