Dear All,
I am TOTALLY gone on transits right now. I started with looking at when my husband and I "fell" in love--it was roughly about the same time. Then I looked at when I fell for C.
What is interesting to me is the role the female asteroids (Vesta, Juno, Ceres, Pallas) played in the timing of things. And of course, Eros was present.
I was just looking at straight conjunctions to natal and composite planets. I didn't even look at aspects, with the exception of one midpoint that lept out at me.
With John: Transits to my natal included 7 conjunctions, including transiting Psyche right on my Chiron/Eros.
Transits to his natal included 6 conjunctions, including Neptune on his Eros and Psyche exact on his Mercury. (his chart ruler.)
Transits to the Composite chart: among others, transiting Juno at vertex exact and T. Vesta at the North Node.
Transits to Progressed Composite: among others, Neptune at Juno and Juno at Chiron.
With C (and this looks two-way, but this is just an academic exercise at this point,)
Five conjunctions to my natal, including Transiting Eros exact on Apollo and transiting Sappho at exact midpoint of my Lust and Vertex.
Five conjunctions to his natal, including transiting Venus exact on his Saturn, and transiting Eros on his Asc.
The composite shows, among others, Transiting Venus conjunct composite Sappho (surprise, surprise), and Transiting Juno at composite Eros.
The progressed composite shows 8 conjunctions, including transiting Juno on Eros and Jupiter on Sappho.
When I can get to this again, I want to look at transits when my children were born, some family events and a couple of professional milestones.
Anyone else have examples of the "results" of transits?
A bit long-winded tonight! Amoroso

Hi! I am new here and just took the time to examine the transiting planets and asteroids on the day that my love and I 'connected' and knew...OMG! The number of conjunctions literally has shocked me. How tight did you measure the conjunctions? We had several each that were exact in each of our natal charts. The rest of the conjunctions within 3 degrees or less numbered 10 or more each! Just for fun, I picked a random day (such as today) and it did not even come close...of course today was not as special as THE DAY! LOL!! The ruling chart's planet for both of us was aspected with a conjunction of the other's ruling planet in each chart on that date. Wow. I am just breathless. Next I will take a look at the composite but I don't think astro.com does transits for the composite. Is there a better place to calculate it online? Very interesting observation. It never ceases to amaze me when something significant happens in our lives...the transits ALWAYS back it up!! Thanks! GemStar

What a great idea for a thread! Thank you Amoroso. I know I am going to have a lot of fun with this one. Because I have Venus/Jupiter conjunct, sextile Pluto on the Ascendant in Leo, I have "fallen" a lot. A whole lot! It's just the nature of the beast! I thought to check two "event" charts for transit conjunctions to start with. These were totally head over heals, ass over tea kettle in love! In one, transiting Juno, Pandora and Sappho where all conjunct on my Venus/Jupiter---What else could I have done? In the other, transiting Neptune was on my Psyche and his Eros, Transiting Eros/Ceres conjunct my Neptune, T. Chiron on my Vertex--I'm still dreaming about that one! I'll have a look at some of the long term relationships and see what comes up there. Anyone else have "Falls" to report? Let's keep it to conjunctions only to start with. Great idea Kim

Another 'fall'.... with my ex, same moment for both of us. (I wrote '[glow=red,2,300]birth[/glow] of us', what would Freud have to say?) Sappho and Eros were conjunct on the 'Midpoint' between his Sun and my Moon. To his natal 10 conjunctions, most noticable, transiting planet first: Moon - Sun Juno/Uranus - Vertex Axis As-Des reversed on his as-des Jup/Psyche - MC Venus-Jupiter Pallas- Pluto Vertex - Eros/Uranus/Pallas Pluto/Chiron - Venus To mine eleven conjunctions, most noticable: Jup/Psyche- Juno Sun - Vertex Venus-Sun Ceres-Venus Vertex - Eros (with Sappho and Psyche close) So yes, Amoroso, your assumption on the female Asteroids is valid in our case too! To him, Pallas transits have proven very important through the years. I wish I were more of a Venus/Jupiter gal, Kim... But what about your Gemini Sun?? Although the number of serious serious serious loves seems to be roughly the same for everyone! Juliet

