This occurs twice in our lives (if we're lucky) around the ages of 27 and 55... I'm approaching my first prog. Lunar Return and I can't find much information on this event often referred to as a "warm-up" to the much discussed Saturn Return... What exactly does this astrological event signify?!...I've read that it has strangely coincided with the deaths of many famous musicians...Jim Morrison, Jimi Hendrix, Janis Joplin, Kurt Cobain, etc. all died at the age of 27...Obviously, this isn't the norm, but I'm left to wonder what exactly are the psychological manifestations of the progressed Moon conjuncting the natal Moon?!... Is it primarily felt in the realm of emotions or does it also trigger karmic events in our lives?! What was your SP Lunar Return(s) like?! Are there any informative resources on the net or in print that specifically discuss this event (I haven't been able to find any one source that goes into great detail on the subject...I checked out Christine Shaw's book on 'Predictive Astrology' from the library and she discusses every possible SP aspect to natal planets except the SP Lunar Return!)?! Please, feel free to share your experiences at the age of 27 or 55 that you attribute to this progressed aspect...it would be much appreciated!!! Looking forward to any and all responses...thank you so much! [It's also worth noting that the first SP Lunar Return also coincides with trans. Uranus trine natal Uranus]

Hi Lunariviera, Well I'm not sure about this progression/return, but have lived through the year in question.... and can say without doubt that it was a good time in my life....being young and relatively free perhaps that is the Uranus trine Uranus that comes through when I remember that year!? ;D (ten years isn't that long ago!) this is the second time today that someone on this board has mentioned tragic musicians in relation to an astro-theme - what is going on here? The ones mentioned were inarguably intense and extremely talented individuals... but for each of them that didn't make it past their 27th year dozens of others are still strumming well into their 60s. Take heart, Luna, remember that whatever you're expecting - the Universe will concur... so imagine your Saturn Return and SP lunar return as being positive and perfect for you and they will be...I should imagine that the moon will bring for you what the moon always does - but that your age and experience will determine what you make of it. Is it possible to see a chart? A visual of what this event entails might help. joy! pm

Hi!! I became a mom for the first time when progressed moon was on natal, and I loved it! I was soooooo in love with my strong baby boy... Still have all these pictures of him and me (C only four weeks old) mimicking each others mouth movements. It was a time of great happiness and discovery. His Saturn on my progressed NN.

Juliet! I had my boy on my Saturn Return, while my progressed sun clocked over to 0 Cancer (my Venus)….there’s never any doubt who the love of my life is… Two years before that, on my exact progressed Lunar Return in Aquarius, with Uranus transiting my IC, I moved to the other side of the world, to a country I’d never seen with a man I barely knew… So, change is a theme, I think. In my case, radical change! And, don't forget the 3rd progressed return at 82! These cycles of the Moon through the horoscope are very interesting and often highlight a deeply primal, instinctive side of our nature both creative and destructive (which is just another aspect of the creative process!) Here is a good article by Brian Clark on the topic. He incorporates the muses in this insightful piece. www.astrologyalive.com/PROGMOON.htmlHoward Sasportas, a brilliant writer and lecturer, has been published post humorously on the topic of progressions. I'm getting a copy (transcripts from lectures given in '86' I believe) and will pass on his insights when it arrives. (you can get his books from Midheaven Bookshop in London). This is a good paper on the relationship between progressed lunar cycles and the Saturn Cycle, by Robert Wilkenson. blogs.salon.com/0003573/stories/2005/05/12/theProgressedMoonTheSaturnCycleAndCriticalLifeChoicesPt1.html (cut and paste the URL with no space between 12/theProgressedMoon... I've always noted the link between the progressed Moon and transiting Saturn...they both spend about 2.5 years in a sign and seem to activate us on a deep level...what these bodies touch, we cannot ignore...(no 'ignorance'!) And, here is Celeste Teal's take on progressions and prediction in a three part article: www.astrologyzine.com/predict.shtml#ASTROLOGY:More on this soon! Kim

Wow, thank you all so much for replying to my thread and sharing your experiences!!! Much of what has been mentioned seems wholeheartedly postive and cathartic...that gives me hope and something to take comfort in!!! Hi Lunariviera, Take heart, Luna, remember that whatever you're expecting - the Universe will concur... so imagine your Saturn Return and SP lunar return as being positive and perfect for you and they will be...I should imagine that the moon will bring for you what the moon always does - but that your age and experience will determine what you make of it. Is it possible to see a chart? A visual of what this event entails might help. joy! pm primamateria, I had to quote the above because I love the idea of the universe concurring with our expectations...I've also been reflecting on the nature of the Moon and how it's operated in my life...I still haven't arrived at something concrete, but it's certainly a source of solace and I'm very comfortable with lunar energies... Here's my chart for the day of my prog. Lunar Return...it's on October 21, which happens to be a day that has marked quite a few beginnings and endings for me related to work: on Oct. 21, 1996, I quit my first "real" job...on Oct. 21, '98, I started a job that lasted for three years, the day I left was coincidentally Oct. 21, '01...strangely enough, my first day working at my current job was Oct. 21, '03....it's probably not all that relevant, but I found it interesting! Juliet, It seems appropriate that you had your first child during your SP Lunar Return (the Moon tends to preside over issues of fertility?)...that's quite a way to mark a new cycle of emotional maturity!!!...those pictures you mentioned sound absolutely adorable, as I'm sure your baby was! Kim, Those links were wonderful and were a big, big help...thank you for sharing!!! It's uncanny that you made a major move (a significant life transition) on the day of your SP Lunar Return...it doesn't get much more radical or obvious than that (like the shifting of the tides)! Keep the stories/experiences coming!

I've always noted the link between the progressed Moon and transiting Saturn...they both spend about 2.5 years in a sign and seem to activate us on a deep level...what these bodies touch, we cannot ignore...(no 'ignorance'!) Kim Slight sidetrack, but I've pondered Mooon/Saturn connections a bit and think it's interesting that the moon has a 28 day cycle and Saturn 28 years. I was also intrigued to read Bruno Huber's technique reads Saturn in the chart as representing the mother, sun the father and moon the self/child. I believe there's more more to Saturn/Moon connection than traditional astrology would have us know. (Qaballah students would know what I mean) This makes a world of sense (at least to me and my experience of/with my parents)....I would love to know more about the Saturn/Moon connection!...It's interesting that Huber assigns Saturn to the Mother...it seems similar to the debate over the 4th vs. the 10th house (the sign on the cusp) as being indicative of the "maternal" parental influence...

dear Lunariviera, so you're moon is taurus eh? Well, she is exalted there...so of course you are comfortable with lunar energies - lucky you! I'm not so good reading these charts with transits and progressions and lots of asteroids - its the alchemist in me that wants to distill everything down to 'essences' - but that looks like quite an 'energetic' event with leo on the ASC, Leo Sun and your moon's ruler with the sun. and Scorpy - yes - I completely agree with you about Saturn/Mother and the Moon connection - in qabalah Saturn equates to Binah, the Great Mother, and in pre-patriarchal myth Saturn is part of the Time/ Necessity syzygy...(Necessity being the feminine counterpart to Time) and there is a whole lot of etymological heritage which relates to the moon's relationship with Saturn. Fascinating stuff... but I won't write an essay about it here joy! pm
