Hi All, It's been a LONG time since I've posted. I need to take a last minute trip to the west coast this weekend and with Mercury being retrograde, I've been very worried that things are going to go askew. So, I decided to cast a horary when the question popped in my head at 12:15 PM today "Will I have a good trip?" Unfortunately, the ASC is at 1.55 Aqu which makes me think this chart is unreadable. What do you think?

Hi Sopranokris,
Nice to see you!
Usually less than 3 degrees on the Ascendant means 'it's too soon to tell', UNLESS you have the sun, moon or particularly the Ascendant at 1 degree of a sign in your natal chart. Then it's applicable. Because the trip is sudden, it's hard to see how it's 'too soon', but maybe something comes up, like the travel arrangements change or other circumstances alter.
Let us know how this applies, and keep seeing yourself having a smooth, easy and successful adventure. Energy follows thought, so keep thinking this trip the way you want it to be!
Warmly, Kim

Hi Kim, It's great to be able to finally post on the boards again. This site was blocked for quite a while at work, but the new web admins decided to unblock astrology sites so now I can come back....yeah! You're right, instead of worrying about what could go wrong, I should picture a nice, pleasant trip. I was just out there last week and things ended on a sour note. And it was all my fault. My jealousy got the best of me and we parted angry at each other. Luckily, we sorted it all out a few hours later when I got off the plane. I apologized (call it "once bitten, twice shy" syndrome!), he apologized and we both agreed we'd let it go and put it in the past. I think I'm just so worried that I'll make an arse of myself again this weekend And with Merc retrograde, I'm hoping I don't get another 6 hour flight delay like I did last week! OK, back to my mantra "the glass is half full...the glass is half full" Thanks so much for the quick reply, Kim. I'll definitely let you know how it played out. In the mean time, you'll be happy to know that the BF and I are still going strong after 2 years. We're still in a long distance relationship but we've made plans for me to move out there. The only thing holding me back is my ex. He's fighting me tooth & nail on taking my son out of the state and is now demanding full custody. <Sigh> Since he has no job, I have every right to move and he doesn't have a leg to stand on, but I also don't want to use my son as a pawn. He loves his dad, too, and doesn't want to move. I can't bear the thought of moving away without him...NO WAY! So, I'm racking up the frequent flyer miles until we can agree on a reasonable compromise for custody. (A whole other horary, but I'm not ready to ask THE question on custody yet) Take care, --Kristin

Well, it was an interesting trip, that's for sure! Mercury retrograde was DEFINITELY rearing it's head. But it was both good & bad. On the day I left, I kept thinking my flight was at 8 PM. I was taking my time getting ready to leave for the airport. I decided to check in online since I was only bringing a carry-on bag. Well, I got the shock of the day....my plane was supposed to leave at 6:15 and it was already 3:30 PM!!!! If you know Chicago, you know the traffic to the airport during rush hour is horrendous on a good day. My hair was still wet, I raced to finish getting ready, grabbed my bag and ran out the door. I had originally scheduled a car service to pick me up, but there was no way they could make it in time to get me and drop me off before my flight left. So, I jumped in my car and raced as fast as I could to the highway. And proceeded to end up in bumper-to-bumper traffic! AARRGGHH!!! I kept saying "it's OK, it's OK, you only have to get a boarding pass, you're fine". Traffic finally let up and I made it to the airport with about 45 minutes to go before my flight left. I parked, raced to the terminal, got to the check-in kiosk....and then got ERROR messages every time I tried to check in. Had to stand in line at the check-in counter. Tick, tick, tick.... I get to the gate agent and he said "oh, the reason why you couldn't check in is because that plane isn't going to make it here tonight. I'm sorry, you'll have to leave tomorrow" I was about to lose it and then thought better of it and said "since I'm a frequent flyer and I'm a gold member, is there any way I can be switched to another flight?" The guy mumbled something and walked away. I was about ready to start reading him the riot act when another guy walked up and asked if I'd been help. I explained what happened and he said "well, let me see if I can get you on a flight on another airline" So, here's the ironic part: he got me on a direct flight (instead of making a connection like I was originally going to do), I was upgraded to 1st class AND my flight left at 8 PM. There's that 8 PM that I had stuck in my head all day. Isn't that bizarre? I ended up arriving 45 minutes earlier on the changed flight than if I had made my original flight. It was great! Had a lovely, wonderful time in WA. Enjoyed myself immensely. I was worried about another dumb argument. We almost got into one on Saturday night. But we were both tired after a long car trip that day. The last 2 days were heaven. I'm waiting for the day where I don't have to fly back home. Hopefully, that will be soon Now, here comes the ugh! part of Merc retrograde: the trip home. My 1st flight was 40 minutes late, but with assurances that we'd make up the time in the air. Get to the connecting airport and race to the next terminal only to find out the next flight is delayed 30 minutes. Then 40 minutes. Then over an hour.....oh boy! By the time we left, we were 3 hours late. Didn't get back to Chicago until after 1:30 AM. Then I get back and...oh no!....I can't remember where I parked my car because I was in such a rush to get to the terminal when I got there. By the time I found my car and drove home, it was 2:45 AM. Whew! Boy was I tired. But even though the flight delays were annoying, I had a great time on my trip. It could have been worse. I always hate traveling during Merc retrograde, but all-in-all, I think the good far outweighed the bad.

Hmmm, it sounds like the ascendant may have represented when you got back. Rather than it was too early, it was later than it should have been at the end of the trip. I see that Gemini is intercepted in 9 too. I wonder if 3 is the trip there and 9 the trip back. Jupiter is the only one with natural dignity right now and he certainly likes to go 1st class.
