Hello, Well, my eros is in aquarius in the eighth house, and it's square my saturn (which is in scorpio in the fifth house), and it's bi-quintile my moon and ascendant (both in cancer in the first house). I'm pretty sure I have a firm grip on what all of this means from an erotic and sexual standpoint, but what does all of this mean from a creative standpoint? (If I remember correctly, eros is about creativity as well sex ) Correct me if I'm wrong. Thanks!!

Dear Shizane,
Sexual energy IS creative energy. They are one in the same, and in many Eastern religions they are considered SPIRITUAL energies also.
They manifest differently at different times for everyone, but know that healthy sexual energy is also creative and spiritual at the same time. Read Creation myths from around the world to get a feel for this.
What you do with these gifts has to do with your intent. They can all be developed in your journey!
Blessings, Amoroso

Yes, Amoroso is spot on here. Eros is not compartmentalized, nor is any of the energies the planets represent. I'll post an excerpt of the astrological Eros so you can get an idea of this. Also, do read all the Eros pages on my main site if you want to understand the nature of this asteroid (this energy) further! www.falconastrology.comEros as Love“…the spirit of love can break open the psyche; the flames of Eros, for that is the God we are talking about, sets off an explosion of fantasies and feelings which may be more significant to the psyche than the relationship.”--Thomas Moore Eros creates an infatuation, and obsession, a madness of love, that brings with it images of transformation, expansion of consciousness and divine union. However, mention the word Erotic to anyone and the first thing they think of is pornography. Certainly, sex comes to mind. The current understanding of Eros is far from the intentions of the ancient Greeks, the god of love himself or the myriad symbolism of asteroid 433. Eros love, erotic love in the original sense of the word, is something that draws two or more people together to unite in such a way that they experience a significant and lasting transformation. It is love that contains passion, longing, desire and fixation. It evokes diverse feelings that take the individual to potent depths to merge together into something new, something previously unknown. As Idemon is quick to point out, it is doubtful that pornography, or most sex for that matter, qualifies as erotic by this definition. Eros is associated with Scorpio the third fixed sign of the zodiac in that the erotic encounter is intense, transformational and often painful. Where epithemia is the meeting of the bodies and Philia the meeting of the hearts, Eros is the transformation of the souls. This is not necessarily a sexual encounter, although it often works out that way. Eros can “happen” between people who may be least likely to enter the sexual arena with each other, yet when they do, it results in a lasting transformation. It can also happen when a group is watching a particularly powerful movie, play or concert. Eros can ignite in a joint creative experience. When it happens, however it happens, the world as we previously knew it ceases to exist. Something new takes its place. Eros love may bring its quarry an experience of exquisite torture. Romeo and Juliet are the classic examples of this kind of tragic ecstasy. The family feud, the taboo of being together, sets the stage for danger, risk and the possibility of great loss. The more we give up in terms of Eros, the greater potential for transformation. Romeo and Juliet only had one night together yet their relationship changed their lives, and the lives of their families forever. This is the second requisite for Eros. It usually cannot last in the normal sense of the word. The potency of the experience is overwhelming. The intensity is difficult to maintain for extended periods of time. When touched by Eros, the clock is ticking. Here lies another great difficulty with the image of romantic love. We expect to take the intensity and transformational quality of Eros home with us forever. Maybe we can, for a time, but just watch what happens when we try to marry Eros. If the taboo disappears taking away the danger, risk and the pain of separation, if Eros is looked in the face and his mysteries sought, he may vanish, just like he does when Psyche confronts him face to face. This does not mean he is gone forever. It just means that Eros is not kitchen love. It is not snuggling up watching a move while the children play on the floor love. Eros is the power of creation striking with a bolt of thunder, searing the heart in two and merging it together, for an instant, with another. Do not confuse this with what a long-term relationship can offer. That is the domain of Hera, not Eros. Much to the shattering of the myth of the perfect other, Eros love is not to be confused with the absence of pain either. Eros offers an experience of raw and vital intensity, obsessive in character and dubious in outcome. Statistically, Eros is not a good bet for comfort and durability, but after all, we are not buying shoes here. The ecstasy of contact with this god keeps most of us coming back for more, time and time again. I hope this helps to conjure the creative magnitude of an encounter with this god. Warmly, Kim

Kim, I've been wanting to ask you for a long time what Eros conjunct SN mean? It's in my 9th house in Libra and it's the only aspect it makes.

