Here's a curious configuration: the fixed star Regulus tightly conjunct a composite Leo ascendant & Uranus, & opposing the Part of Fortune & Ceres.
That axis is also then square Sun (10th), Moon (4th), Mercury (10th), & Venus (9th).
This looks like a good candidate question for Astro Tutor, but anybody have a clue on how Regulus might fit into the equation? Astrologycom.com has this to say about it:
<<Regulus *Lion's Heart: The most Royal Star. Raphael, the Healing Archangel, the Watcher of the North. Nobility, ambition, alertness, great power, status, leadership, sudden downfall, accidents, violence >>
Happy week-end, all! samina

From stariq.com, here's an interesting quote on Regulus:
<<Soon after sunset, look to the west to see the dying lion, as the constellation Leo dives toward the horizon, lost in the light of the Sun. Leo is a sickle-shaped constellation looking like a sideways question mark. The curve is the lion’s head and mane; the bottom of the question mark is Regulus, the heart of the lion. One of the four "royal stars," Regulus is the brightest star of Leo, and has long been associated with kings and queens. Remember Richard the Lion-Hearted? A modern leader with Regulus strong at his birth is Bill Clinton. This famous star now aligns at 29 degrees of Leo.>>
Regulus on the ASC definitely appears to highlight the Leo energy of the relationship. Knowing how patterns tend to emerge in charts, I checked out the 5th house & found June conj. Pallas trining Venus & sextiling Neptune (they're opposite & sitting right on the MC/IC axis), and found the North Node in Leo trining the Moon & sextiling the Sun & Mercury.
Altogether, these configurations make a very beautiful double-pointed diamond shape in the chart.
Anybody else have some interesting Regulus placements?

Samina, Thank you for the link and info! I'm going to check it out this weekend. I have 29 degrees of Leo rising, so it's a special fixed star for me. Much of the lore around it--the watcher from the north, ambition, status...downfall...all resonate. It's also called the 'Astrologers' Star' which makes me smile. The fixed stars have an interesting energy in composite charts. Well worth exploring. I lived with a man for 5 years who had 29 degrees of Leo rising (only one in every 365 'others' will have this statistically) and of course our comp had it as well. It was an extremely problematic relationship for many reasons, though I think there was something 'fated' about it. If nothing else, we 'recognized' each other immediately! Let’s use this thread to discuss fixed stars in composites! (I, and that relationship, also had Caput Algol (The Medusa's head at 25 Taurus) at the MC. I think we did both 'lose our heads' and not just once in public! Boy...memories! Kim

Dear Kim and Samina,
My husband and I have our composite AC at 29 Leo also!
I think the link Samina posted provides an accurate description of this star on the AC.
Not so much in the home, where our Aquarian energy takes over (my 4th house Aquarian Chiron/Eros is conjunct his eighth house Aquarian Moon/Mercury...)--and of course, Aquarius is on the axis with Leo) but when we we out in public there has always been very much a feeling of being "proud" to be together and very "proud" of the children. I hope its not arrogance , but rather the "feeling" we are somehow on display and being looked up to. Whether or not that's the case is not important--that's how it feels!!!

Very interesting thread ... Amoroso, when you mention you and your husband being "proud together," I immediately got a picture of a royal couple -- Arthur and Guinevere ... Jamma

Hi Jamma!!
And guess who's Lancelot??? HA. I've even had weird thoughts about the connection between the two men..... I even looked up those asteroids in all of our charts! Now I'm getting too weird, even for myself..... Amoroso

Hi Amoroso ... Yes, I thought of LanCelot, too ... the story rings so true regarding your being torn between "duty" and your heart ... But you aren't weird at all ... Eros has us do wondrous things, and that's what makes this board so potent! ... I just did the synastry chart for my husband and me (seem to be doing everything backwards, but what does that matter to the nonlinear side of the brain?) and noticed that his IC is at 29 Leo ... don't know what Regulus/Raphael signifies here ... Also saw that I have one of the archangel stars, Fomalhaut -- aka Gabriel, Watcher of the South -- conjunct my natal sun ... maybe that's why I was so moved the first time I saw the Southern Cross ... Wow, this is so interesting -- I'm surprised by all these 29 Leo connections! Am looking to hear more!
Jamma & Amoroso, I get the same kind of royal-couple feeling when I'm around this other person, too.
Amoroso -- don't feel bad... I've been looking up all these asteroids & fixed stars in the charts of *everyone* I know. LOL It's a glimpse into a whole new layer of relationship, that's for sure.
Is anybody else using Davison Relationship charts when looking into composites? I found that Regulus is also sitting on the vertex in the 7th house of my Davison for the same gentleman above. I'm curious about how the patterns reinforce themselves through repetition.
samina
Is anybody else here looking into their Davisons for fixed stars?

What about Regulus conjunct the Moon in the 7th in the composite? It feels like everyone knows how intense we feel about one another. What are your thoughts???

With fixed stars, do we just refer to where the degree and sign falls in our chart? i.e., 29 deg. Leo for Regulus. I'm wondering what would be the purpose then of imputing the star letter/number as one can do on Astrodienst.
Can someone please clarify? Thanks! Jade

NetuneWoman,
I think the fixed Star Regulus/Moon in the composite 7th can refelect how others relate you to you as a couple--they may see you as having strong emotions, regal bearing--dramatic, creative, outstanding.
I think it unites you in some way, some purpose, that combines your energy magnanimously. Think of it as a VERY strong dose of Leo.
Jade, you can note fixed stars in the chart, if you want. There are stars at EVERY degree so we don't crowd them around the ring--like you said, no point. But in some horary questions, (say, about a pet or a friend) it could be interesting to plot Serpens...or if you were wondering about protection or success, you'd note Spica...
Is that what you meant?

Kim,
I meant just putting the noted longitude of a star to where it falls in the chart as in, "where does 29 deg. Leo fall in the natal, etc." If it's just that simple then yes, that's what I meant.
What about then, Right Ascension? The letter and number are given under that category. I don't feel I can use the stars adequately until I know what I'm doing!
Thanks, Jade

Jade,
Don't worry about right ascension.
Just plot the longitude--ie, note in your chart where certain fixed stars fall, especially if there is a personal planet there or angle.
For example, plot Regulus at 29 Leo in your chart. What house is this? Are there planets there?
Plot Spica at 24 Libra. Where does that fall?
Plot any fixed star you like that seems to have some meaning at the time...
That is how you do it...just put them 'where they fall' around the wheel. In Astrodienst, you can 'add some fixed stars' and that's just that...a few of them plotted around the chart.
