Hello. I am posting my solar return to get your opinion on the subject of a stubborn obsession I have been harboring for several months about an old Lover. I think it looks like no end in sight for this emotional burden because of the opposition of Pluto to Venus in the 8th. What do you think? I should mention that the vertex is conjunct my natal Uranus, the moon is exactly square my natal venus, and the MC conjunct my Part of (Mis)fortune in my natal 12th house. I look forward to your opinion/comments. Thanks

Hi Moondance, Well, I see things in a slightly different manner. Aspects are energies, and not positive or negative per se. Remember the Free Willy from Gem in the Priapus thread... Obviously this Venus-Pluto opposition represents strong energy, intense feelings around sexuality and intimacy. Also Mars is involved, trines Pluto and sextiles Venus, to add to all the libido. Which is sexual, but also 'just' zest for life, passion in general. This aspect is telling you something about what energies in you need care and expressing, and there is not one way to go about it. Obsession obviously is one answer, but taking care of your sexual and intimacy needs can be done in a lot of different and ultimately more self serving ways. Finding great sex might be one, or healing yourself, or both. Since Venus is involved, it would be nice to share with someone else. Also, it seems telling that only now you are realizing something about the way you reacted to intimacy in your past, which probably had to do all with your unsafe youth. Mars involved tells you that willpower and self-determination rather then determinism are involved. Mars is the ruler of this chart, had you noticed? It is on the MC, so would like some place in the public eye. In a Leo manner. Please, try to give yourself some space. Some Moon in 5-space. How does that obsession serve you now? What does it create in your life? In what natal house is SR Mars?? 2 or 3?? Blessings, Juliet

Thanks for the more positive slant,J. I will think about it.
My natal Mars is in the 10th, sextiled by Saturn,Pluto and Neptune. I guess I've ignored Mars in the SR chart because that Venus Pluto opposition slapped me in the face. ;D

Moondance, What I meant was: in which natal house is that 26 degrees Leo Mars?? Blessings, J

J, I realized what you meant after I went offline. The Mars, alas, falls in my natal 12th, 7 degrees from the asc. Was there a particular reason you asked? It's just all the energy that's been going in to 12th house matters, I guess, or classic "self undoing" or something...

I wish I had something to offer that relates specifically to your question moondance7, but I just wanted to mention that you and I have the same birthday (different year) and my solar return has the same planetary placements as your SR chart, just with a different asc. (my SR asc. is 11 Capricorn and my SR moon is at 15 Aries)...also, you and I both have Venus in Cancer natally (mine's 13 Can) and Mars in Gemini (15 Gem)...your natal asc. is at 3 Virgo and mine's at 3 Leo, but I digress... I think it's interesting that your SR asc. is in tight conjunction with your natal Jupiter (and your SR Jupiter is conjunct the SR asc), further emphasizing issues related to your own natal Jupiter and your current/upcoming Jupiter Return (if you haven't done so, run a chart for trans. Jupiter's final conjunction of your natal Jupiter, which is basically happening right around now...that's your Jupiter Return chart for the next 12 years or so)...perhaps that will further illuminate the situation a bit (?)...Jupiter tends to expand and exaggerate experiences, feelings, beliefs, issues, etc....further highlighted by the venus-pluto opposition, the venus-mars sextile, and the mars-pluto trine in your SR chart...your natal Jupiter AND trans. Jupiter are squaring your natal Saturn-Pluto conjunction (in your 12th)...Saturn-Pluto conjunct can lead to obsessive-compulsive tendencies in and of itself and when you add Jupiter into the mix, it can make the proportions colossal... Jupiter (in your natal 3rd) seems really big for you...it sort of links your 12th house stuff (the squares) with your 11th house Cancer stellium (all those nice trines)...I don't know where I'm going with this really, but for some reason, I feel the answer resides in Jupiter... I hope that helps somewhat?!