Hi Butterfly,
If that is Eros' only aspect in your natal chart, it puts a lot of focus on the Nodes. Remember, if Eros is conjunct the South Lunar Node, he is opposite the North Lunar Node. These points represent a polarity and we have to keep the word 'balance' in mind. (not 'out with the south and in with the north!)
Here is an extract from my Eros book on The Nodes & Eros. You need to particularly keep in mind the inherent ‘love vs will’ dilemma of the Aries – Libra axis, and the ‘knowledge vs vision’ dilemma of the 3rd and 9th houses as you read.
Let me know how you think this relates to your own experiences.
Kim
Eros in Aspect to the Lunar Nodes
When you stop imagining someone else is going to fulfill you, you may begin to fulfill yourself. -Ean Begg
The North and South Lunar Nodes are imaginary points that mark the crossing of the Moon, up and down as it were, over the ecliptic, which is the imaginary path of the sun around the Earth. The operant word here is imaginary.
It quickly becomes obvious that the nodes are not real in the typical sense of the word. In spite of their hypothetical existence, the Nodes are significant points that offer meaningful and applicable guide posts in any astrological interpretation. Consider Howard Sasportas:
“[The Nodes] link together the solar principle, the lunar principle and the principle of the Earth. The points are derived through the movement of those three bodies, and I actually think the Nodes are an attempt…to balance solar principles and lunar principles within the body on the earth plane. In some ways, the Nodes indicate a struggle between the pull of the past and new qualities or traits or choices that need to be made.”
The Nodes represent a pull in opposite directions and the South Lunar Node, also known as the Dragon’s Tail or Cauda Draconis, pulls us into the direction of the past. This represents instinctive desires that call us back to a place where we feel, if not comfortable, at least familiar. Like the Moon and her association with intuitive impulses, the South Lunar Node can operate without conscious volition. It is an automatic response.
The North Lunar Node, the Dragon’s Head or Caput Draconis, by contrast, pulls us into their future. It represents the areas of life where we can, with conscious effort and choice, break new ground and obtain valuable new experiences. Like the Sun, the North Lunar Node is approached with courage, awareness and a sense of new possibilities.
The two Nodes are always diametrically opposite, represented by opposing signs and houses. Some astrologers suggest that the South Node is where something is relinquished and the North where something can be gained. The Lunar Nodes also pertain to people that we attract. An activated South Node can indicate a person from the past that suddenly reemerges. It often works out that these South Node people require help or assistance to varying degrees. Even those with a personal planet sign corresponding to our South Node sign can seem to need assistance most regularly.
An activated North Node, conversely, can indicate new people that enter the life offering opportunity, alliance and aid. Transits and progressions here can indicate someone new presenting a challenge, opening or fresh direction. Eros/Nodal aspects are most significant when they are the conjunction, opposition or square. These hard angles seem to reveal consistent results were the lesser aspects can have diminished relevance. It is important to remember that any aspect to one Node indicates a link with the other because they are in exact opposition. This means regardless of the degree, both Nodes are irrefutably involved. When Eros is implicated, the Nodal axis heats up.
Eros conjunct the South Node suggests that the experience of the erotic is instinctual and familiar. We may fall into deeply intimate unions, perhaps even at the avoidance of unfamiliar yet necessary new experiences. In some cases, Eros becomes obsessive giving the individual an erotic overtone that dominates the life. Because the South Node indicates the familiar, Eros there can be used as a mask or defense against exploring any new territory, inner or outer, or it can be a safe haven when outer explorations become draining.
A planet conjunct the South Node can indicate a need to rebuild a new and creative quality relating to what that planet represents. When Eros is there, a new or different approach to Eros needs development so that its innate positive qualities are enhanced but not over done. If the South Node represents things already well experienced, it may be important to use the positive aspects of the sign, house and planets associated with the North Node to further new and unfamiliar experiences.
When Eros is conjunct the North Node, a different set of circumstances arise. The North Node represents what requires growth through conscious choice and action. With Eros here, we may need to explore the myriad levels of erotic intimacy through relationship with others and relationship with our own creative self. It is possible that, in the past, these qualities were subdued or overlooked and now it is time to value them. This usually implies making great effort as these Eros experiences, at first, may not seem natural or easy. A sense of expansion can be achieved, however, when that effort is made.
The square aspect of Eros to the Nodal axis indicates a need to balance the erotic patterns of the past with the desire for exploration of intimacy and union. By reworking the positive qualities of the south Node and striving to enhance and nurture the qualities indicated by the north Node, the seemingly conflicting principles can be balanced, or at least better understood. Sometimes this works out symbolically by juggling past and future lovers simultaneously.
The trines and sextiles to the Nodal axis, given fairly small orbs, can indicate an aid or assistance towards developing the balance between the two opposing principles. When Eros is trine one Node it will automatically sextile the other and through the development of erotic union and intimacy the axis can be better integrated.

Kim,
Finding your site is an absolute blessing. Many thanks for all.
I have been having a cathartic 3 weeks. Having met a being that has struck me with some type of smouldering thunderbolt....my every waking moment has been consumed with thoughts of what could and will be. He lives hours away and we have only met once....and have communicated through the air, email and phone.
Reading your description of Eros above, is like reading into what my life has been like since that fateful day. I could not explain what was happening, I am so thankful that you have spelled it out for me.
It is a powerful, magical, erotic, passionate, do or die, otherworldly, non sensical obsession type of love. Having only been in his presence one time is just crazy.... ---- I have eros in scorpio, in the first house. He has eros in scorpio on the cusp of his 12th/1st house. (we are both scorp rising) ---- my moon is opposite his eros, and i have many sextiles to his eros.
Just thought i would share....thank you again for bringing all of this to my attention.