OH, it was so much fun reading about other transits!
GemStar, I kept the orbs pretty tight--under 2 degrees. But we all have experienced wider orbs being extremely valid. (see below) As for figuring out transits to the composite, I just listed out what the transits were to my natal at a given time, and compared those transits to the composite and progressed composite.
Juliet, I wrote a similar thing about "birth" with C, I think it describes things perfectly.
Kim, no wonder you ended up studying Eros! That Venus/Jupiter conjunction and your Chiron sextile Eros would do it.
I also tried to look up transits to "first meetings." I really couldn't find anything with my husband, because our first meetings were not very memorable and he doesn't even remember when we first met.
But with C., well, it was pretty memorable, although at that point not in a falling in love way. So I looked up those transits and shouldn't have been surprised.
I only had a couple of major conjunctions to my natal (how many does it take, I wonder?) but was bowled over at the transits to his natal.
Transiting Sappho/Juno/Psyche and my maiden name asteroid--I use this name professionally and we met through my work--were all conjunct his Uranus. That same maiden name asteroid in his natal is within 6 degrees of his Uranus, which meant all those asteroids had to pass over that name on their way to Uranus. AND, and I know we are keeping things to conjunctions, but in synastry, my maiden name asteroid is tightly opposed to his Uranaus. Mind Boggling. To say this is a Uranian relationship is an understatement. Transiting Moon was direct on my Moon/Uranus conjunction at this first meeting.
Other transits to his natal at the time of first meeting were
T Sun on Juno T Mars on Neptune/Eros and Mars at their midpoint! T Jupiter on BML T Neptune on Vesta/Ceres T Pluto on Neptune/Eros T Eros on Chiron
At this first meeting there were fewer conjunctions to the composite and progressed composite, but what I found interesting is that the p. composite showed Chiron on Eros exact--an echo of what was in his natal.
I wonder what I will find at the birth of my children? Wish I could play with these charts all day.
Blessings, Amoroso

I can mention that the birth of my son, which changed my life dramatically forever, has some intense conjunctions! Just a few EXACT ones are: You get the idea...This is one "in love" that never fades! : ) Kim

And, The day I met my son's father (my ex) i remember quite vividly. We were in a hallway of a Vet hospital, both facing opposite directions, talking to other people. Then, at the same time, we turned around, looked at each other and he reached out his hand. He said, "Hi, I'm Dr. Briggs. You'll be with me for a while" (he meant I'd be working with him for a while in the surgery rotation...but it was really quite fortuitous wording) I felt like someone had tossed a bucket of ice water over me. I'll never forget the premonition I had then. These are the EXACT transits that stand out for me: (and it was love at first sight!) Again, the 4 major goddesses are quite prominent by transit! Anyone else? :DKim

Hi everyone, WOW, awesome thread; I'm loving it! I'm new to this forum, like GemStar (hi, Gem, remember me? ) I'm fairly new to this (esp. figuring out transits), & just thought I'd take a crack at it. I have a question before I get into it though. I read somewhere that the First Meeting chart becomes less important if some other important event superceding that has occured in your life - is that right? Like, after you first met, your first date, first kiss, engagement or wedding date would take on more importance - i wonder if this is so. I looked back to our First Meeting chart and to the one where I finally let him kiss me (this was a few months after we realized we were in love with each other!), and thought I'd look at the synastry between each of our natal charts & the chart for that day/time (incidentally, there were THREE Grand Trines & a New Moon that magical night!). So, is that how y'all did it? Here's what I found for me: My Pan & Neptune conjunct transiting Pluto My Adonis, Part of Fortune, Moon, Mercury & Mars conjunct transiting Aphrodite, Vertex, Chiron & Nessus My Anteros conjunct transiting Neptune & Pallas My Venus, Lust asteroid & Pholus conjunct transiting Eros My South Node conjunct transiting MC My DC conjunct transiting North Node (wonder if this means anything!) My Nessus conjunct transiting Saturn My Saturn conjunct transiting Jupiter My Vertex & Pallas conjunct transiting Pan My Ceres & Pluto conjunct transiting Sappho & Mercury My Pluto conjunct Juno My North Node conjunct transiting Sun My Uranus conjunct transiting Venus & Pholus in my 12th house My Eros & Juno conjunct Lust in my 12th house. Here's what his chart did that evening: His AC & Sappho conjunct transiting Aphrodite, Vertex & Chiron His Adonis conjunct transiting Nessus His Eros & Psyche conjunct transiting Anteros His Venus conjunct transiting Neptune & Pallas His Pallas conjunct transiting Pallas & DC his Ceres & Mars & Vesta conjunct transiting Eros His Mercury & Pan conjunct transiting Ceres His Anteros conjunct transiting Moon & Black Moon Lilith His Chiron conjunct transiting MC His DC, Aphrodite, Part of Fortune conjunct transiting Saturn His Black Moon Lilith & Vertex conjunct transiting AC & Jupiter His Saturn conjunct transiting Vesta His Pluto conjunct transiting Psyche & Juno His Cupido conjunct transiting Sun & Cupido His Uranus conjunct transiting Lust & Pholus His Neptune conjunct transiting PlutoWhew! Quite a long list.... sure hope I did this right. ;D This is VERY interesting stuff!!! [shadow=purple,left,300]Sunshine[/shadow]

