Hello Kim!
...any input on this combination...transiting Eros will be conjuncting the composite Sun in the 8th (20 Taurus)...soon after Venus, Mars, Mercury, Vertex, Lilith (black Moon)...all conjunct in the 8th (Gemini)...squaring Pluto...
...I feel like there is a vulcano in me...ready to explode...whenever he is in my thoughts...wonder what will happen when I will be in his presents...
...ever so thanksful for your time and effort!

Hi Nina,
Thanks for the question. Take a moment to join the forum so you can continue to post whenever you want.
Your volcano does sound like Eros through the 8th house. This is an important time to look at the deeper intricacies of the relationship, it’s orientation to intimacy, risk, growth, change and transformation. (and don’t forget sex and money)
The composite Sun represents the purpose of the relationship. What are you two doing together? In Taurus, there is a very tangible quality that seeks sensual pleasure, ease and comfort. The 8th house, however, won’t let it rest. It’s about taking things to the extreme, risk, danger, deep probing and profound intimacy. You are probably getting an idea already of what Eros will stir up!
Eros transits to the Composite Sun can stimulate the solar qualities of the couple, making them feel more vital and alive. The Sun can represent a sense of conscious awareness and when Eros touches that awareness, we may become attentive to our sense of drive and purpose in life, in this case, purpose together. Passion can fill the gaps of lassitude and a burst of energy and enthusiasm may ignite.
Eros to the Sun can indicate a spark or resurgence of interest and attraction that can lead to a new level of relating. The inner need is to impart vitality and passion to conscious goals and aspirations by bringing clarity and exuberance into the sense of who we are. Regardless of the outer event, the inner experience is often one of joy and enthusiasm.
Has anyone had an Eros contact to composite Sun recently? What happened?
Let us know how this fits.
Warmly, Kim

Hello Kim!
Thank you for your insight!
This is a very strange relationship full of 8th house stuff...we work together but I feel we come together for other reasons...there is so much electicity in the air whenever we meet...for work (of course) that even strangers coment on the cloud around us...like the two of us are on a island isolated from the rest... I wonder if Eros Transit will bring anything to the surface...sofar all the passions, emotions, fantasies were flooting around in the ether...8th house manner
He is very secretiv about his emotions and he manages to confuse me everytime we meet...
in synastry my Venus/Moon conjunction fall in his 8th house conj. his South Node and square his Venus my Sun, Chiron, Mercury and South Node in his 7th my Neptune square his Sun/Uranus conj.,trine his Venus and opp. his Mars my Pluto conj. his Asc. and trine his Mars my Eros trine his Venus and conj. his Psyche
there is much more, but because of this aspects I come to the conclusion that it can not all be only my imagination... what do you think?...just wishful thinking?
I really appreciate your input!
Blessings,
Nina

Hi Nina,
No, I wouldn’t say this is only your imagination. You list some very strong and alluring contacts. That doesn’t guarantee a relationship in the traditional sense, though already, it seems to be an unforgettable journey.
I wouldn’t never dismiss wishful thinking! Mercury is the winged messenger of the gods, and your thoughts, as Isabel Hickey always said, have wings! What you dwell on is what you, unconsciously, breathe life into. Wishful thinking is a potent creative tool, as is your imagination.
So yes, this is wishful thinking ACOMPANIED by some strong and tantalizing connections. The Nodal contacts suggest a particularly keen bond, one that will facilitate or move your life forward in some way. The Neptune contacts are extremely romantic…all these romantic notions. It can lift you up out of the mundane and remind you of a more refined and rarefied existence. There is also another side to Neptune. It can coincide with idealization and the flip side of that is resentment. We want the other person to be divine, where Neptune in concerned, yet we have to choose out partners from the human race. Tricky.
Pluto contacts link to extreme passions and dramatic experiences. Power and control come up and must be dealt with. It can get compulsive but my word is it intense! This mirrors the 8th house link. Very erotic.
The Eros/Venus/Psyche brings desire and longing to astonishing levels. There is much to explore here. The question always is, will you explore it? Timing is important as is circumstance. Sometimes, when faced with such potential, we quake and retreat. It takes a brave heart to enter into a dynamic so compellingly animated. Are you both feeling brave?
Even if “nothing’ happens, much has already occurred. Think of how you feel! Think of all that electricity. Already, you have experienced with him something new.
If you let go of expectations or assumptions about what constitutes the ‘next step’ or where this relationship ‘should’ go, you will be able to experience it to the depths of your capabilities, both of you.
Watch the transits and progressions to composite, P. comp and natals. Eros over the composite 8th house Sun would be a great time to move things forward. Let us know what happens!
Thanks for the post. Please join the forum!

