Scorpy! How are you??? Like the slow one is on 2 degrees of the next sign and the Moon will only perfect a conjunction in that next sign? What planets do you refer to? There are different takes on this. Lilly apparently wrote this: "Conjunction. When two or more planets are within moiety of orbs in the same sign or in signs next to each other." Quote from an article from Jonathan Clark on VOC Moons: That Lilly used the void of course rule in this way is quite clear from an examination of the charts he judges in Christian Astrology. For example, in the chart "If finde the party inquired of at home?" (1) the Moon is at 26º43' Pisces and makes no other aspect before entering Aries. However, Lilly does not describe the Moon as void of course but notes that it "applies to a sextile dexter of Saturn" (2) - Saturn being positioned at 3º22' Aquarius. Sue Ward also uses out of sign applications here, in Chapter Dissociate Applications: www.horary.com/sward/sward5.htmlBut lots of astrologers do not use out of sign aspects in horary. I should study some of my horary charts to form an own opinion on this matter... Interesting question... Love, Juliet

Hi Scorpy, Good to see you! And, you're right, I'm an Ivy fan! She would say, "no, we do not count the conjunction to Saturn because the aspect is not completed before the Moon changes signs." She felt that the Moon was the 'timer' of the horary chart, showing all events that would unfold WITHIN the context of the sign she's in. Once she leaves the last degree of the sign, it's done...no more aspects are approaching (otherwise, where would it end? you could progress the moon through the whole zodiac and make every conjunction to every planet in the chart.) Does this make sense? I also know it's a bit of a conflicting area...where different authorities have different rules. You can help with research by watching that horary and seeing for yourself if there is a valid conjunction (eventually) or not...I mean, will there be an agreement reached as indicated by a conjunction? or is there really no aspect between rulers? Let us know!! Kim

Okay, while looking up the co-ruler reference, I found this: " If the Moon can not complete her final aspect because the planet leves the sign it is in before she reaches the necessary degree, the person will abandon the matter before it can be finished. (or because he thinks it cannot be accomplished). " pg. 49
"The moon is allowed every aspect she is APPLYING to from the sign she is in right up to the moment she leaves is. " pg. 20 Ivy Goldstein Jacobson (simplified horary astrology) Here is a link to her, and to astroamerica that has many of her books in stock. www.solsticepoint.com/astrologersmemorial/ivy.htmlKim
