Helo everybody, I'm really glad to post in this forum. I read it everyday since 3 months. I learned a lot ! Thanks to Kim, Amoroso, Swenska...and all these I don't remember the name I'm french, so excuses for my bad english. My experience with asteroids, name asteroids is that YES it works with my chart. Really amazing ! For the moment I have a big question : does eros conj MC in synastry mean something ? And...did somebody look for asteroid Echo 60 (rejected love in my meaning and experience). Echo's love whas rejected by Narcissus in the myth. I have also an amazing experience with adonis, but as in the myth (he was struggling between 2 women or godesses...). Ho and also, what means retrograd asteroids ? Some kind of powerless ? All these questions are for studiing in deep what will happen for me in next months... I also really would buy an astro-tutor but it's impossible for me for the moment, my card is not agreed by paypal...so perhaps is there another kind of payment possible ? Thank you Kim for all the nowledge you share. I really like this forum Regards and much more Fabee

Dear Fabee,
It's nice to have you with us, and I think your English is excellent. I was very interested to read about "Echo" and took the time to look her up in my chart and the charts of my family. I think she must represent a place where we feel like we regularly experience rejection. Another way of saying it is it is the place where we project rejection. I need to look up the myth to find out what she represents in mythology and how she handles her rejection. Ideas?
Anyway, I was amazed at how accurate I was in determining which house Echo would appear in each of my family members' charts. Thank you for suggesting we look at that.
As for Eros and the MC in synastry, I am sure Kim will have comments on that combination, but my husband's Eros is trine my MC, and my Eros is semi-square my husband's MC. I think this combination brings "all things" Eros front and center in the relationship. You really can't ignore it. If there is not a sexual outlet over time, there better be a grand creative one, because the energy will turn into frustration and anger.
One thing I do not remember talking about is whether or not the angles count in experiencing synastry energies two-way. Comments, anyone? I read somewhere recently that the angle person picks up the energy but does not send it back out, so the energies don't reverse like they can in other planet/asteroid contacts.
Anyway, welcome!
Blesssings, Amoroso

Hi i'm back again, Thank you Amoroso for respond. I'm the person with eros and NN close in contact with the other's mc ( less than 1 degre) and i will tell later what hapend cause i have to experience it before . So you also saw how echo works. It's about our fears of reject for sure, i think so too and something hardly unconscius. Well, my experience is about adonis and echo together for the moment, and i realized that adonis is about struggling beetween 2 persons, and as echo came in the play, it was about taking the descision to stay with one and live the other. Very strange situation because in the man's chart both women names asteroids were very close (same declination)...very amazing...but i think it's not really over, the situation is not clean for the moment and is during since 1 year ! Eros and psyche are playing very closely too. Sorry i found nothing in english nor french accurate enough for echo's myth . Last question : retrograde asteroids ? are they powerless or something ? do they act like mercury retro for exemple (in theyre own meaning of course) ? Thanks and blessings Fabee

Hi Fabee,
Welcome to the board. Your English is fine!
I am by no means an expert but I do have that aspect. My EROS is tightly conjunct (less than one degree) of Doc's MC. Fortunately or unfortunately (laugh) my Mars is conjunct there also. And they're all in Aries. Gulp. It makes me want to stick my head in the freezer. LOL.
I would agree with Amoroso. She is smart and has alot of experience with this stuff. I think that type of contact can be tense and somewhat smoldering. At this juncture, he and I have no way of acting upon it so yes, finding outlets for that kind of energy can be important. It is not clear to me if he is receiving that wild energy. I am the Mars and the Eros in this aspect. But your synastry is probably tough to miss.

Hello! I'm new to the site and just getting familiar with Eros. I have Eros in Taurus in 10th conjunct MC (4 deg.) , square Venus (5 deg.), opposite Saturn/Pluto conj. (3/4 deg.), and trine Neptune (3 deg.). For the purposes of this thread, how do you think that would effect my career? What I've read on Kim's site about it has been very interesting and rang true! Just wanted to see if anyone else had any insight.

Hi Everyone,
I'm doing my best to catch up on posts and will get back to this over the weekend. We can look at both Eros/MC in synastry and Eros/MC in the natal or progressed chart.
Warmly, Kim
PS I have natal Eros exact opposite my MC! (conjunct IC) and find (obviously) Eros has had much to do with certain aspects of my career!

