What are the possible effects and experiences associated with a New Moon, Full Moon, Eclipses, etc. occuring along the natal nodal axis?! Curiosity strikes deep?!

Hi Lunariviera,
This is an interesting topic. We’ve started talking a bit about the nodes in the ‘Return’ thread—mainly, the Nodal return which occurs every 18.618 years.
First up, when the New or Full Moon occurs along the transiting nodal axis within about 12 degrees, it is an eclipse: If the Sun and Moon are conjunct and either North or South lunar node is also in conjunction with both, a solar eclipse occurs. When the Sun and Moon are in opposition, and each is in conjunction with one of the lunar nodes, a lunar eclipse occurs.
Now, if you mean what happens when transiting New or full Moon conjunct the Nodal axis in a Natal chart, you get an activation. The Nodal axis wakes up and so do the houses in question. The Lunation ‘lights up’ the nodal axis as it were, bringing it to life after the manor of the sign, dwad, decan etc it is placed in.
If it’s an eclipse within a few degrees of the natal nodes, you have either a Nodal return or demi-return, along with the lunation, so it’s a MAJOR activation which lasts until the next eclipse (about 6 months).
Can you give an example of what you have going there? Then we can look at it in more detail.
Warmly, Kim

Warmly, Kim Kim, Thank you so much for responding...I was mainly curious about the effects of a lunation on the natal nodes...I ask this because there's a New Moon in Pisces occuring on February 27 at 9 Pis 16 and my natal South Node (true node) is 9 Pis 30...also, Uranus will be at 10 Pis 38 and Eros at 10 Pis 29...this occurs in my natal 8th house and all of this planetary activity along my South Node opposes my natal Saturn at 10 Virgo 50 (as well as my North Node)...and for what it's worth, my natal Venus is at 13 Cancer 42, trining all of this 8th house stuff... I've heard that the South Node indicates our karmic past, so if that's the case, what could a New Moon (classically associated with a new beginning) conjuncting the Dragon's tail mean in this instance?!...I eagerly look forward to any insights you (Kim) or anyone else might have!!! I would love to hear other people's stories about a lunation occurring along their natal nodal axis...so please all, feel free to share any experiences that you might have had that you later attributed to such an event!!!... Thanks again!!! Much gratitude and appreciation, lunariviera (Michael) P.S. Over the past few months, many of the lunations and eclipses have been occuring along exact planetary degrees and/or angles in my natal chart...first there was the October Lunar Eclipse in Aries exactly on my MC (exactly squaring my Natal Sun), then the Full Moon in Cancer this past January occuring right on my Sun (24 Cancer 23 in the 12th house), and now this!!!...and then there's the Virgo Lunar Eclipse coming up on March 14 at 24 Virgo forming an exact sextile to my natal Sun (with the transiting Sun forming a trine)...what puzzles me is that there hasn't been any overt/tangible manifestations of these potent lunations in my life...in fact, I'm sort of in the middle of a colossal rut!!!...go figure?!

I think that 'colossal ruts' tend to precede colossal change. You have to consider the tricky nature of 'time' when it comes to lunations and eclipses. They can manifest when triggered months and months later--sometimes when the next cycle of eclipses re-activates the point! Fortunately, everything doesn't always happen 'at once'.
To unravel your intense transit situation over your nodal axis, consider first the signs involved:
The North Node in Virgo and the S. Node in Pisces suggests the need to balance the fine details and ritual order with the wash of abandon and merging with ‘chaos’. The N.N. says take things down to their component parts, examine, compare and contrast, and the S. N says trust the process, the swirl of emotion and intuition, the gut feelings and universal oneness of life.
With the activation of both of these points, the conflicts between ritual order and the ‘ways and means’ you accomplish your will may contrast the longing to sacrifice yourself to a greater collective…to go ‘behind the veil’.
Think of the transits you describe as bringing into sharp focus this contrast, probably in the form of people or relationships that your nodal axis is projected onto. You may have someone from the past re-appear in your life and need help of some sort…one that requires you to surrender to them in some way, or to their ‘cause’. It is up to you to decide if you ‘owe’ them this or if it is time to call in your boundaries and make the distinction between service and subservience.
The 8th-2nd house axis suggest money, joint finances or resources are involved.
I think the Lunation will act as a ‘trigger’ for this longer term transit of Uranus conjunct the S. Node opposite Saturn. Somehow, your sense of power, authority and self-determination is ‘at stake’ here.
I don’t think of the south node as a ‘Karmic past’ but I do think it has to do with what is familiar—which isn’t necessarily something to avoid!
Striking a balance between the North and South Lunar Nodes seems to be the most creative approach, as opposed to favouring one over the other.
Comments anyone?
Who else has a Vi/Pi Nodal axis???
Warmly, Kim

Wow...Kim, that was unbelievably poetic, profound and precise!!! I really want to thank you for going above and beyond for me in terms of your replies to my posts...I don't want you to think that I'm taking advantage of, nor taking for granted your wisdom and expertise (as well as your valuable time!)...I've been studying astrology for a long time and I'm sort of stuck in that place where I have all these fabulous pieces to some magnificent puzzle, yet I can't quite see how they all fit together just yet... I also have great difficulty being ojective about my own chart...so it's nice to be able to have a fresh pair of eyes to put things in proper perspective... It's interesting that these lunations keep occuring along points in my chart that have something to do with 'soul purpose' (namely the Sun, MC, and now the nodes)...I'm dealing with a lot of issues that involve big life decisions...choices are being presented and I'm having to get clear on who I am, what I'm about, and ultimately what I want my life to represent (and I'm realizing that it really is up to me)...I'm 26 and I still don't know what I want to be "when I grow up"...I'm working at a job that's pleasant, but it's way below my own capabilities and earning potential (this was fine when Saturn was moving through my 12th house, but not so much since it's crossed my asc. and sitting in the early stages of my 1st house...the heat is on, so to speak)... The crux of the issue is very "nodal" for me...I'm vacillating between wanting a job that's secure, steady, prestigious, and with great opportunities for material abundance (Leo Rising...N.N. Virgo/2nd house) and the intense desire to follow my creative urges and spiritual inclinations to serve others (whether it be through astrology, tarot, intuitive life coaching, etc.) and retreat from the material world altogether (12th house Cancer Sun...S.N. Pisces/8th house)... I definitely sense that change is approaching and it's a sensation that's hard to shake with Uranus opposing my natal Saturn...fear and trepidation are also big issues, as well as a lack of certainty and agressive ambition (Aries MC...Mars in Gemini in the 11th in opposition to Neptune in Sag. in the 5th)... My life looks very much the same as it did a year ago...but suddenly, everything feels quite different...I won't bore you with anymore details, but I will take this opportunity to thank you once more for making things just a bit more clear!!!... I look forward to reading other people's stories about lunations (a subject that I've been forced into really examining as of late) and their contacts with the natal nodes...so please, if you're reading this and have a story to share, don't hesitate to do so!!...and Kim, as always, your insights are much appreciated!

Your most welcome, Lunariviera! Your contributions are always insightful and spark interest! It is difficult to read one's own chart....ugh...I never know where to begin...The best way to learn how to put all the pieces together is to work with the charts of friends and family members (and be most aware of any assumptions creeping in) and charts of 'famous people' perhaps from the past so you can see how transits worked out, etc. Just keep at it and slowing things will go 'click' (then you can read my chart for me!!!) Kim Yes, please post experiences with lunation transits here everyone! I'm having a full moon on my natal Pluto/Asc soon....and who has planets on the eclipse degrees this year??? 24 Virgo-Pisces? 15 Pisces-Virgo?
