dear group,
i have a horary here i have done about someone i used to be in a relationship with -- "Does G still love me?".
this is the background: i was dating a man with some psychological issues, and we enjoyed a long-term relationship. he left the country for a few months, promising to return and resume the relationship. however, when he returned, he had a relapse of his former problems and he told me that he was not in a state to continue the relationship. this is when i did the horary "Does G still love me?".
after doing this horary and studying it, i did another -- "Will I be reunited with G as friends/lovers like before?". i studied that one, then i did one more ''When will i be reunited with G?". i posted that one under the thread 'timing chart'.
i was wondering what you all think about horary questions. in a situation such as this, would the 1st chart have all the answers? i only asked if he still loved me, though, not if we would be reunited or when. does the chart *only* answer that question? this has been a confusing issue for me.
ok, now i will post the chart and share a few thoughts about it with you all:
first off, i'm the moon and he's saturn rx primarily. we are in mutual reception - he is in my ruler and i am in his ruler & triplicity. he is in my house and i am in his. we will eventually QUINCUNX each other (by mutual application since saturn is retrograde) in 8°. i don't know exactly how strong this aspect is or what it might mean specifically, but i do think it could possibly indicate an eventual re-adjustment or reorientation. it does relate to 6th house, health matters because a quincunx is 150° and that corresponds with the sign virgo.
the moon and saturn are also contra-parallel -- that does act as an opposition. the moon parallels the DC and saturn parallels the AC.
he is also mars: mars is on his cusp, plus mars is the almuten of the 7th house. mars also rules 5th house matters. i take mars to represent the happier part of him, the part of him that is not severely depressed. the moon and mars are parallel. mars is in capricorn, ruled by saturn: the depressed part of him favors the happier part of himself. mars however does not like where saturn is at since cancer is mars' fall: so the happy part of him does not like his depression or his need to be alone.
mars and saturn rx have separated from an opposition by 0°. these 2 sides of him are diametrically opposed. there is a t-square formed by mars opposing saturn rx and jupiter rx, which is his isolation & the end of his isolation (jupiter rules his 12th house and the 4th house from his 12th). jupiter rx sits in the 4th house of the end of the matter, applying to the IC.
jupiter rx and saturn rx are in mutual reception by exaltation: the depressed part of him exalts his isolation and the isolation exalts him.
his co-significator mars would be in his detriment in libra so the mars part of himself doesnt like his isolation (jupiter) at all. also, mars is in capricorn, and that's jupiter's fall, so his isolation does not like the mars part of himself -- they are in strong aversion to each other.
now mars + saturn rx have separated from an opposition, they have already split off. the *modern* definition of translation of light allows a planet that is faster than 2 sigs to apply to each sig in turn, therefore bringing them into a relationship with each other.
from anthony louis: "Many modern astrologers do not require reception by essential dignity and allow the faster planet to aspect both significators in turn, rather than separating from one and applying to the other. The modern definition is this: a third planet faster than both of the significators and in an earlier degree must aspect each of them in turn to translate the light and restore the potency of the separating aspect between significators."
what's happening is this: mars and saturn, both sides of him that represent different things, have separated from an opposition. the sun, which is a general significator of men, the sun does apply by sextile to mars and by trine to saturn. i do not know if this constitutes a genuine translation of light.
as general significators, the sun and venus do apply to conjunction in the 9th house, and this is the house that represents the end of the matter of his isolation.
as far as strength goes, this is a toughie. i dont want his isolation to be very strong, but jupiter does end up having some strength. i dont know his exact score, but jupiter is in his terms at libra 17°. also, he is strong in that he has reception with saturn (by exaltation), his depressed side. he is also angular in the 4th house. this gives him a fair amount of power, but he is retrograde and essentially beseiged -- he is caught between mars and saturn, the 2 sides of him that are opposed.
as far as the moon goes, she has a score of 14. she has some power, she is in strong reception with saturn, and she is angular in the 7th. she doesnt have any dignity in 12° aquarius though.
saturn isnt very strong, i think his score is 7. his saving grace is that he is mutual reception with me and he is angular in the 1st.
mars is the strongest -- he is in his own exaltation, plus he is angular in the 7th. he has a score of 27.
venus as the end of the matter, my hopes & wishes, and my general significator is fairly strong in her own exaltation. she is cadent though. i dont know her score.
the sun isnt all that strong. no dignity in pisces, plus he's cadent.
anyway, these are my observations on this chart. since reception shows inclination, aspects show occasion, and dignity shows the power to act, i'd at least judge from this chart that my feelings are returned. so i would say that yes, he does still love me according to this chart. the reception between us indicates a mutuality of interest or regard -- we are shown favoring each other, so we're not likely to harm each other. however, i don't know what the chart might say beyond that. the quincunx could indicate an event, and an eventual coming together after an adjustment of some sort. our general significators applying to conjunction in the house of the end of the matter of his isolation (boy, that's a mouthful) would appear to be favorable, and since the conjunction occurs in a mutable sign and cadent house this would be in keeping with the timing chart i did later on which seems to indicate a period of a couple of years (30 months to be exact).
march and mcevers say that the quincunx means that something else needs to happen before the matter can come to its fulfillment—therefore the quincunx, in and of itself, provides neither an affirmative nor a negative answer to a question. what do you guys think of the quincunx? have any of you encountered it in a significant way as part of a chart of your own?
thanks guys. i really am grateful for any input here -- any thoughts on what a chart can actually answer and any thoughts on quincunxes are genuinely appreciated!
sincerely,
chrissy
