In my 2005 solar return I have jupiter with the south node in libra on the third house cusp along with my natal pluto. I'm mostly interested in the south node/pluto connection. I heard this was an explosive connection. Any ideas?

Dear Iana,
This is a very interesting question about Jupiter/Node in the return 3rd.
First up, don’t panic! We all have Pluto somewhere in our charts and re rarely explode from the impact! What you have to consider is where Pluto is natally, what personal planets are aspected and how you express that energy in your life. The transit (and return contact) from Jupiter/Node will awaken Pluto—sure—but there is much you can do to prepare. Mainly, you can begin with non-judgmental introspection.
Jupiter/Node in Libra in the solar return 3rd (is that right?) is about the expansion(Jupiter) of relationships—sibling, community, those part-way related (3rd) from the past (S. Node). You may find that opportunities (Jupiter) pop up around cousins or community/neighbourhood projects. You may be involved with the written or spoken work. Certainly, there is much to express, lots of talk, lots of travel from a to b.
What is the chart ruler of the Solar return? Which house in your natal chart is on the solar return ascendant? Where is Venus (Libra’s ruler).
Let’s look at a bigger picture!
Thanks for the question. Warmly, Kim

Thanks Kim for responding,
I experienced this pluto/node contact a couple of years ago in a solar return, and it did coincide with me and someone from my past apologizing to one another for past issues ( the ex I talked about in the synastry section.) Honestly, it didn't go to well, because I didn't want to renew any kind of relationship. I'm wondering if I'll actually come into contact with this person again. I looked at both of our solar returns and there are some pretty strong ties with the pluto/node/jupiter. Unfortunately, saturn is square all of these. I actually am sort of afraid. He's not the type of person to full around with!
The ruler of the solar return ascendant is mercury and it's conjunct my natal sun and south node in aquarius in my seventh house. The solar return ascendant falls in my first house, and the s.r. venus is conjunct s.r. neptune on my natal descendant. A lot of venus activity!

Dear Iana,
That is a lot of Venus activity. The one thing I have seen so strongly in 7th house Sun people is the inexorable urge to relate to others in to help define who they are. Aquarius aside (Sun trine Pluto aside!) this is NOT the indicator of a lone wolf! (even if sometimes that is what you want!)
I think you have something very important to say, important to teach and you will attract those who will facilitate this for you in some socially significant way. I don’t think you will come into contact with this person again, unless it is completely unresolved and that lack of clarity is holding you both back in some way. It’s interesting. I understand the trepidation. You just have to be brave!
I think it is going to be a very important year coming up for you! I look forward to hearing about what this Pluto/Node brings.
Warmly, Kim
