Dear Kim et All,
Does anyone have any experience with the Qunidecile (165 degree aspect) in synastry?
Thanks, Amoroso

Example? (there is a book called The Quindecile: The Astrology & Psychology of Obsession by Richenda Reeves... boy, that title says a lot! Obviously, outer planets linked will have a different impact than if a personal planet or angle is involved. I haven't really used this aspect much. Why not give us a summary of the quindecile in the natal chart and then how you feel this might link together in "people as permanent transits' synastry. The first thing is that the planets are connected. What does that mean? The planets are activated by the other person (perhaps not right away, but at some point). How does each individual respond to this part of themselves being 'woke up'? Kim PS I found an article by the above author on the 165 Quindecile: "THE QUINDECILE or The Fatal in the Natal, The Obsession in Progression, The Bandit in the Transit, and The Need to Be in Synastry. by Richenda Reeves www.widgetsworld.co.uk/articles.php?article=36&waw=1b81728722c06c08c6f5f8562712fa88I haven't read it yet. What do you think?

Ordinarily I can relate to anything dealing with obsession, but I do not have any quindeciles in my chart and I haven't found any yet between myself and others. I'll keep looking! Thanks Amoroso! Fun thread!

I tried to post this message twice! The Trickster is at it! It turns out that I have the book and have never read it. So I will take a look at it and post some thoughts. I thought to ask because I awoke out of the blue the other night with a mental picture of a line that went from my natal Venus to C's natal Mars. And there was a quendecile! More soon, Amoroso

In my synastry with the man I've had such a hard time getting out from under my skin, I've got a couple of quindeciles that look rather telling: his Pluto 165 my Chiron, and his North Node 165 my Chiron.
His Uranus is also 165 my Saturn, but that doesn't convey the same energy to me as the first two, which seem to simply scream from the rooftops of a very intense, karmically felt healing. From the instant we met, it felt like a hook of energy went into me and would not let go, and I've never felt that intensity before. Obession/compulsion would be apt words to describe it.
There was no way to extricate myself from that hook without severing the relationship entirely. What a relief... I don't want to go anywhere near him, because I don't want to feel that way again. It was such a powerful magnetic pull in toward his energy field, like Pluto drawing me in, with the sense that we're *supposed* to intimately close. That sounds like the energy of the players involved in those quindeciles. Seems to reinforce the theory posited about what they signify.
Yeesh. Glad to be removed from the intensity of that forcefield! LOL samina

What is the most orb you would give a Quindecile? The man my friend is trying to set me up and I have a Venus-Pluto Quind. (his Venus my Pluto), but the calculation comes out to 166'92*

Dear NA,
Welcome to Kim's forum!
The woman who wrote the above-mentioned book suggests that orbs be kept tight--2 degrees for all bodies expcept the Sun and Moon, for which she allows a whopping 2.5 degrees.
So it seems the 166 is still within orb.

This may seem ultra-basic, but is there any way to calculate quindeciles on astrodienst? ... It seems like they only show quintiles ...
Without software, what's the best way to calculate quindeciles -- just counting around the circle? Does anybody use "dials" for the lesser used aspects?
Thanks, J

Jamma, it's real easy to do it yourself.
Say you have a planet at 7 Tau. Look at the exact opposite which would be 7 Sco. Substract 15 = 22 Lib. See if you have anything close to that point between 20-24. If not, add 30 to 22 Lib = 22 Sco- this is the other option for a quindecile to the Tau planet. Check between 20-24 sco.
Try it once or twice and you'll see it's not that difficult

Thank you Butterfly for the "formula". The article is sort of startling and intriguing.... The more I look at my chart the more I realize how much Neptune has infiltrated my relationships.
Natally My Venus Qs my Neptune (0 orb) and My Neptune Qs my Moon (1 orb)
In my synastry with Doc:
His Neptune Qs my Mercury 2 orb His Pluto Qs my Saturn 2 orb
My Venus Qs his Neptune 1 orb My Mars Qs his NN 1 orb My Eros Qs his NN 1 orb My Chiron Qs Uranus 1 orb
There is a weird thing in this relationship. I continue to assess and analyze it. I have an almost compulsive need to communicate with him. Not touch or feel or see him---but communicate with him--letters, notes and such.

I will report more on the book which I have finished, as soon as I have time. I discovered that I have a quindecile between my Pluto-Jupiter conjunction and my Chiron-Eros conjunction. I will try to explain how that has played out in my life so far, but the idea of obsessive-compulsive is very interesting.
In synastry, the word is that the obsessive-compulsive nature of the relationship runs both ways only if each individual has quindeciles in their natals. I would think the main planets would be the place to start.
And it is no surprise that there are many quindeciles with C in synastry, and he has Q's in his natal, also.
Blessings, Amoroso

This is really interesting. I got the book too. I got a few quindeciles in my natal charts and the book explains my characters for those aspects quite true. However, the book did not say much about how to explain quindecile in synastry. So, I am not quite sure how to interpret them. I have the following quindeciles with one guy: My Moon quindecile his Sun My Sun quindecile his Sun My Venus quindecile his Venus My Venus quindecile his Pluto My Mercury quindecile his Mercury My Moon quindecile his Saturn My Northnode quindecile his Sun My Sappho quindecile his Sappho
What I know is that we love to talk to each others a lot. I think I can call it "obsessive". I love him a lot too. I cannot let go my feeling. I have beening thinking of him every minute for two years. Probably it is because my Moon is too obessive with him (his sun). I do not know whether he has the same feeling vice versa or not. Actually, I want to know too but now we are apart.
The book says that Venus/Pluto quindecile in synastry is very strong. However, we are still be friend. Anyway, I know that on the first day I met him and had 15 minute talk, I felt that he is the one I have been waiting for in my entire life. I do not know whether he would feel the same or not, anyway.
Any thought?
Alisa