Hello Ana,
Finally I have a moment to post on your question. I hope this elucidates. Consider first the relationship of Eros to the Angles in general, then the MC contact will have deeper meaning.
Eros in Synastry Aspect with the Angles
Eros here, if the birth times are accurate, presents its significance in awareness and sensation on a very personal level. Eros seldom hides in this position and both people involved are likely to be pleasurable or painfully aware of each other in an erotic sense. Pleasurable while they pursue an intimate or creative relationship, painful if the taboos or circumstances make it difficult to acknowledge each other in that way.
Proximity or contact with each other can touch off a sense of self-awareness as well as sensitivity to the other creating a powerful impact on the couple. Any synastry aspect to the Ascendant effects attraction, especially the conjunction, and when this planet is Eros, it can feel like magic. When it happens between parent and child, grandparent and grandchild, husband and sister-in-law or teacher and student, it feels sometimes ambivalent and sometimes like a wicked curse. In this case, creative ingenuity is required.
The two may find artistic ways of expressing their passion for each other through a common theme, or they may not. If the later is the case, and the association ongoing, the situation can become quite uncomfortable.
Parent/offspring relationships with this contact, especially the MC and IC conjunctions, can be fraught with sexual undertones and intense passions. Without objectivity, this synastry aspect can wreck havoc on an unsuspecting family. Weather these powerful feelings can be channeled into creative projects or not, the first step is to acknowledge the conflicting emotions involved without blame or guilt. Sometimes the recognition of such an aspect alone can trigger very useful dialog in a counseling or therapeutic situation.
The contact with the Ascendant/descendant axis seems to favor the creative outlet approach to relating, especially when sexual intimacy is extremely taboo or impossible. They may unite their ideas and collaborate in an artistic, therapeutic or literary sense making potent contributions in their field of creativity. They may also, if greater physical intimacy is explored, find the depths of sexual union the medium of their exploration. These contacts hold true for Eros conjunct or opposite the Ascendant, Descendant, MC and IC rulers as well.
Eros in the Synastry Tenth House
Love and a cough cannot be hid.-George Herbert
When the Eros of one person abides in the tenth house of another, often secrets are hard to keep. A certain public awareness of the couple’s intimate activities and attractions are visible or at least speculated, drawing a relative degree of public attention. Sometimes the Eros person stimulates the other by giving them a sense of drive and ambition to achieve in a worldly sense and sometimes they simply make them feel trapped and limited. Either way, the public, their inner circle of friends if not people at large, will know about it.
Eros itself cares little for public recognition and acknowledgement although the erotic relationship that stimulates the tenth house can bring issues of authority, accomplishment and aspiration to the foreground. These couples may work together on joint business projects only to discover that being together evokes more that a professional response. The inclusion of duty and passion may be an extremely challenging dichotomy to unite yet with Eros here, it may be well worth the effort.
Depending on the relationship with their personal sense of authority and outward expression in a career, mission or profession, having the tenth house highlighted can encourage or provoke individuals onto greater efforts at success. Just being together can give one the confidence and the sense of creative power to strive towards their dreams. If the career goals do not collide with the personal life, Eros here can indicated productive and beneficial stimulation.
If the personal life is undervalued and the work ethic over developed, Eros in the tenth could highlight the imbalance. Couples with this synastry placement could find they have to unravel tangles or schedules, obligations and commitments just to find intimate time together. They may also need to face the potential for power struggles inherent in equalizing the delicate balance between outer and inner life.
Let us know if this makes sense.
Warmly, Kim

Thanks for some insight. I'm not in a relationship so I tried to apply it to myself. I can definitely attest to the fact of applying greater efforts to success. I am very passionate about my career as an artist. (Eros in Taurus in 10th conjunct Aries MC?) I'm also aware of directing ALL of my attention toward my career and the imbalance it causes between that and the people I love. Its always been a struggle for me to maintain that balance, but at least I've always acknowledged it. That leads me to take extra care to keep that balance.

Thanks for your comments jjasonham,
What degree of Taurus is your Eros? I am wondering when you received (or will receive) the opposition from Jupiter. You might like to read the post on Jupiter transiting Eros.

Eros 1 degree Taurus. I received that opposition beginning of November a year ago. I never really paid attention to Eros back then. I do recall, though, how frustrated I was with what was going on with my career. I had just moved back to North Carolina from Los Angeles to take a year off from school. I'm a singer/actor. Up to that point, things were on high speed. The reason I was frustrated was because I was just starting in a "normal" office working in Life Insurance. I knew it would only be for a year, but around that transit time is when I really felt stifled! (It also didn't help that natally I have Jupiter conj. Uranus in Sag opposite Sun conj. Mars in Gemini!!) If you want you can glance at my chart.

I so understand that dynamic Jason! My son is an '83 model and has Ju/Ur conjunct in Sag opposite Moon/Chiron in Gemini. Patience is not one of his major assets. Are you through with the 'normal' job now? Last year at this time you had Saturn Crossing your Ascendant and that can feel like a frustrating time when you want to move forward but you have 'other work to do'....Necessity comes in and rules the life for a time. You will have your Jupiter conj. Uranus and return soon, which is the start of a whole new 12 year cycle! Pluto is going to be trine the MC for the next two years and Jupiter will conjunct Pl and trine MC as well in late '07. Saturn trines from Leo about that time as well. Things will likely feel like they are moving forward in a creative, changing and tangible way soon. With Uranus square Sun/Mars now, I can't imagine you staying 'put'!!! Kim

I haven't been here since my last post. Just to inform you Kim, that Uranus sq. Sun/Mars really is shaking things up. I was supposed to be going back to Los Angeles for school, but now I'm in NYC for the same thing! It was a bit impulsive, but I only did it because things were falling into place for me here instead of LA. Downside is (or upside if you think about it) that I missed my placement and have to wait until this September for school! Saturn is leaving my ascendant and my Jupiter return, I feel like I'm tying up loose ends and starting a brand new life doing exactly what I want to do! The Saturn opp Neptune squaring my natal Mercury is killing me because I'm usually pretty clear on what step to take next. Chiron is also opposing my ascendant as well...yikes! I have been absolutely FORCED by the stars to slow it down. It would usually take something of that gravity to slow me down, and I guess it has, but I'm loving it. Since I've been here many, many new opportunities have opened up in my career....I should be recording very soon! Thanks for your very informative website! As a side note, I did a check of some of my past lovers to see if any of them had any major Eros aspects with me. One had Sun and Venus(exactly) conjunct my Eros which is also opp Pluto and square my Venus. All I can say is EROS IS EXTREMELY POWERFUL!!!

Hi Jason, Thanks for the update. Wow, things are taking new twists for you! It sounds like NY is where you can really flourish right now and the delay in school is giving you a chance to do some other things. Hang in there with that Neptune-Sat-Me configuration. Sometimes confusion, for a while, is a wonderful ally. We get so muddled that we actually allow for completely different ways of thinking--completely new possibilities (because we can't recall what the old one were anymore!!!) And yes, Eros is an extremely powerful indicator. Thanks again for the feedback. Kim
