Last night surfing, I stumbled across an article by an astrologer with an approach to astrology that I can completely relate to. This was very refreshing as I was getting somewhat despondent having just read a few books and articles which to me appeared to be very stale and stuck in the dark ages. I was pretty excited to find out this man also teaches astrology and offers a Mentorship Program for distant students. As much as I was interested, I have a history of signing up for courses and not completing them so I put it to the back of my mind (for a night anyhow!) Tonight I cast a horary chart and asked if I should sign up for the course. Unfortunately I didn't save the chart, but it had an early degree rising so I figured it was too soon to act and put it to the back of my mind again. I realised I needed to make a credit card payment if I wanted to sign up anyhow so I sorted that out and went offline for the evening. After dinner I had an impulsive urge to go online and check this course out again, just with the intention of reading about it....next thing I know I've signed up The chart for the moment I signed up looks pretty good from a Horary perspective (even if I do say so myself ) Not one stricture or traditional consideration (e.g planetary hours not relating to the asc, late degree moons, etc) to take into account. Most of the applying aspects are trines. Also quite interesting is that chart Asc/Desc axis is conj my natal MC/IC axis and the chart MC conjuncts my Sun. The only thing that really worries me is the applying Mars square to Saturn...I'm going to be an optimist and say that aspect will help inspire me to buckle down and be determined to actually finish the course! There's a few other things I could comment on but I've just realised it's past midnight and I need sleep, in the meantime ny further insights or comments most welcome folks ;D

Wouldn't Saturn so close to the Sun lesson Saturn's restrictive qualities?
And the square to Mars may imply some sort of frustration in getting organized or following through. But as long as you know that about yourself, I don't see it as a big deal. The aspect from your ninth house ruler, Jupiter, to the Moon looks very happy!
Blessings, Amoroso

Hi Amoroso Wouldn't Saturn so close to the Sun lesson Saturn's restrictive qualities? I'm not sure actually, but I hope it does because Mars squaring Saturn in the 4th fits with the frustrations I have about my current living situation.... an atmosphere not conducive to study. Right now that's more of a concern than me following my past pattern of getting bored and not finishing the course Good point.... I didn't take too much notice of that! (actually Jupiter is loosely conj my Natal Uranus/IC right now too) I was looking more from a Mercury/3rd House perspective as the course is beginner level so it feels like going to Astro Primary School to me! Which is not to say that I am going into this with my cup already full, I've got no doubts that I'm going to relearn the basics in an exciting new way and I'm going to have fun doing it! (Mercury in the 5th) I've studied Astrology privately (and with a Mentor) for over 20 years and my natal Saturn needs to "get the ticket" and also wants to make sure that any advanced study I end up doing is built on a solid foundation. (I'm under some major Saturn transits at the moment, so "now is the hour" for all this to be acted upon) S.A.

Hej StellaArcana!
I just had a peek at your chart there..
You are correct about the "traditional" considerations... and I'm not so worried about Saturn as much as I'm worried about that Mars/Sun (that's alot of energy especially with a chart that has Aries as the rising sign)
I love that you have added Urania, she is brilliantly there in trine to the Mars Chart ruler and you do want to study a course in astrology.. what a perfect complimet to energies there.. if anything an easy going "Yes" to anything in relation to those things in my book.
That conjunction of Urania and Venus trined Mars and Pluto say to me.. this will be an oportunity and that Moon coming into aspect with them seems to say there will be alot of emotional energy to temper the physical.. and to perhaps drive it..
5th house, 1st house and 9th house are all highlighted too...this is something you are doing for YOURSELF and your learning experiences and for pleasure... and it looks very very creative.
I hope that it will work out, but this seems to be a very positive learning experience which may lead to something creative or something which will involve "the future" of "love" for you. (just my interpetation of Urania conjunct Venus in the 5th)
Take care,
svenskasfinx

