Hi All ;D I was wondering if anybody has an knowledge/views on the Asteroid Pholus? I've not found any information on the web but astro.com always shows it as one of the main asteroids on it's extended chart selection. I've found quite strong links from Pholus placements of others to my personal planets and am very curious. X

dear earthycoco (love that name ) if you do a search here; planetwaves.net/ you can find what Eric Francis has to say about Pholus, as he often includes this asteroid in his articles to do with Chiron and Nessus. peace, pm

primamateria, thank you ;D
That's an exellent source you pointed me to!! In case others are interested I found this paragraph:
[glow=red,2,300] "Pholus has a quality of opening the door to the infinite. Depending on the door, that may or may not be helpful, or seem helpful, but it is what it is and when Pholus has become active, it's necessary to get out of denial and work with the energy consciously.
But in any event, Pholus has the property of release from situations, opening to new possibilities, and emerging into new states of existence. It is the Centaur of fast-moving changes, or rapid transformations, typically initiated by one's own action. Something as simple as curiosity or a chance encounter may start the chain of events. As Robert von Heeren has so aptly put it, "small cause, big effect."
The energy of Pholus is, "I would never have done that if I knew what I was getting into," sometimes with the added idea, "but I'm glad I did."
Pholus, von Heeren adds, is "the catalyst and provider for a landslide-like change (in history for example) and turning points," adding, " Pholus exaggerates energies in their raw state. Pholus is an emphasizer." [/glow]
This certainly fits my experience actually. Do you think it would it be fair to say that; when comparing person A's asteroids to person B's personal planets, that person B would be most impacted?
Best wishes. x

Wow, thanks for the Reinhart link. My Pholus is tightly conjunct Psyche at 2 Aquarius in the 6th. The Aquarian energy gives is even more swift energy. They say Psyche here is telepathic. That may be but my strong Virgo energy tends to think its through logic. The article said Pholus is connected to ansestral issues. The jar wasn't to be opened for 4 generations. I do tend to shake things up in the workplace and be a little ahead of my time according to my employers. I found out that one of my ancestors led to the birth of Joseph Smith, founder of the Mormon church. If we look at the multiple wives issue as the idea that the man owns the woman and he has rights she doesn't have, I see this in my family line and in my work place very clearly, leading to problems, both in my satisfaction with my job and with my health.
Earthcoco, I think you would need to look at the slower moving body as affecting the faster one, along with observing wether it is applying or separating and waxing or waning as to the effect.

Dear Tom, I wonder whether the answer is NOT to do it but rather to be, if that makes sense ... Easier said than done, of course ... if you are examining the process (objectifying it, in a way), then you aren't "in" it ... I have a hard time turning my left brain off, and the more I try, the more analytical (and self-critical) I become ... Giving the internal analyst something to do helps ... activities that engage the thinking faculty work pretty well for me (the New York Times crossword can put me in a trance in a few minutes!) ... It reminds me of being a child and staring really hard at the night sky, trying to see a certain star, only to have it "disappear" from my vision ... someone told me if I really wanted to "see" the star, to look off to the side a little bit and I'd be able to catch it in the corner of my eye ... But don't worry -- I'm sure when your prog Moon hits Pisces it will all just fall into place ... everything I've read about Pholus says he's the quick-change arist ... jamma

I have Pholus @ 6° Taurus in 9 conjunct my BML (intercepted) He sextiles Sun & Mars (in Cancer) He trines Neptune (in Cap) He opposes Pluto (in Scorpio) I was always a bit worried about this BML Pluto opposition, but now Pholus is involved, i'm more worried... Although most of my worries consider real life
