In January my 2nd progressed lunar return happened. There has been so much big stuff going on in my chart over the last few months, and still now, that I failed to really experience the return although I was looking forward to it as some sort of cyclic emotional completion or re-birth. What should have happened? Who on here is "old" enough to share what happened at theirs?

Hi Star, I haven't had my own 2nd lunar return, but they corresponded with the Saturn cycle so often there is an affirming of aspects at that time, especially if you have Moon/Saturn in aspect natally. Think of the Progressed Lunar return as a once every 29 year monthly return...which makes it 29x12=348 times as potent (technically).
Whatever your moon is 'doing' in the natal chart, however she is aspected and what her needs, wants and offerings are, they will be 'reasserted' at the time of the progressed Lunar Return. How you give and receive love and nurturing, how you like to live in a domestic sense, your relationship to your own mother/mother figures and your own children/children figurers 'slide into place'.
It can be a time of deep awareness if you turn your attention inward towards what you want to create in this realm. When we are born, the have these 'raw' emotional needs, natural and authentic. The needs are met, or not met, depending on our experience of life and perhaps some are even forgotten or replace with 'survival' drives, ambitions, etc. The progressed Lunar Return is a time when we can go back and reassess that 'original' template and maybe find ways to honor and nurture ourselves authentically. It's a chance to increase our sense of happiness and joy, because we can see clearly what constitutes happiness and joy for us.
Does that makes sense?
Can you relate to this at all?
Anyone else?
Kim

Thanks for that Kim, that's kind of how I was looking at it too, but like I say, it was a time when I couldn't really see the wood for the trees..... and no, before you ask, Neptune does not aspect Moon natally :-) except with quite a wide trine, too wide by my books. Certainly how I relate to my kids didn't slide into place - more like slid OUT of place! But then my two closest natal Moon aspects are a quincunx to Uranus which rules the 5th and an inconjunct to Chiron at the IC. Ouch. Natally I do have Saturn and Moon in trine but the 2nd Saturn Return doesn't happen until 2010 so it doesn't really correspond to the Lunar Return... does it? Maybe there has been some re-aligning with my own emotional needs at a more authentic level just because I have had to come to terms with fractures that have come about between my children and myself, and therefore energy has been freed up to look at what I want for my life rather than always putting them first. Thanks again Kim for your generosity of input, Star