Hej Svenskasfinx! Thank you for your insights You have given me a few things for me to ponder on for sure. I'm not so worried about the Sun/Mars myself as it's a separating aspect and seems to reflect issues and incidents I had which led me on the journey to do this.... An astrologer (who shall remain nameless) had my blood boiling with his old style negative dogmatic and potentially damaging to people sort approach to astrology. I decided instead using the energy he stirred up in me by making intellectual mincemeat of him, that I'd go the "if you want to change the world, change yourself" route. I could feel an article on "Astrology for the Age of Aquarius" coming on, and it was while doing research for that when I came across this astrologer! The other thing is that you mentioned a lot of energy....my natal chart has only Aries MC as far as fire goes, I'm pretty much all Earth and Water (muddy waters ) basically I need a stick of dynamite up my backside to get me moving (even when I'm inspired) so I hope the amount of energy in this pariticular chart will be a positive thing for me. I love that you mentioned Urania I put Urania in the chart because I have Urania conjunct Neptune natally and transiting Saturn is currently trining them! I'm fairly certain this transit had a lot to do with me finding this particular course to do. I'm not sure how the "love" you mention will come into it, that could be interesting! I can say I am in love with the way this particular astrologer's mind works! (not romantic love.... I'm in love with Kim's astrological mind and a few other's as well!) I like your take on the creativity of it all. With natal Saturn Square Mercury, I can get stuck in mental ruts which aren't too creative! The courses I've attempted in the past have been along the usual traditional lines, which just feed this tendency and I've got bored and not finished them. I've realised through my current major Saturn transits (hitting my Mercury/Jupiter/Saturn/Neptune etc all at once) that I've had my ladder against the wrong wall as far as that goes. This guy teaches astrology from a Jungian psychological perspective (maybe reflected by Uranus in 12th), so yes, there is a great feel of creativity with all this....thank you for pointing that out Take Care S.A.

nice to know what I say makes sense sometimes I notice there is a that lasting mutual reception of Neptune and Uranus.. yours are respectively in the 12th and 11th houses.. how comfortable it seems.. also I sugest looking up (11518) Jung as well, I don't know where it is at the moment (kind of doing this on the run) if you think it may relate. The only reason why I looked up Jung to begin with is because I have an LJ friend named "Peter Jung" who is supposed to be a decendant of THE Carl Gustav Jung. He has Jung conjuct his MC in the 10th. It was a conicidence that was just too interesting. I feel anything related to the theories of Jung would be relant to using that asteroid.. but I can't be certain. It would be nice to know where the natal "Jung" is though. (mine is conjunct Erato in Libra in the 5th house) anyway have fun and take care and enjoy that course! svenskasfinx

I just checked out asteroid 11518 Jung In the "event chart" he is in 1st House at 18 deg Aries so he's trining the Mercury/Urania/Venus party as well as the Moon/Pluto...looks lovely! In my natal chart he is conj my Vertex! (which conjuncts the 11th House cusp of the event chart) cool eh! Thanks for that! Take care S.A. P.S. You make sense more than "sometimes"

StellaArcana, I haven't been able to read all these posts but I can say immediately that Mars is NOT applying to square Saturn. In Horary, no out of sign aspects are allowed. You're out of that woods!
Your ruling planet Mars, trines Venus and the moon makes a Grand trine in fire...you'll love the course, me guesses!!
I'll come back to this as soon as I've read everything. Running out of time again...
Kim
ps who's the guy? I'd love to see his site too...

You're out of that woods! Kim Hehe Kim I did notice that, but I was reading it as a regular event/election chart as well as looking at the horary aspects so I thought it might be a bit overly optimistic to not take it into account. (I'm such a Capricorn ) Perhaps the out of sign aspect helped me feel more optimistic about the aspect on some level. I'll run with your "out of that woods" assessment of that part of the chart and be positive about the restrictions on my peace and quiet at home! Thanks Kim P.S. I thought the separating Mercury opposition to Neptune was quite interesting taking into account the past "events" I discussed with you regarding the 3 people conjuncting my Aries Point (midpoint of my Mercury/Neptune)....It felt like a veil of delusions being suddenly removed so I could see right through them so clearly and move ahead with confidence in my own perspective. (something like that anyhow!)

Hej StellaArcana!
I just thought of something.. if Jung is at 18 degrees in the 1st house in this chart.. The conjunction of the North Node is rather important in relation to it all too..
Just a thought..
take care,

(11518) Jung is @ 11 Gem 39'37" conjunct my MC @ 11Gem48'4" I find this extremely interesting, and wouldn't have even known it was an Asteroid except for this thread. Since I was about 15 years old, I had always wanted to be a psychologist, and of all the famous ones, Jung of course to me has the most resonating system of analysis. I think that is one of the reasons Liz Greene is one of my most favorite astrology authors as well. My life took a different turn and I was not able to achieve my dream, although who knows what the future holds.. and if not this life maybe next go around
