dear all,
i was just re-reading bodacious babe's wonderful post on sappho ('Musings/Sappho'), and in it she mentions name asteroids. this is interesting to me, and so i did some checking. she's right; they are a pretty powerful little force!
i checked my chart and my partner's, and this is what i found:
the asteroid 'gordonia' (his name is gordon) conjuncts my DC, adonis, erato, eros, chiron, mercury, pallas.
the asteroid 'kristina' (my given name is christina; i go by chrissy) conjuncts his sun, eros, erato, mercury, NN.
it's really fun. does anyone else have anything interesting going on with name asteroids?
sincerely, chrissy

Dear Chrissy,
Thank you for starting this thread. It's something I've been interested in since October.
My experience with the name asteroids has been pretty amazing, too. I had Kim use some name asteroids in the reading she did for me in November and I was astounded.
My husband's last name asteroid (it is the exact name) is conjunct my sun in synastry, and my first name is conjunct his moon!
In the synastry with "Chico", his first name asteroid is conjunct my Sappho, and my first name asteroid is conjunct his North Node. Right now, and this is pretty unbelievable if you've been following the threads of my "saga," my first AND last name asteroids are actually conjunct each other and conjunct his progressed ascendent!
My first born child's name asteroid is actually in my fifth house!
It really is amazing.

hey you guys,
no problem, bb (i'll call you amoroso from now on since that's your new username, promise). after reading that post on sappho i knew i had to check up on the name asteroids, but i hadn't thought to check last name asteroids. that's a good idea. i found that:
*my last name asteroid, green, sits right on his MC. it's not conjunct any planets or other asteroids of his, though.
*his last name asteroid is conjunct my sappho and lilith asteroid. it's not conjunct any planets or other asteroids of mine either, though. it's in my 12th house. it's in virgo, which i find marginally interesting, because his sun, mercury, saturn and NN are in virgo, so he's very much a virgonian (although he has a strong scorpio influence, too - his AC, venus, mars, and uranus are in scorpio, plus he has a pluto singleton).
anyways, this is all very fascinating. scorpymoon, you have a point, and now i want to check other things, like i don't know, cities i've lived in or other names of people i've been close to. it makes sense. some places and people just feel right, you know?
sincerely, chrissy

Yes, the name asteroids are amazing. It reminds me of Oscar Wilde’s “The Importance of being Ernest.” I remember one line, the enchanted woman saying, “His name holds…vibrations!”<br> And they do. Name asteroids pop up with such synchronicity you just shake your head in awe. If you ever doubt the Magic of this universe…investigate the name asteroids! Kim

I just have to jump in here. Entered the name asteroids in the synastry chart of myself and a "friend?" My name came up conjunct his Ascendant and his name came up conjunct his venus on my ascendant. Just wanted to add another example. I was shocked . Astrology never ceases to amaze me! A.R.

Hi Everybody, I was wondering, do you calculate the name asteroids of the person you are interested in in your own natal chart, or do you calculate them in the chart of the person that has the name? Does this make sense? Because we look at synastry by looking at where the other persons planet is in there own chart as compared to our own, I thought we would do the same with the name asteroid, but I don't know which is correct. This topic is so interesting and I want to get it right! Thanks for any response. Fondly, Bridget Marie

Dear Marie,
You can use the name asteroids in synastry and check what comes up. It still is pretty amazing.
I use a hyphonated last name. One example out of many that I could give you in synastry with a man who is not my husband, is that my maiden name comes up conjunct his natal Uranus (and Kim can tell you that this is truly a Uranian relationship....) AND in the synastry, my madien name in my chart opposes his Uranus!
Names do carry "vibrations."

