This is very interesting about Ajax. Mine is square my Mercury and conjunct my Arabic Par of "Commerce".
I don't write or work until I've done the chores. It nags at the "back of my mind" and I can't focus until things are "in order".
Very interesting.
What more do we know about Ajax besides being a cleaning product (now) and a hero in the Trojan war (then)?
Actually, I think there were two heroes named Ajax--the greater, strongest and bravest next to Achillis and the lesser Ajax, the one Poseidon drowned for being so boastful.
Both were very strong and energetic...but not so civilized or respectful...Neither were terribly ordered...you just pointed them towards the foe and off they went...
Comments?

i didn't know that about ajax! how interesting.
you know what i didn't realize when i wrote my last post in this thread? i said ajax is conjunct my venus, & i also mentioned ajax is conjunct gordon's pluto (which is his chart ruler). i forgot that venus is MY chart ruler! that actually means his ajax is right on my ascendant, since his pluto is conjunct my ascendant.
i got this from the encylopedia:
Aias (Greek: 'Of the Earth'), or Ajax, son of Telamon, king of Salamis, was a legendary hero of ancient Greece. To distinguish him from Aias, son of Oileus, he was called Aias the Great or Telamonian Aias. In Homer's Iliad he is described as of great stature and colossal frame, second only to Achilles in strength and bravery, and the 'bulwark of the Achaeans'. He is not wounded in any of the battles described in the Iliad, and he is the only principal character on either side who does not receive personal assistance from any of the gods who take part in the battles. He is the cousin of Achilles, the most remembered Greek warrior. And he too was trained by the centaur Chiron (who had also trained his father, Achilles' father Peleus and Hercules), at the same time as Achilles was. Outshined only by his cousin, Ajax was the most valuable king in the battlefield, though not as smart as Nestor, Idemeneus, or, of course, Odysseus. He commanded his army wielding a great axe and a huge shield, always accompanied by the prince Teucer. He was indeed a great asset to king Agamemnon's army.
During the Trojan War, Ajax fought with Hector twice. The first time was in a duel, where nobody won, and lasted throughout a whole day, until they finished it, and exchanged presents. The second occasion happened when Hector broke into the Achaean camp, and fought Ajax in the ships, when he almost killed Hector, by throwing a rock bigger than the Trojan king at him. Later, Hector would regain his strength and make an assault that almost finished the war. Both of these encounters happened when Achilles wasn't on the battlefield, because he was angered with Agamemnon. He did manage to kill a lot of other Trojan lords, including Phorkys.
When Patroklos died, the Trojans tried to steal his body and feed him to the dogs, accusing him of being a liar. Ajax is the man who fought to protect the body, and take it back safely to the camp, back to Achilles, his best friend and lover. Ajax succeeds in fighting off the Trojans and taking the body back with his chariot; of course, the Trojans had already stolen the armor and left the body naked. Part of this success is because of Ajax's prayer to Zeus to remove the fog from the battle.
Later, when Achilles dies, killed by Paris, Ajax and Ulysses are the heroes that fight against the Trojans to get the body, and bury it next to his lover, Patroklos. Ajax, with his great axe, manages to get the Trojans away, while Ulysses pulls the body towards his chariot and rides away. Later, after the burial, both claim the armor for themselves, as recognition for their efforts. But in the end, after some discussion, Ulysses is given the armor. Ajax is furious about it, and falls to the ground exhausted. When he wakes up, he becomes mad and goes to a group of sheep and slaughters them, imagining they're the Trojan leaders, as well as Ulysses and Agamemnon. When he wakes up, covered in blood, and realises what he did, he decides that he prefers to kill himself, rather than to live in shame. He did it with the same sword Hector had given him when they exchanged presents. (Odyssey, xi. 541).
This is the account of his death given in the Ajax of Sophocles; in Pindar's "Nemea", 7; and in Ovid, (Metamorphoses, xiii. 1). From his blood sprang a red flower, as at the death of Hyacinthus, which bore on its leaves the initial letters of his name Ai, also expressive of lament (Pausanias i. 35. 4). His ashes were deposited in a golden urn on the Rhoetean promontory at the entrance of the Hellespont.
Like Achilles; he is represented as living after his death in the island of Leuke at the mouth of the Danube (Pausanias iii. 19. 11). Aias, who in the post-Homeric legend is described as the grandson of Aeacus and the great-grandson of Zeus, was the tutelary hero of the island of Salamis, where he had a temple and an image, and where a festival called Aianteia was celebrated in his honour (Pausanias i. 35). At this festival a couch was set up, on which the panoply of the hero was placed, a practice which recalls the Roman lectisternium. The identification of Aias with the family of Aeacus was chiefly a matter which concerned the Athenians, after Salamis had come into their possession, on which occasion Solon is said to have inserted a line in the Iliad (book ii. 557 or 558), for the purpose of supporting the Athenian claim to the island. Aias then became an Attic hero; he was worshipped at Athens, where he had a statue in the market-place, and the tribe Aiantis was called after his name.
Many illustrious Athenians -- Cimon, Miltiades, Alcibiades, the historian Thucydides -- traced their descent from Aias.
The laundry detergent brand Ajax's slogan is "Stronger than dirt", presumably in the mythological reference.
how neat! so, maybe ajax isn't really about arranging things or cleaning necessarily. maybe it has something to do with strength. i'm not sure exactly.
sincerely, chrissy