Hi Nina, I am glad to see the curiosity about asteroids here! I don’t have time to go into details with so many questions. Perhaps other forum members could jump in with their experience of these contacts. Anecdotes can be as helpful as delineations! Have you read my article on Synastry? www.nrg.com.au/~d-falcon/Eros_by_Transit_or_Progression.htmIn this piece is information about these asteroids and how they may awaken feelings, actions and intentions in the couple. Have a read of that and then pick ONE question at a time, focusing on ONE asteroid contact you want to learn more about. If you always remember that PEOPLE are like Permanent transits, you can start to see these contacts as aspects of the SELF waking up. What do they NEED, WANT and HAVE TO OFFER? If her Sappho is on his North Node, then being around her is like having a Sappho transit to the North Node, ALL THE TIME. You have to ask first how he is feeling about his North Node? If he is adventuring forward, gaining new understanding of himself and his directions in life (via the sign and house placement of the Nodet, then her Sappho there will add passion, refinement and poetic yearnings to that search. Something in her will boost his search, enriching his experience. She may find that the contact feels fated in some way, as if being around him awakens something poetic, sensitive and alluring in her. Doe you see how this can work? If he is avoiding his North Node, not moving forward at the moment and uncomfortable with new self-discovery, being around her will remind him of it! It will make him nervous and prickly. If you first understand how an individual is expressing any given planet or point, you can start to see how another person coming along and activating it will affect them. Does this make sense? How do you think the Sappho/North Node works in this case? What sign are involved? What houses? Think polarity here! Let’s look at these questions one at a time. Does anyone else have a comment on Sappho/Node contacts? Warmly, Kim

Hello Kim!
Thank you for your reply!
Well Sappho/Nodes...his N.Node is in Libra in the 2th house conjunct his Jupiter and Neptune...I feel that her Sappho energieses his creativity, his sense of styl, art and beauty...BUT...Sappho...of course...also opposes his S.Node in the 8th, Lilith (black Moon) and the Vertex...his S.Node is also conj. her Moon/Venus conj....this energy is completly different then that beautiful, sophisticated, gentil, sensual encounter with Libra...it is deep and dark, secretiv and very powerful in a psychic way, sexual and potentialy very, very distractiv... I feel that a Aries/8th house S.node is a bit of a challenge...since it is so ego driven, possesiv and absolutly not willing to give up...number One...so the lessons of love, giving, listening, cooperation, sharing...of his S.Node are difficult to learn...she through her Moon/Venus sitting on his S.Node also holds him back in a way...pulling him into that dark, plutonic side of his soul he is here to transform... I feel that Sappho brings even more of that passionate energy to this combination...for the good and the bad.
Looking forward to your input!
Blessings,
Nina

Nina,
I liked your descriptions of Sappho in this complex aspect opposition. I do agree that Sappho is VERY sexual. The key, I think, is for him to move the relating out from the occult, secret 8th and the self-willed, self-directed Aries and learn to value and take pleasure in (2nd) the socially significant aspects of union (Libra).
Of course, it is much more complex than that, though it seems the general pull. Her Sappho, and Moon/Venus, simple reminds him of his own process there. Sometimes it will feel wild and adventurous, sometimes like a safe haven, and sometime a quagmire of stagnation! All we can say for sure is that she wakes this theme up in him, and certainly, his actions activate her conflicts between Moon/Venus/Sappho - nurturing, values, love, intimacy and sexual expression.
Like you said, Sappho brings even more of that passionate energy to this combination...
Thank you for your contribution here. Warmly, Kim

Hello Kim!
Thank you!...I really appreciate the way you explain those complex matters of the heavens...of the universe...of life and love...it always becomes more clear...even to my pisces mind...!!!
I'm not sure if I should start a new page or if I continue here...with my asteroid questions...please advice me...well, anyway...
Anteros...he is brother of Eros...no?!...how does he express himself...how will that energy manifest...(where could I find more about this mythical figure)...
...in this same chart we find... her Anteros opp. his Moon, Eros...his Anteros square her Sun...

HI Nina, It is fine to keep going with the synastry asteroid questions here. This is the “relationship” forum, comparing one chart to another. In Myth, Anteros is the brother of Eros. He was created, some traditions say, to appease the loneliness of Eros when he was a child. Anteros is linked to love returned or love avenged. It represents a strong force of energy, not always met immediately. There seems to be a theme of timing. We don’t always know what we want until it’s gone, or we can’t have it anymore. Here are a few sites relating to the mythology, to get you started. www.theoi.com/Kronos/Anteros.htmlhomepage.mac.com/cparada/GML/Eros.htmlAstronomically, 1943 Anteros is a Near Earth Asteroid orbiting between Venus and Mars, discovered in 1973. He takes 624.82 days to orbit the sun (1.7 years), a little less than Eros’ orbit of 1.76 years. Astrologically, Anteros may be a point of intensity and desire. It stirs deep and righteous passion that endures. It may not be an easy contact, yet it is steeped with import. Anteros is a place of love’s longing, a place for love to meet. If someone contacts your Anteros by synastry, if you feel anything at all, you will feel the urge to be with them as described by the house, sign and aspect. For example, my Anteros is exactly opposite my Moon. Anything touching off the Moon or appealing to my sense of nurturing love and security is going to activate my Anteros longing for love returned. In your synastry, with both of these asteroid Anteros stimulated, there is an awakening when you are together. Opposite Moon/Eros means that when he is being nurturing, passionate and erotic, she feels an inclination to meet him on that level. It really grabs her attention. When she is being distinct, creative and pursuing her goals (Sun), he really notices her, really starts to feel something interesting. The asteroid describes what urge or desire is tickled, the major planet suggest what does the tickling. Make sense? Anyone else with Anteros comments here? Warmly, Kim

