Hi Kim, When an eclipse comes before a return within a short span of time and since the return configuration has not actually taken place, when it does (post eclipse), what kind of an effect is there? With the nodes of the return in the same degree of the eclipse I would imagine there might be some further activation of the nodes emphasizing the house placements the node is in? Thanks Kim~~! Jade

Hi Jade,
This would depend on what kind of return you were doing.
If it was a Jupiter Return that was in place for 12 years, there probably wouldn't be too much significance to the transiting eclipse over the return chart unless it triggered something major like an angle or personal planet. The nodes would be activated at that time though, yes, and you would perhaps have a clearer indication at that time of 'where to head' or 'what to hang on to and what to let go of.'
If it was a solar or lunar return, the eclipse would trigger the Sun (or Moon) and activate it strongly at that time (that would, of course, be reflecting the eclipse transit to the natal Sun or Moon as well, which may be the 'stronger' indicator. I'd be inclined to note the natal house being transited, but worth a look in the return chart as well.
How close do you mean?
Can you give an example? It might make more sense then.
Kim

Thanks Kim,
The Solar Eclipse NN degree we had on 3/29 was @ 4.22. A difference of .93 deg. of natal Merc., .01 of SR NN, .08 MR NN and .18 of Merc. Return NN.
As one can imagine juggling these charts has been a bit of a challenge, but if I look at the node degree, looks like in each case natal 10th house is activated with Merc.
Thanks!! Jade

Yes, these charts highlight your 10-11th house cusp really. I think the emphasis in each case is a movement towards 'greater possibilities that you've always dreamed of". It's a feeling of taking what you've worked hard for and established and daring to move it up to the next level. This would be in areas of life reflected by the return houses--3rd house written and spoken word, 11th house 1-to-many experiences with groups, friends and like-minded others, and 6th house day to day, work, ritual and routine. Forgive me for getting sidetracked here, but on a related note, does the same apply for general lunations?!
For example...my next Lunar Return occurs on April 27, the same day as the Taurus New Moon...my natal Moon is 8 Tau. and the lunation is occurring at 7 Tau....does this then activate the LR house the lunation falls in or do we look more specifically at the natal house?!
Sorry jade for hijacking the thread!!!

hey there luna, celeste teal has a great 3 part article on predictive astrology which starts here: www.astrologyzine.com/predict.shtml#ASTROLOGY:here's the 2nd part: www.astrologyzine.com/predict-2.shtmland here's the 3rd part, this is the part you want to pay special attention to (it has the section on reading solar and lunar returns): www.astrologyzine.com/predict-3.shtmlshe says: "A New or Full Moon appearing in either return chart has special significance. The New Moon shows the birth of something new and a sort of congealing of separate energies into one area that stimulates enthusiasm. The sign and house position of the New Moon gives the details, and unless there are many adverse aspects to the configuration, it is usually one to look forward to. The Full Moon is indicative of the completion of something and again it usually shows the culmination of a cooperative effort in accordance with the signs and houses involved. A Full Moon is slightly more inclined to signify an unfavorable event than a New Moon." so your lunar return in late april has a new moon in the 8th house. new beginnings on the psychological front? you gotta think about how it relates back to the natal, too, this new moon occurs in your 10th house, so perhaps a fresh new start with public appearances/on the job type thing will happen for you. since it's a lunar return, it's just in effect for the month and really relates more to your feelings than anything else. hope this helps! c
