I notice something odd today looking at my synastry with Doc--a number of zero degree quintiles? They are: Mercury quintiles Sun and Uranus 0 Juno quintiles Moon 0 Neptune quintiles Pallas 0 Venus quintiles Lust 0 (have to be typical don't I.. ) I think I understand the quintile in the natal, but how does it play in synastry? I see that my Mercury quintiling his sun and uranus and I immediatley think of our constant communication--inside the lines, outside the lines, in work ways, personal ways, etc.. I am especially curious about the Juno Moon one... Any thoughts, expreinces or good info on quintiles in syanastry?

erosastrology.proboards26.com/index.cgi?board=syn&action=display&thread=1106698786We have spoken of Quintiles previously.. Although Quintiles are considered "easy" aspects, I feel they have an especially "darker" side if not paid attention to...either when in the Natal Chart, or in synastry..but there is something of a creative element to it but also a dynamic mix of things which "wouldn't normally work together" as quintiles are elements which are not exactly "harmonious". The most confortable and yet nerve racking relationship of my entire life which still perplexes me to this very day is between me and a somewhat famous pop/punk star. His Sun and my Sun are exactly Quintile (my Sun and his Sun are also the midpoint of our own Mars/Venus midpoints as well/ this also means his Mars/Venus midpoint is exactly equal to my Eros/Ceres conjunction..) There is alot more than the Quintile going on, but between the two of us we are both seen by each other as creative people to be respected (this I didn't know until I heard what he says about me behind my back.. and I was blushing!) He is a good friend, but there is a spark in the air like no friend I have ever known.. I wonder if its just because of what he does for a living, all those romantic songs he writes or is it just the way I see him, but my feelings for him truly worry me. I love my husband, but often I bare the brunt of all the disapointments and failures of everyone in the house so when I actually have someone tell me things I love hearing, even if I'm not "hearing it" but rather reading it.. it means alot to me. My friend actually "saved" the day between my husband and I.. although he told me kind things and things that made me cry, and then was so kind, I went back home, quiet and compassionately, to the man my friend says is "neglecting" me. It shouldn't be surprising his Sun/Eros/Mercury/Psyche falls in my 11th house. I thank him for being my friend, and a small flirt My natal Sun and Venus is quintile Uranus; My natal Mars is Quintile Pluto, Vesta and Saturn. and my Sun is Quintile Saturn which makes the Sun the midpoint between Saturn and Uranus.. but that's another set of things all together.. I mention midpoints and such because they are the key to some of the aspects we don't regularly use such as quintiles and biquintiles. There is more information about quintles on the link to the thread I posted.. if not well do something else.. best wishes, svenskasfinx P.S. my husband and I have his Venus in Aries quintile my Mars in Cancer (his natal Moon is Quintile his Venus)

dear blueorchards, (<-----i can't believe i wrote your name this way. here i am correcting myself just so you know i know it's blueorchids, but i kind of like "blueorchards" and don't have the heart to erase it!)
i came across this passage about quintiles in synastry a long time ago, and i saved it along w/ some other information on quintiles because i am interested in them. i have an exact natal natal quintile between the 2 final dispositors of my chart, venus (chart ruler) and jupiter. i am a very creative/artistic individual (chart ruler venus in aqua in 5th conjunct NN) and i enjoy being very innovative/inventive in my job/art (i'm a graphic designer by trade).
it's a rather cookie cutter type of interpretation but i thought you still might like to read it. i think the main thing to consider is that the individual's chart is first and foremost -- does the individual have natal quintiles indicating that they have familiarity with that energy? that sort of thing. also, in synastry i've come to the conclusion that the most important aspects are the conjunctions, oppositions, squares (they seem to really and truly dominate connections) -- the trines & sextiles are nice, but more like supportive, background energy. the minor aspects are less noticable and are likely to manifest over time, with the likelihood of coming to the foreground quicker if you've got say maybe your venus quintile one side of his uranus/moon opposition.
in my current relationship with gordon (who has asperger's syndrome) i have a number of near exact quintiles --
my moon/his pluto my sun/his moon my jupiter-neptune conjunction/his mercury
he has some natal quintiles as well. pretty interesting, as i do find the following blurbs i am going to quote quite true...i think the quintile energy resonates as a playful, creative energy. i think if i'm responding to any of those quintiles i share w/ him it's the my sun/his moon one, because that seems to really be at the heart of our deep friendship (with a little somethin extra).
here's the blurbs:
The Quintile is the creative, willing risk taking, playful and joyful dimension of the relationship.
If you find these there is joy to be found in the relationship. It might be through children, through work or just simply enjoyment of each other and a common involvement with arts, music etc. These people are prepared to take a few chances, and will tend to lay it all on the line to each other so there is indwelling honesty. This is where the love affair can continue into old age. It is a solar kind of energy and if it's between personal planets, they each shine and bask in each other's glow. It occurs in partnerships in artistic fields. Individually they may be mediocre but together they're dynamite. They bounce off each other, feed each other, inspire and resonate off each other. The vibration is wonderful. It brings the facet of playfulness to the relationship, a childlike quality that means there is an area, which is fun. So, of the minor aspects you can't do better than a quintile. It's the Best Friend energy that can keep a relationship alive and vital. But it goes a little further because it empowers the individuals to be creative and fruitful within the relationship.
Quintiles are measured from plus or minus seventy-two degrees. Bi-quintiles are measured from plus or minus one hundred and forty four degrees which is one or two fifths of a circle. When planets are quintile or bi-quintile this is an indication of uncommon creative energy and talent. They are trend-setters and need an audience. The energy here is specialized and purposely striving toward power. Quintile and bi-quintile energy can be romantic, playful and demonstrative. The quintile family of aspects can indicate science, math and engineering. There's a need to make things happen. Cosmic will seems to be at play here, so if creative things aren't happening, then look for destruction. Quintiles and bi-quintiles bring a certain dignity, clarity, pride and unusual sexual energy. A quintile resonates with the Sun, Fixed, Fire and Leo energy.
hope this helps ya!

Thanks Chrissy! I love the creativity/playful aspect of the quintile. The creative aspect is particularly important to me with our sun/uranus/mercury synastry.
