Happy new year everyone! I'm looking for some feedback regarding personal experience of Pluto/Venus transits. Pluto will be exactly opposing my natal Venus for the first time next week, and it seems that most of the information I can find on the subject is very doom & gloomy and focused primarily on sex & relationships... usually involving a conflict of some kind. This transit has definitely unveiled a very powerful romantic relationship, which actually came into being early September during all that Virgo eclipse energy which involved my ASC. That relationship evolved from that point forward into something that is completely open-hearted, mutual, and really the most beautiful connection either of us has ever experienced. There's powerful Eros energy as well... his natal Eros opposes my natal Venus, which means that while Pluto opposes my Venus, it's on his Eros. And also natally, his Cancer Sun & Mercury are exactly conjunct my Eros (edit: actually, Mercury is not exact). So there's a heckuvalotta intimacy going on... but it's happy, filled with warmth, lots of playfulness, and very very tranquil. This is *not* a stormy type of Plutonian connection -- it's very, very nurturing. So all the doom & gloom interpretations having to do with Pluto opposing Venus just doesn't fit. I'm wondering how others may have experienced this transit on a higher octave. And also, what about the financial ramifications... does anyone have anything to report? Usually I read about dramatic losses... but what about dramatic gains? Looking forward to hearing your sharings... Samina

Hi Samina. Happy New Year! Sounds very exciting for you! I like Bil Tierney's books on the outer planets because they're nicely balanced with some of the rewards possible in these transits, just just all gloom and doom. Here's some things I found in his Alive and Well with Pluto: Sexual desires intensify - and since you have a willing partner, this is good news! You have an outlet and a way to enjoy that robust physical energy! Pluto sees nothing wrong with a heavy emphasis on the erotic. So long as both people are empowered and nobody is being devalued or manipulated, it can be very gratifying. Money can be an issue in this transit, but you'll only need to let go of "compulsive attachments based on unresolved greed or an unexamined hunger for security". It can also mean financial revival, investing for retirement or investing in a way that will empower you. In other words, meaningfully, responsibly. Venus is about what you value, so there may be some transformation there. Sounds wonderful! (from someone who has Venus conjoined Pluto natally 3rdhousenorth

Hi! Great to see you guys back! Good to read you're so happy, Samina.
I bet that when you hadn't done the 'work' you could have experienced that Venus Pluto opposition quite differently!
Money matters or love and sex, I believe that they are quite similar, and one can apply the same principles to them: .
;D ;D

This was an interesting transit for me. I met my husband in May 2000, during the Grand Allingment of planets in Taurus. I always thought our faithful meeting was due to this cosmic event (plus some telling progressed planet movements). Taurus represents my 11th house of hopes, dreams and wishes, and he was exactly the type of person I was hoping to meet. So I never really looked at any other transit at that time except for this Taurus stellium. But the other day, I had a look at our meeting chart again, and noticed that at the same time, Pluto was exactly opposing my Venus. So, maybe the Pluto/Venus transit "brought" him to me, plus all other things. The relationship was not obsessive, but was intense, and we moved in together after six months, and married after year together (still happily married). So, for me, this transit brought up the best relationship I've ever had (we do have an exact Jupiter-Venus conjunction in fifth house which is just the most wonderful tie to have). It may mean that if you are in long-term relationship, this transit brings turmoil, profound change even the break up. But if you are not in a relationship, then this transit brings it for you. I hope that this transit brings you something good like it did to me (I guess you already know what other transits, progressions etc. are happenning at the moment to help it out).

hi samina, i know you're asking for personal info of this transit...i don't have it.
but i wanted to offer that venus is at root our values. so yes our relationships reflect our values. but if we take pluto as revolution, there's going to be a revolution to your value system and some manifestation of it. the opposition means that the perspective that the pluto transit energy has is in some way at odds with your venusian perspective. so, it can suck if you're refusing to change, or learn new things, which most people are, hence the bad reputation. so maybe it's a person/relationship, maybe it's how you treat yourself (how good you are to yourself, seeing what you deserve) - though houses and signs involved are important. steven forrest says that the transiting planets ask questions that ultimately edify - my wording at the end. so, what does pluto transiting sagittarius in house x have to teach venus in gemini in house y?

Here's some things I found in his Alive and Well with Pluto: thanks for your feedback, 3HN! yes, most definitely. this is an absolutely delightful manifestation of this transit! there is a mutually profound experience of adventure and unprecedented intimate connection at work here... this is where i feel on the edge of something right now... not sure what. scary edge... but perhaps there's something just as profoundly transforming just around the corner. Pluto will be exactly opposing for me next Monday the 15th... something is brewing. does not feel pleasant at all right now, but have been feeling an inner shift today. you know how dynamic this stuff can be... thanks again for sharing the commentary from your library! i really do appreciate it. samina

Hi! Great to see you guys back! Good to read you're so happy, Samina. thanks, juliet! i do lurk quite frequently, but things slowed down here so much prior to the holidays. hopefully now things will pick up again! yes, i think that must have a great deal to do with how one experiences these transits

While mine is not there YET it is O degrees Cancer and Kim's is about there too so now we can both see how you go first Samina lol... glad to be of use! the Pluto opp Venus guinea pig. lol my sun is at 0 Cancer, my NN at 02 Cancer, then my MC, then Eros a bit after that... methinks i'm entering a very interesting stretch in my life. and while you guys have pluto opposing your venus, i'll have it hitting my sun -- we should have some interesting sharings to compare at that time!!! clearly, these guys come find us when the stars align properly. <heh!> the compatibility i have with my love is just uncanny... could never have ordered something up better myself!!! amazing. and out of the blue... also, an interesting aside... the relationship was coming into being as uranus slipped back into my 5th house for it's final hurrah. i kept thinking it would leave behind an unusual & very creative relationship with someone much younger... and so it did. he is fully 13 years younger, and a dancer, and we have so much fun together! it is as exciting as it is tranquil...

It is in houses 2/8 for me and Pluto seems to be squeezing my finances like water from a beach towel Demands on all sides ana, i just realized that pluto rules my natal 2nd, while venus rules both my natal 8th and my 1st. (it's my chart ruler & conjunct my sun, so definitely hi-focus in this transit). you took the words out of my mouth... squeezing my finances & demands all around. things are at the point where something will definitely "give" so that things can find a new shape... am focusing on keeping my attending and my resource-finding inner power directed toward a positive vision and away from fear... but that is taking work & conscious intention at times...

You are welcome, Samina
I remember being really surprised when I saw that there was Pluto-Venus transit at that time, as generally speaking, I would have expected it to bring something more "sinister". It does look like something similar is happenning to you, too. Good luck, and please, keep us posted!!! I am not very versed in composite charts, but I like fourth house moons (say in synastry). It brings such lovely "at home" feeling, where you can spend hours with that person just lounging around, I bet composite fourth brings similar feel to it. How is your synastry? Any exciting bits there? Beside aspects, I particularly like to observe the houses in synastry, I find them extremely telling. Any nodal contacts?

I have Venus at 0 Cancer Trying to sell a house that definitely comes under the above stuff of getting things for security that was not wise move Gods will not let me sell it yet so have let it for a few months keeping the right to sleep there if I am in town And I keep meeting men who are too too young who are interested but my agegroup does not notice me Feeling a strong affinity with someone 25yrs younger at the moment I do not think it is going to happen as we are both not very pleased as it seems too impractical - there are many other differences too I thought it was Uranus that did that Can Pluto do that? I am prone to younger men anyway but usually within 10 years