Hi Sunshine9 Welcome to the Forum! That is quite a list! There is so much going on. I think first meeting charts are always interesting to consider though other "horary" type charts can take on greater significant--as you mentioned--like the chart of the marriage or the birth of a child or creative project-moving in together, things like that. Still there is much to be gleaned from considering the transits on the day you meet someone. I think it has something to do with "what you are open to" or what you are looking for. Just a technical point for everyone to note: when we look at a natal chart ( or composite or progression ) and want to consider the transits at any given time--we list the Transit as conjunct the Natal Planet. Remember, the natal chart is a frozen moment in time. The transits are the same planets that have "kept moving" so it is Transiting Mercury that will move to conjunct the Sun or Transit Eros that moves along to conjunct the MC. My Sun doesn't "conjunct" transiting Pluto because my sun isn’t going anywhere. It is fixed. But Pluto can move along and make a transit aspect to my Sun. Does that make sense? Same with progression. They are the ones that are moving so My Progressed Eros can conjunct my natal sun-not the other way around. If it is a synastry consideration, we might say his Sun is conjunct my Saturn or my progressed Moon is conjunct his Sun. Always state the faster moving planet first. In the case of transit to a natal, the transits are always faster because they are actually moving. In a natal to natal aspect, we state the faster of the "fixed" positions- Mercury squares Saturn, Saturn sextiles Pluto. With transits to progressions, usually the transit is stared first: Transiting Jupiter conjunct progressed Sun because T. Jupiter is moving faster than P. sun (which is going about a degree a year where Jupiter is moving 30 degrees a year). I hope I haven't gone on excessively about this. I just want us all to be consistent and accurate in the terminology. Great thread! Kim

Dear Kim,
We've talked about how important transits to midpoints are, but can the midpoints be activated when the transiting planet is as much as 2-3 degrees away from the midpoint?
C and I are supposed to "do" lunch finally next week and I have a "feeling" it will really happen this time. In addition to an inner peace, look at these transits to the day we are meeting. all within one degree:
T Sun on progress comp vertex T Moon on P comp Mercury T Mercury on pc DC T Venus on pc Vertex T Eros on pc Black moon Lilith T Pallas on pc Sappho T Juno on pc Ceres/Chiron T Neptune on pc Pallas
I noticed that transiting Ceres is 2 degrees away from his Venus/Uranus midpoint which is why I asked the question. The Venus/Uranus thing shows up in the synastry, the composite, the progressed composite, etc., why isn't this a surprise.
I am in a much better place these days to just embrace the gifts of this friendship and not worry about the imillion ways thi man awakens me. I have written over 300 pages inspired by him in the past six months--(I've shared some of it on the forum) and if this is his main effect on me, what a glorious record I have to publish someday!
Eros at work.

I'm glad about the lunch date! I have a feeling it will actually happen too. With Me Rx, perhaps it is time to talk about the past and reflect on what "was" so you can work our "what is". Re the orb to midpoint: I guess we are going to find out. Orbs are like wood burning stoves in the middle of a room. You walk into the room and you feel the warmth. The closer you get, the hotter it is. I'd say that you'll know more about orbs after lunch! (if it acts like it is in orb, it IS in orb!) You know I'll be waiting to hear how this all goes! Warmly, Kim
