Hello everyone! I hope that I am posting my instructions in the correct place, away from the activity but because it has been so asked of me, I will try once again to post instructions for posting charts. First you need an image (you can generate a chart if you have an account with www.astro.com and its totally free!) Then you can save the chart to your own computer.. The next step is to get a remote server, for example if you have a website and an address of an image.. and use image tags [ IMG ] which look like that only no spaces and another one with a back slash [ /img ] If you don't have a remote server, why not get a photobucket account at www.photobucket.com and then upload your charts there to post them in either images on the forum or Links if you don't feel like people seeing them directly.. (most of the charts are already the proper viewing size and shouldn't be altered-- however if you want your information to remain Anonymous you can use Photoshop clip the information out, and save your image to your computer and upload it to your remote server or photobucket.. what ever you wish.. If you need help, and messed up on some posting, I may also be able to help.. but the key is to TRY! I'll try to be around to catch people.. even if I'm not very consistant.. Take care all! Best wishes! Svensksasfinx

Hej Svenskasfinx I have tried posting charts a few times a while back, I have no problem with the general "how to"... the problem I am having is that between saving the chart, deleting the personal details and uploading it to my pic host, it somehow shrinks! I have it set at astrodienst at full size so I'm not sure what I am doing wrong Any ideas? Well when you save it on photo bucket, there is a "preveiw page" the charts there are just thumbnails, click on the image and you will see its real size unless you edited it on photo bucket, and then it will be a certain percentage smaller. I sugest you try this and click around to preview, and see the edit buttons.. I know its all rather tricky and its not set up very easy to read, but once you get the hang of it, I am so certain you won't have a problem. Another thing is, I know you know "how to" post charts because you posted your Sedna image.. (I remember that beautiful drawing) why not attempt to make it an image here using preview and post it on this thread as a practice.. You used a link, and any link which is an image can be shown on a forum (which supports images like this one) as long as you use the image tags and then close the tags with a back slash like this one / . Most of all Don't be afraid if you can make a link, and you want me to post it as an image, I'll show you and then you can see the code.. Ok? Hope I was clear, I just want you all to know I'm here to help. Take care:) svenskasfinx

Hello! I want everyone to know to please not delete any of your photo bucket charts! This forum and other forums are "referance points" Your charts are also.. When posting charts Kim asked that there be a copy on your hard disk or that the information for the chart had been SAVED so even if your charts have been deleted there are ways to get this information back. (for example if you have the chart on your http://www.astro.com) or if you have a copy on your hard drive) (I guess my Moon in Virgo in the fourth house conjunct Pluto is very emotional about keeping things especially information ) I understand some people NEED to delete.. thinking that they are running out of space but.. you don't need to delete charts or anything until your photobucket account is FULL.. THEY will tell you when it's full.. (It took me more than a year and a half to fill up my account (but with charts and web optimized and non optimized photos).. ) A remote server is a very useful thing.. as you do not need to be at home at your home computer to use your charts or information or images and it helps others because a large image so difficult to download on an e-post is easy to see via link in someone's e-post.. as they can choose to click.. and with e-post that supports HTML code, you can add the image to the post if you like. Some information about MY account: "Album size 23.45 Mb ( 93.8% ) Total pictures 562 Monthly bandwidth 14.75 Mb ( 1% )" The total size is supposed to be 25 Mb.. so I'm really using it to the edge .. I'm using this so much I'm actually thinking I should upgrade to an non-free account...(I recently deleted old yet saved matterials which were very large files there to keep some space open for CHARTS for this forum) perhaps if you do alot of photo bucket things, you can have a different account for strictly CHARTS. I wish I had but I don't want to move any of my charts because I don't want to break a link. Best wishes from the Astrological Pack rat! (I love my charts ) ( I love shiney things too! ) svenskasfinx P.S. in the future anyone having a problem with saving their own charts posted on the forum, mention it so I can save a back up for you to keep it going up for the future . P.S.S. I hope I'm not annoying anyone with this.

Hi Sfinxi (it wasn't until I read your posts about Isis and Osiris that I got the SPHYNX connection -- ha!) ...
I am also a packrat about info and, in addition, technologically challenged ... so in my convoluted way of getting charts onto photobucket, I started out using an intermediate step of saving them in my Paint program as a gif, giving me backups of everything ... Although, now I am getting a little worried about having things stored only on my hard drive (my computer has been acting up), so I am planning to buy a "memory key" to store all my pictures, charts and writing files ...
Cheers, J

Hello, I've diligently read all you wrote but have understood a blooming nothing I know it's my fault ;D I've just posted a new thread on the Horary section but the chart is not there. I've got it on my desktop and I thought all should do it was just to save on the page of the post. but, alas! it isn't so. I'll never make it. Can't I just paste it on the reply page??? thank you. lechedesierpe (new)

Hi Lechedesierp, Welcome to the forum. You can't past images (charts etc) from your computer directly to the forum. They must be hosted on the WWW, and the forum links to them. Here are the steps in a 1, 2, 3, fashion. 1. Join photobucket, a free hosting site. photobucket.com/2. on your member page, click 'browse' . This opens YOUR computer so you can go to your desktop and find the image or chart you want to post. 3. click Up LOAD 4. you will now see a thumbnail of your chart in your 'album' 5. below the chart are options for how you can link the image 6. HIGHLIGHT the last one, the IMG CODE by clicking on it. That automatically copies the code. 7. PASTE the code into your forum message. Do this from the ‘REPLY’ page, not the ‘quick reply’. 8. Bingo, the chart appears. TIPS If the chart is a very large file or large in dimensions, it’s going to take time to load or distort the page. Format the chart to something reasonable in size for readability and loading time. You can preview the page before you upload it onto the forum to see if it’s looking good! If any of these steps don't work or you get stuck, post your problem here and I or other techy-nerds will happily set you straight. :0 Kim Good Luck everyone.
