I would interpret Moon on the Sa/Pl as tremendous potency. Emotional fortitude! It's a kind of intense resource of strength that little can rock. Think of those you know with a Saturn/Pluto conjunction. OMG and goddess! Talk about impervious, tenacious and capable. These people are survivors! Now, connect that to your instinctual wisdom. Still sound gloomy? Robert Hand's "Horoscope Symbols" has the basics of midpoints. It's not a bad textbook to have on the shelf. Here's a summary of his view on Moon/Sa/Pl: "Emotional transformation and the ability to withstand difficult situations. Powerful containment of emotion" He does give Saturn some pretty bad press though (most astrologers do). Read Ebertine--he's the authority on the Uranian school of midpoints (90 degree dials etc). Your best way to learn about planets or transits to midpoints is to connect with the symbolism yourself. What does Saturn/Pluto mean to you? What do these gods need, want and have to offer? What does the mistress of the night "do" with such potent energies. You will find that the answers are more in yourself that in the textbooks. Though read them...by all means. Read everything you can get your hands on. Then make up your own mind by understanding what the symbolism means to you. Kim

This is just an aside on midpoints.-- I was recently going through old emails trying to find an address, and I came across a rather lengthy email C sent me dated January 7. It was the first time he had contacted me since he left his lessons in mid-November. On a whim I looked up the transits to that day, and was amused to note that Transiting Mercury was opposing his Eros/Mars midpoint exact that day!
Midpoints never cease to amaze me. When I looked up transits to the birth of my children--almost all planets were contacting or in exact opposition to, major midpoints.