Hi,LR. Thanks for your response. I will run the Jupiter chart and see what I can ponder out of it. Jupiter square the 12th house stuff is rather permanent, isn't it?.
I always figured Jupiter was important in my chart but I worked with a jungian astrologer for a chart analysis and he insisted Neptune was of more importance. I think it's square to natal venus and moon just feed my obsessions. Thanks again.

Well Lunariviera, I looked at my jupiter return, and now I'm REALLY depressed. It seems devoid of relationship and full of frustration and limitation. Oh well, maybe next lifetime.

Well Lunariviera, I looked at my jupiter return, and now I'm REALLY depressed. It seems devoid of relationship and full of frustration and limitation. Oh well, maybe next lifetime. I'm so sorry moondance7 for confusing the issue and making you MORE depressed... I wouldn't determine the state of relationships with a Jupiter Return chart, that seems more in line with a Venus Return (and if yours is anything like mine for the upcoming year, which it certainly is since our Venuses are conjunct, it's really quite nice...complete with a grand trine between Venus-Jupiter-Uranus)...Jupiter tends to relate to our beliefs and it highlights areas in which we can grow and expand our consciousness (a journey into "foreign" territory)...I just thought for you, Jupiter might shed some light on areas in which you can modify or take a more philosophical approach...it can also draw your attention to aspects of your life that may benefit from optimism, rather than pessimism... I don't think squares are all that permanent, I think they present challenges, but it goes back to the theory that the squeaky wheel gets the oil...so usually where we meet the most resistence is where we can ultimately see the most progress because we spend so much more time working on our problematic issues, rather than our innate gifts (trines)...so much so, that our efforts in those "departments" are bound to undergo some sort of evolution since we're directing so much more energy towards them...

moondance7, I have a feeling that things may be changing for you for the better, or at the very least, the issues surrounding your feelings of obsession for this lover will come to a head...In late October/early November, there will be a rare stellium in Scorpio...the Sun, the Moon, Mercury (Rx), Venus, Mars, and Jupiter will all be in the sign off Scorpio...this will obviously occur in your natal 3rd house (and occuring around your SR asc.)...that's a lot of planetary activity around your natal Jupiter...and since you have a natal stellium in Cancer in your 11th (the Sun, the Moon, Venus, Mercury), you'll be experiencing quite a bit of trine activity in a concentrated period of time...but also be aware that these transiting planets will be squaring your Saturn-Pluto conjunction...so I think the issues related to that configuration will be even more apparent, but it seems to me that with all that positive energy flowing between your 3rd house and 11th house (turbo charged), you'll start to see some paradigm shifts for the better...at least that's how I "believe" things might go for you...

hej, I thought I'd point out that although I don't know the natal chart this chart seems to sugest something to do with cognative therapy, perhaps something you can do for yourself: for example the emphisis on Jupiter in the 12th on the ASC of this chart (in Scorpio) Pluto/Venus opposition in the 8th and then the Sun (solar return after all!) conjunct Mercury in the 9th definately something would be gained to the perpsective of this year in looking back a little (Mercury retrograde) but it could also be theraputic, with a tradtional counciler, or a psychoanalyst.. (Pluto opposition Venus in the 8th) And then the fact that Pluto is in the 2nd house could bring about new perspective on self-esteme issues.
I just heard a quote today about a cognative therapy for people who are obsessive compulsive, and it seems to be easier to fall into the problems of obsessive thought when your self esteme is at a low.. this is much easier for your to get to grips with if you can talk it out with someone who could help you to gain a new perspective on your old relationship and help you work past it without it becoming a trap for your self doubts.
Be realistic, and take it easy on yourself. Perhaps if you have a safe environment to talk about these things it could make less any hold it may have on you if you are aware its there. Remember one of the key words for opposition IS AWARENESS... either you become aware of it, or someone makes you aware of it.. Jupiter in the 12th may help you with that too.
Be well, sorry I haven't been reading up on things here as much as I think I should, and I hope this helped.
