Hello people! I cannot hide my jubilation - Mars is no longer in Taurus! It has been a looooooong seven months or so (natal sun at 10 tau). Someone described this transit as 'wading through molasses'... I must admit that I did get an enormous amount of 'personal growth' done but not nearly enough exercise. So today mars contacts my natal Mercury at 0 Gemini and I feel like taking a run Joy! pm

Yes, this is a new burst of energy--Mars is what gets us up and out of bed in the morning, and Gemini definitely has a different approach to such things than Taurus!
The 'look' of Mars in Gemini is witty, (sometimes sarcastic!) zapping energy, intellectual prowess, alert and observant! This may not be a time of focused concentration, but oh how much will get done!!!!
It's a good time to get all mechanical things services or checked, debate ideas and forge new goals!
All of us with personal planets in Gemini will surly get a boost--one way or another!
Thanks for the post!
Kim ps...feel free to post these kinds of transits (sign ingress, Rx, conjunctions) on the calendar!)

I'll add a hip-hip-hooray, too ... no personal planets in Gemini, just my NN, which surely can use a boost when Mars gets to 7 degrees ... and maybe my Aquarius Mars will pick up some AIR power vicarioiusly! ... very tired of slogging through the mire of Taurus -- reminds me of dinosaurs stuck at La Brea Tar Pits ... Oh man... I'm right behind you all in cheering Mars in Gemini! Woo-hoo!!! I've got a Mars return about to happen at 03Gemini02, and I can feel Mars already energizing my Gemini Mercury & Venus, and by contact my NN & MC in Cancer. The feeling is of a great, wonderfully energized ramp-up, and I'm totally primed for action! ))) I haven't felt this perky in months! Mars did a lot of good for me while it was in Taurus and I feel sooooo ready to direct all that consolidated energy outwards now. I'm tying down my hat, cuz I'm ready for a wild ride! LOL samina

There seems to be much enthusiasm for this ingress! Samina, what does your Mars return look like? Perhaps you'll post it in the return thread, so we can have a look!
Mars cycles have much to do with work, getting our way and asserting our will. It's the energy that moves us forward and each return suggests how best we do that!

Hi guys.. I read somewhere that Mars' orbit is a bit like a 'slingshot' (spending 6 or so months in one sign and then whipping through the rest in 18 months). The last 8 months of Mars in taurus was a bit like that slow 'pulling back' part of preparing for launch. I feel as though I've been preparing and now is the time for some rapid change... does anyone else feel as though they are about to be catapulted into the stratasphere?? yesterday I was SO angry that every little thing caused me to blow my stack - and I spent the day alone! Mars has just contacted my Natal Mercury (at 0 Gem) and will shortly pass over Vesta (at 3 Gem) and Ascendant at 9 degrees Gem... I could use some first house energy! Later Mars will be opposite Natal 7th house Mars at 16 Sagg - eek! joy, pm ps. I look forward to those Mars Returns from Jade and Samina

Count me in as thrilled that Mars is moving on...
It's trek through Taurus seemed like an eternity...it was in my tenth house nuzzling up to my Moon for far too long (my natal Moon is at 8 Tau. and the Moon-Mars conjunction was a fixture of quite a few of my lunar returns as a part of that infamous fixed grand cross)...
Like Samina and Jade, I'm gearing up for a Mars Return myself at 15 Gemini on March 18th...looking forward to that and the new and exciting cycle it will bring...
I have to say, I find that that the longer a planet stays in a sign or a house, the more stagnant the energy becomes...it's really time to clear the decks for many people and I feel as though the Mars transition from Taurus to Gemini is like the first sign of Spring (metaphorically speaking)...I really love the slingshot analogy and it makes perfect sense!

Yes, Prima... I feel like the Universe has me tucked tight into a catapult, ready for launch! There's a lot of healing energy right now, too... a lot of emotional release because I've got Chiron heavily in the mix this week: Mercury conjunct, Jupiter trine, Venus just now leaving a sextile. All of this with the current Saturn/Chiron opposition has brought so much new clarity, but I feel emotionally wrung out tonite. Mars' impending return has a powerful flavor of New Era about it. I'll post the MR in the Return thread. I'm keen to hear anyone's insights. It's really been on my mind this past week.... there's so much I want to do with my life right now, dreams I want to make real, and I don't want to waste even an ounce of this Mars in Gemini energy! Jade, I'm curious to see how our two MRs compare, as well! And I totally agree... coming here and reading and chatting and exploring with you guys has really helped me make sense of some heady energies in the last six months! samina

Dear Friends,
Mars into Gemini first hit my natal 8th house Mercury at 1 Gemini and I allowed myself to be pulled into an extremely volatile situation between my mother and my brother and his wife. (My mother lives with them.) This took the form of phone conversations and email letters. Mars is also in opposition to my natal Saturn at 29 Scorpio in the second house. The stress around money in this situation is apt. I am wiped out emotionally. (Transiting Saturn is also in sextile to my natal Venus.)
Mars next hits my vertex at 5 Gemini, wanders past Dionysus and Prometheus, then on to my natal Sun at 20 Gemini and Sappho at 28 Gemini, all in the 8th house.
PM, Juliet and I have talked in the past about starting a thread on the 8th house, but you beat us to it. There is a book out by Marc Robertson called "The Eighth House" which is very interesting.
I sorta feel like the heart has been beat out of me lately.
Ya'll take care, Amoroso

Amoroso, here's a big hug for you too! I've felt my heart empty out these past couple of days, too. Mars is in my 8th house, too, and that sure can be intense, along with everything else.
Be sure to share about your experience of Mars conjunct your Vertex... Do you recall what happened the last time Mars passed that point in your chart?

Oh, m'gosh, you guys! Samina, I looked up when Mars went last over my vertex at 5 II in the 8th and it was about two weeks after my 7th abdominal surgery and there was a huge complication--an infected cyst burst an inch and a half hole through my belly button!
It was definately a turning point in my life. I realzed I could not continue living my life the was I was living it.
Talk about misused, misunderstood energy!!!!!
And for some reason I did not "get" that Mars is now going through one of it's own houses in my chart.
And now I need to go post something on the 8th house thread.
As usual, thanks for the insights!
Blessings, Amoroso

Jade, I knew you were about to shift but I didn't know you'd shift away from us! You will be deeply missed. You have contributed so much heart and wisdom... I feel myself going into shock that you won't be here anymore. I wish you all the luck and openness of Jupiter, the power of Mars, the vivaciousness of Venus, the wit of Mercury, the distinction of the Sun, the endurance of Saturn and most of all, the luminescence of the great goddess, the Moon--Isis, Ashera, Juno, Binah... I hope that you will reconnect with us when every you feel called to, even if it is just a light touch down before you take flight again. Love, Deep love, Kim

Jade,
Thank you for the gift of you! We will miss you very much. I do understand the need to disengage in order to forge ahead on something else. But please tune in every now and again and let us all know how you're doing.
And if we meet on Samina's island or Kim's island, please count yourself invited!
Blessings, Amoroso

Dear Jade, I am heartbroken ... ... I know if you are leaving us, it must be for your personal growth ... but I can hardly stand the thought that you won't be "here" anymore -- you are interwoven into the warp and weft of our tapestry of souls ... I can't imagine being without your wonderful, witty voice and true Aries warmth ... the kindness and consideration that has always been able to cheer your Pisces pal ... I will miss you terribly ... All my love, J