Thanks Chrissy for all the work with Ajax! I do think “stronger that dirt” has more than one meaning…which evokes us in different ways. No doubt, any way you look at it, Ajax is physically powerful and willing to kick ass! Kim

well I can vouch for uranus shaking things up - at the moment on my chiron/mars and great for the love life so hitting your chart there should be great . The name asteroid is interesting - I checked out my partner and his is conjunct my 6th house mercury - within seconds and trine my neptune in the 2nd. We do talk very very lots - doesn't make it sound very exciting though really. But we do have other stuff in our synastry. My name asteroid in his chart is exactly conjunct his natal moon, opposite sun, trine chiron, quintle pluto and sextile juno - sounds better. Can't you ask his birthdate?? best of luck! mar

Hi Suz, Wow…it sounds like things are really stirring up! I get the feeling it doesn’t matter right now what his astrology is, or is not. He get you going! I suspect that his name asteroid on your Moon/Saturn opposition is a powerful symbol of “noticing”. It means he grabs your attention, yes? And Saturn has been close to your Moon for ages, and now the eclipse last week was square this point. A real hot spot. And, if I remember correctly, your natal Eros is on your Mars/Venus midpoint all in Pisces. That Uranus conjunction could coincide with a real rollercoaster ride of change! You definitely want to open the shutters and take a deep breath before the whirlwind arrives. It’s tricky with the work situation-especially such a tactile one. The ethics preclude anything vaguely resembling “interest” other than professional. I imagine he would be aware of that as well. Hmmmmmmmmm Do your “circles” cross over in any way? Do you ever chat about anything other than the work at hand? Sometimes these kinds of attractions are “awakening” –nothing less, nothing more. They blast us out of a slumber and shake us up, shake us down. You may find he is the “amuse boche” (Who speaks French? I have no idea how to spell this…this little “Appetizer”.) that preceded the main meal. The main thing is to feel the feelings—feel alive! And Mar, I wouldn’t discount a name asteroid with Mercury/Neptune as lacking stimulation. There is a lot of fantasy here—a lot of creative wonder. I would think he might awaken and support your creative dreams and help you turn them into a daily reality. Kim

suz I was just thinking - do you like French music? I have been listening alot to Francoise Hardy recently - great 60's French singer. I downloaded the lyrics from the internet to improve my French too. Would be even nicer to listen to if you are thinking about someone French! mar

Hi Kim
You're right about the 'awakening'... he can be my appetizer... any time!... and the rest.
I have spoken to him about things other than work but when I realised that I was attracted to him I felt that I couldn't... how crazy is that? But I ain't finished yet, so will let you know what occurs... if anything...haha
And Uranus is definitely... 'The Awakener'... I'll post in another thread.
And mar...that's very cute... I love French dance music .
Cheers Suz

Hi Kim and All: I already posted this question, but on the wrong thread! So here it is again: Just read the above post. I think name asteroids are cool and uncanny! How would you read partner A's name asteroid (conjunct his own venus) conjunct parnter B's Ascendant? I'm looking at it as kind of a "here I am, notice me" flag. Would you agree with that? Thanks for the reply if you have time! A.R.

Yes, A.R., and I would add something like, "Her I am, and notice me when I am being social and artistic and lively out there in the world. Notice my charm and grace? My allure? And look how I am like you--so present yet also remote-unreachable (that whole, "catch me if you can" feeling that Aquarius evokes). I think Venus on the Ascendant is enough to really grab our attention--someone wholes Venus falls on mine is going to catch my eye immediately. Add to that their name asteroid and you have a "double take". Certainly, it adds to things when transits hit--a kind of commonality. Saturn will oppose in the next year and Chiron will conjunct! I wonder what that may bring? Kim

Hi Everyone!! I have found the name asteroid thread fascinating reading . I have found that I have a BIG weakness for people named Paul. The asteroid Paul (3525) is very closely conjunct my moon (basically exact). I always seem to have a Paul in my life, and whenever one leaves - another one comes along?? Some (most of them) have been partners, but a couple of them have been friends. Am I addicted to Paul? Absolutely!!! Will come back to this thread when I have more time to outline some funny synastry aspects. I urge people to have a look at the name asteroids and their 1st meeting charts? I love reading the insights on this forum. It's fantastic!! 'Talk' to you all soon! Moggym
