Hi Kim, hi everyone... I was eyeing my chart the other day and comparing it with... oh let's just call him "r"... ... and I saw that our Aphrodites are almost exactly conjunct each other (12deg Virgo). they're also closely parallel (20degNorth). not only that, they are plump in the middle of my uranus-pluto conjunction in Virgo, opposite HIS psyche at 15 degree Pisces, opposite my chiron and 11deg pisces and my eros at 10deg pisces. his eros is a little wide, at 7deg pisces. this double aphrodite duo is also parallel my mars/sun/mercury/psyche stellium at 20degN, his jupiter/mercury at 20degN, AND his ASC/MC at 20degN. am I going bonkers and seeing water where there're only mirages? or am I on to something here? Kim, what exactly does Aphrodite signify? and is there any significance to the conjunction/parallel and the connections? thanks and take care... dar.

Hello Dar! Here's a link to Kim's previously answered question about the topic of Aphrodite-- erosastrology.proboards26.com/index.cgi?board=asteroid&action=display&thread=1096277738I feel that she gives alot of information on that thread due to the fact that although Aphrodite has a certain vibration as Venus does, it embodies a concentrated area of attraction... She calls it inpulsive attraction... I happen to have my Aphrodite in exact conjunction with my Venus.. and conjunctions being what they are, I have a hard time telling the difference between my Venus vibe and that of Aphrodite... to make matters worse I know someone who's Aphrodite is in exact opposition to mine as well as OUT OF BOUNDS in declination at the same degree, counter parallel ..but this one little aspect (is anything a LITTLE anything?) just relates to a series of synastry aspects and Composite oppositions which remind me that the attraction is not just in my mind. Dar I also notice that this Aphrodite conjunction at 12 degrees Virgo.. perhaps makes me very empathetic, due to the fact my Moon is at 12 degrees Virgo as well. I know one chart where I have seen a conjunction of Aphrodite and Pluto (extremely close) in the 2 house in Virgo..Courtney Love-- I get the impression that the beauty and attraction of Aphrodite is turned into or speaks with the same voice as the need for Pluto "power" in the second house in Virgo seems to need to comodify that "power".. As far as the Virgo conjunction of Aphrodite in synastry between two people goes (espeically if you toss Pluto in the mix) its important to understand which house these aspects are taking place from. I get the impression with Pluto in there, things are always going to seem a little more powerful, as Pluto activates things as Kim says, "like a mircowave" heating things up from the inside (just keep in mind that Pluto is a higher octive of Mars a great activator) I hope this helps. Take care svenskasfinx

Thanks for finding that link, Svenskasfinx! I was scratching my head thinking..."didn't I write something about this somewhere in the forum?" You can all re-read that thread (it's only 2 posts). I would like to repeat here though that "Asteroid 1388 Aphrodite ... is like a pure drop of “aphrodisiac” from the hem of Venus’s robe." I think you get a very concentrated potency of the one thing Aphrodite cares about--pleasure. Two things actually—pleasure and revenge. Oh, well maybe three things—Pleasure, revenge and the impulse of attraction. (yet somehow all these things are pleasurable to her) I think Aphrodite is impulsive and charismatic and moved by desire. She’s drawn one minute, disinterested the next! It takes a lot to keep her attention on target. I guess we could say she is fickle. And, alluring, sensual ...She's like fine chocolate to the chocolate lover. The comments Sven made re Pluto are potent. Think also of the Uranus contact which is very willful, very abrupt, and also usually a surprise! I suspect the contact would make two people notice each other like we notice something alluring in a shop window. If it happens at the {"right time } I imagine there would be a strong enough pull to lead us into the shop. : ) Kim

thanks so much Svenskasfinx and Kim! I'm sorry I've been remiss in replying. RL took over there for a bit! Svenskasfinx: it's so interesting but I've got a huge cluster right there where your moon is, and my aphrodite! let's see -- pluto (13deg), Uranus (9deg), Amor (12deg), Sappho (14deg), Aphrodite (12deg) in Virgo. and right opposite is Eros (10deg), and Chiron (12deg) in Pisces. I have a lot of contact going with your moon. Kim, Aphrodite is doubly interesting when I think of the role she played in the story of Eros and Psyche. My Eros is in this mix (10deg Pisces), and so is my 'friend's' Eros (8deg Pisces) AND his Psyche (15deg Pisces). and both our Aphrodites are conjunct at 12deg Virgo! Aphrodite was the classic "disruptor" as well as the engine in the myth, wasn't she? it feels almost a replay of the myth to me -- our personal situation. she brought us together, and yet, her presence is in 'opposition' to the Psyche and the Eros within us. yes, you can tell me I'm 'reaching'. and it's so interesting (and somewhat scary) when you say words like revenge, impulse, attraction and 'yum'. revenge is so very mythic a word in its history and dynamic, don't you think? but this relationship (the one with the 12deg Aphrodites conjunct in Virgo) is proving to be even harder than I thought it would be. at times, it sure feels mythic, with all the heartache and complexity that word evokes. I need to ask you to do a reading for me sometime when I'm a bit more financially stable. thanks muchas, both of you!

well Dar, I don't think you are "reaching".. I think you are getting a good idea of the mythic at work. I do feel a certain vibe to it all.. it sort of spins around my head really.. it must be a wonderful yet scary feeling, because Virgo is such a "I want solid proof of..." type of sign.. and Aphrodite is such a forcefull power of attraction it seems. (my own Aphrodite is so confusing to me.. because its so mixed in with Venus I can feel Venus I guess with the same powerful force as Aphrodite, and its sometimes irresistable.. when others activate that by synastry but because its in a water sign it doesn't have the type of demand an "earth sign" might have.) I get the feeling that both of you with Aphrodite in Virgo find that love can often mean the showing of material things.. less so with things of value like jewlary for Virgo as much as something valuable yet practical..perhaps a home furnishings or a car? I think you have to relay upon the other things in a chart, but my generalization is that because Aphrodite is a concentrated version of Venus, some of the same cues come in when "she seduces"...they know the weak point that makes you cave in and makes the attraction less of a resistance. I get the feeling when the Mars/Uranus conjunction came about, there was alot going on... considering the planets in Virgo and Pisces but once again, I don't feel you are "reaching" you will read and learn and ask the correct questions.. then you can figure some of these clues out for yourself because we all are learning Take care, svenskasfinx

What about my Aphrodite conjunct another's Moon(I hope I have not asked this before). Both Aphrodite(26 deg.) and the Moon(23 deg.) are in Gemini in my 3rd house and his 7th house. I feel he is crazy about me and communicates this in a very nurturing and loving way. I am very attracted to him but can be cold not mean at times and then at other times sensual and alluring just with my presence...I never cross the lines...but it is like I can't makeup my mind. I feel a very strong love from this guy but in my case I don't always feel love...I do feel like taking revenge even when nothing has happened. My revenge is being cold to him which he can not stand. He does everything in his power to make contact with me when I get like this...trying to nurture and care for me where I am...what do you think Kim about this particualr aspect?

Dear Neptune Woman,
I really can not comment on the Aphrodite-Moon connection as I don't have a good feel for Aphrodite's energy at all. However, I think it is easy for those of us who love this forum to sometimes forget to look at larger planetary aspects, because what you describe sounds like the strong "freedom/closeness" dilemma of Moon/Uranus or anything with Aquarius and the Moon. Does this show up anywhere in your synastry, and is it echoed in either natal chart?
Just a thought, Blessings, Amoroso