Hi Amoroso, Thanks for answering so quickly! In synastry with the person I'm interested in, my name asteroid which is conjunct my vertex, is conjuncted by his Aphrodite. His name asteroid in his chart is conjunct my Ceres. If I look at our individual charts, his name asteroid conjuncts my Sun. My name asteroid doesn't aspect any planets in his chart. It does trine his north node by o degrees, and it trines his Adonis and Sappho by 2 degrees. Now I don't know if I'm reaching here,? but it looks like my name asteroid in his chart completes a grand fire trine with the NN, and Adonis or Sappho. Do trines count with name asteroids? I'll check out the last name too. Thanks again so much, Bridget Marie

Hi Again!
One more thing, in his chart my name asteroid trines his Moon. And when I looked again, I saw that maybe the orb is too wide for trining his Adonis because it is 3 degrees? Also, the Sappho trine is by only one degree, not 2. But like I wondered, I'm not sure if trines count. Do you think they do?
Thanks Again!

Dear B.M., Did you see the thread on how trines in synastry act more like conjunctions?
I would say, yes, any aspect to a name asteroid adds some recognition in the relationship, and I have learned fairly recently that an orb of 3 degrees is not necessarily too wide with asteroids.
I think that these energies may not be present at first, but can start to play out with wisdom and time in a relationship. And I also think you can have larger orbs with the major planets and asteroids.
Kim's words are far wiser, but this is a start.

Hi Maree, I do both. For example, the Asteroid Jason was conjunct my Sun at MY birth, so it sits in my Natal Chart with my Sun. I do have some interesting stories about the “Jason’s” in my life. They have ALSWAYS been important! Yet different things happen when I put THEIR natal asteroid Jason into my chart (Synastry). It shows the area of life they have influenced me. See how this works? Have a look at YOUR natal placement of a name, if that name keeps popping up in your life you may find out why. Then have a look at the synastry, where their natal name asteroid touches you and visa versa. It’s really pretty amazing…especially if you don’t overlook your own Natal positions. With your question about the trine to his Moon, do you think you have a LUNAR effect on him? Does being with you get him in touch with what he is feeling, or align with his style of love and nurturing. I tend to count orbs if I see them working, and no, I don’t think 3 degrees is too wide for the trine, or otherwise. Kim

Hi Kim and Amoroso, It is so amazing how these name asteroids are showing up! In addition to the man I mentioned earlier, I've been entering the names of my family and friends, and I have to say that the results are so interesting. Like you mentioned the name Jason Kim, and how it is so important in your chart, I entered the name Arthur, which is the name of my dad, ex-husband, my sons middle name and the dad of my ex-husbande, and found it conjunct my Venus and Mars! I entered the name of my good Libra friend, and it came up in Libra itself, conjunct her Sun in my ninth house! WOW! And there are many more exciting connections with other names. Yes, I do feel that I put the man I mentioned in touch with his feelings. Thanks so much for the orb and aspect clarification, and for such thoughtful responses from you both. Fondly, Bridget Marie

dear all,
i did check something else that kim mentioned, and it REALLY is amazing...
his natal name asteroid (gordonia) is RIGHT on my ascendant! his natal last name asteroid is in my 10th house conjunct my natal last name asteroid. i think i am going to start calling him gordonia, and for valentine's day i'll send him a bouquet of GARDENIAS. ha!
my natal first name asteroid (kristina) is in his 10th house conjunct his saturn there. my other first name asteroid (christine) is right on his IC cusp. my natal last name asteroid is in his 9th house conjunct his natal last name asteroid, lilith, the part of fortune, and jupiter.
his gordonia being right on my ascendant just amazes me.
by the way, guys, i checked ajax and it's right on my venus. his ajax is conjunct pluto, which is his chart ruler, so that makes sense. of the two of us, he's got more of the cleaning symptoms with his OCD. me, i just arrange things. i love arranging things. i do it compulsively, over and over. each week i change my mind about how i want to organize my CDs or books or any number of other things. i checked and there's no arrange asteroid or organize asteroid, but there should be, and if there was, it'd be right on my ascendant or sun or moon or something!
sincerely, chrissy
