Hi Everyone, I wanted to open up a dialog about this upcoming conjunction. It does occur every 1.76 years and may prompt an event (inner or outer) especially for those who have personal planets or points at 18-20 of the fixed signs. From my Eros Transit Page:http://falconastrology.com/transits.htm On the 7th and 8th of June, Eros will conjunct Sedna, one of our furthest bodies in the solar system. For more information on Sedna and her mythology and discovery, go to my Sedna Page. www.falconastrology.com/sedna.htmBecause Sedna can spend hundreds of years in a sign (she has been around 19 Taurus for years now) her effects are pervasive, not acute. If Eros acts as a trigger though, we may see 'Sedna' activities at this time. Watch the news for storms, cyclones, earth quakes and volcanic activities, especially those originating under the sea. Look also for indications of global weather trends (global warming) and their effects on nature, particularly the arctic and Antarctic regions. What can we do about this? In our own charts, look to where we are not honoring this life/death goddess. Disruptions could be warnings to realign ourselves with this deity. Like the shamans, we may need to journey down to the icy depths and find out what sacred ritual has be violated, and what we can do to make amends. Comments? Questions? o: Warmly, Kim

Hello All (each and every one of us who has ever inhabited our Earth) ... I hadn't been reading this thread but the resurrection of Jade caught my eye (thanks and wb, gf!) ...
I was astonished by the thread's content, as I'd just awakened (spending 10 hours sleeping these last few days) from a dream about a world cataclism ... In my area, it was a volcanic eruption followed by a huge fissure opening up and the ocean pouring into it ... I dove in to save two kittens -- one a couple of weeks old, the other about 3 months ... We surfaced safely, only to find that the effects of the blast had caused many ppl to have their hair fall out (like radiation) ... bald men and women trying to catch trains, incensed by what had befallen them ... Meanwhile, I make my way to a loft, where the kittens and I will be safe ... However there are government men already there who say I must come with them ... But the kittens are still safe ...
Clearly, I must join the fray ... Off to check Sedna in my chart ... more later ... J

I know the Title of the thread was Eros but I was curious as to the synchronicity of the drop of the R making it Eos.
Eos by Ryan Tuccinardi The Greek personification of the dawn, the daughter of the Hyperion and Theia and the sister of Helios (sun) and Selene (moon). By Astraeus she was the mother of the four winds: Boreas, Eurus, Zephyrus and Notus; and also of Heosphorus and the Stars. She was depicted as a goddess whose rosy fingers opened the gates of heaven to the chariot of the Sun. Her legend consists almost entirely of her intrigues. She first slept with Ares; this earned her the wrath of Aphrodite who punished her by changing her into a nymphomaniac. Her lovers were Orion, Cephalus and Tithonus.

Wow...I wake up this morning and ...what have I missed? Jade, is that you? Oh WECOME back! I started with this thread and haven't read the horary yet. Jamma, what a dream! Kittens in danger often feature in my nightmares! Eos? LeYel, thanks for the Editing point...and the 'parapraxis'? (Thank you Dr. Freud) Clearly Eos has something to say...!!! Thank you everyone for your posts. You honor Sedna by participating. Warmly, Kim ps, I quickly checked transiting Eos: She is at 6 Gemini today (conjunct my Gemini Sun by a few degrees & heading for a return in my natal chart --natal Eos 23 Gemini) I guess she wants to communicate on this topic! I wonder if she can be a guide to the 'Sun', to our sense of individuality, distinction and purpose? Much to ponder.

what a beautiful thread.... love the 'eos' theme - no such thing as mistakes, only destiny re-directed! Jamma - wow what a dream... from someone who has regularly had 'cataclysm' dreams since early childhood I understand how they can affect one. did you start a project 3 months ago? 3 weeks? *sigh* my dream last night was rather more 'Eros' than Sedna...I'm have some strange transits - but I digress! Sedna is at 1 Taurus conjunct Saturn, in my natal 11th house - and I feel a very strong sense of purpose when it comes to 'mother' issues. So far I've been researching the underlying reasons for our conceptual and practical fear and loathing - and simultaneous idealisation - of Mothers and motherhood, with a direct link to Earth and the archetypal Great Mother.... I won't go on about etymology or the like here - but as we all know the sea (la Mer) is the 'primordial soup' from which we all came - the waters of the womb of the magna mater... Its something I think about a lot - its said that Earth supports Water and vice versa - and as a Taurus sun I am very connected with Earth and Nature - but one thing I have always been utterly in awe of is the sea. Its just too vast and powerful for me, and while I love to sit or walk on the shore (not in summer - never been attracted to beach culture) and feel that power - I have no urge whatsoever to swim or sail or any of those things. Actually the idea completely petrifies me Having said that, whenever something huge and cataclysmic happens (like the tsunami) for some reason I feel that Earth is 'taking back' somehow - and this restores my faith that life continues - does that sound odd? I don't mean to diminish the human loss - I cannot imagine it! - but at the same time the thought of every human being completely wiped out causes me less grief than the idea that Earth might die. Hmm. maybe I should stop here before I get myself in trouble! peace, pm

Hey Prima and Scorpy ...
I have pretty much the same attitude -- that the Earth will endure, while humanity might just have an "expiration date" ... Sometimes, I see ppl with "Save the Earth" signs and think to myself, "What you really mean is, 'Save Our Butts' " ... Not an unworthy sentiment, but I think it's important to know what one's motivations are! ...
And, the fleas metaphor strikes home ... when I lived on Maui, I had a sense that the island would really like rise up and shake all the parasites off her body ... but Earth is a Mother, and so she goes on providing for her thoughtless brood ...
That said, I ran a natal and, in addition to the usual suspects, added some asteroids suggested by my dream: 90377 Sedna h13 ... True BMLilith 224 ... Oceana 2202 .. Pele 9563 ... Kitty 221 ... Eos (thanks to Kim and Freud)
I discovered my natal Sedna is at 21 Aries, conjunct Vesta (currently sandwiched between the two is transiting Anteros) ... All are very close to the IC (if I use my present location, Vesta is exactly conjunct the IC and Sedna is just stepping into the 4th) ... Amoroso, could this be why I "feel" Sedna in my root chakra? Transiting Kitty (my love of felines a reminder that what we humans do affects the rest of the animal kingdom) and Eos (opening the gate?) are hugging my NN at 7 Gemini, perhaps inspiring me to write on this thread ...
Re the transits by themselves: Today, tr Pele is at 22 Scorpio, opposite the midpoint between tr Sun and tr Mercury/Sedna ... It's as if the Sun were illuminating the exchange between Pele (archetypal heat) and Sedna (primordial cold), with Mercury there to "translate" ... (Isn't it interesting that the conjunction with Mercury has got us all talking about Sedna?)
A hui hou ... J