Thank you Kim!...for all the information...I start to understand how this energy...Anteros...works
would you interpret natal Anteros falling on a composite Sun...as the purpose of that relationship being influenced by that persons desires...or the purpose of the relationship itself tickling emotional needs in the individual...or...probably...both?
how would Anteros falling on a Venus/Mars and Venus/Moon Midpoint be felt?
Thanks so much for your time and energy!
Blessings,
Nina

"...would you interpret natal Anteros falling on a composite Sun...as the purpose of that relationship being influenced by that persons desires...or the purpose of the relationship itself tickling emotional needs in the individual...or...probably...both?"
Hi Nina,
This is a VERY good question. I don’t think the composite chart is influenced by contacts from the synastry that creates it. It is a separate entity, the composite. It doesn’t have a consciousness of its own, like the natal charts represent. Links to the composite don’t “do” much to the actual Composite chart any more than two mountain climbers do much to the map they are sharing.
Contacts from the individual to the composite chart can indicate that individual's link to the relationship. If your have an aspect to one of the composite planets from your natal chart, you are going to feel very intensely connected to that aspect of the composite, the relationship. You man not have more influence or control over the relationship, but it is going to mean a lot to you. Also, you may become the one that “acts out” the nature of the planet touched.
In the case of Natal Anteros conjunct the composite Sun, the natal person is not going to influence or control the composite with their desires to give and receive love. The composite isn’t really touched. However, the Anteros person may be VERY tuned into the purpose of the relationship (comp Sun) and put a lot of love and desire into expressing that purpose. This can be quite creative, although if the other person has no natal contacts to the composite Sun, the Anteros person may have to act out the purpose on their own, which can become lopsided and limiting.
Does this make sense?
With your midpoint question, are you talking about natal midpoints, synastry or composite?
You have raised a very important point here about how the composite functions. Anyone else have comments?
Warmly, Kim

Thank you, Kim! ...yes what you say make's sense...but I do intuitivly feel and think that the Composite, even being a separet entity is influenced by natal planets from a synastry...a Composite is more or less like the creation of two people...their child... that child is a indipendend individual it is still connected and influenced in many different ways and on many different levels by it's parents...the interchange between this three different entities is for ever moving...changing...together...
just some thoughts...
the Midpoint question was about the natal chart...his Anteros falling on his Venus/Moon MP and also on her Venus/Mars MP
Blessings,
Nina

Hello Nina,
I agree that the composite represents the energy or individuality of the relationship. It is a separate thing from the two people that create it—a third factor, like you say, a child. It does highlight certain aspects of the couple and their synastry, affecting them, so to speak, by imposing its own distinct themes and energy onto them.
What I meant when I said that the composite chart is not influenced by contacts from the synastry was that the composite isn’t about how the two people affect each other. It’s not about compatibility. It’s not like comparing his Mars and her Moon or the sysnastry Suns. I think comparing the composite to the natal charts says more about how the relationship (composite) affects each person and others in the collective than how that person (natal) can influence the relationship (composite).
Liz Greene has lectured extensively on the nature of the composite and the “fate” of the relationship. She feels the composite is “impersonal” in the sense that the individuals can’t work on it. They can’t take the composite into therapy and change it. She says the fundamental patterns of the composite are not open to influence by the individuals, and I agree with her.
We can work on our awareness of how some aspect in the composite (relationship) affects us, but I don’t feel our natal input makes any ripples in the composite.
For example, let’s say one person’s natal Mars falls on the composite Sun and the other person’s natal Neptune falls there. Right away, we know they have a Mars/Neptune conjunction in their synastry. This synastry suggests how they affect each other and is something they, as individuals can work on. One person’s will and assertion (Mars) may feel diluted or drowned out by the other (Neptune) or maybe one may take the role of victor (Mars) and the other as victim (Neptune). There are endless possibilities in the synastry and they can CHOOSE to work with them, if they want to.
Because the composite Sun links to both these points, each individual will feel activated by the relationship. The purpose of being together (comp Sun) may really get one person’s sense of power and healthy aggression going (the Mars contact) and the other person’s sense of longing for the divine (Neptune). The bottom line is, that natal Mars and natal Neptune isn’t going to do much to the composite Sun.
The natal contacts don’t really affect the nature of the composite aside from highlighting the individual’s awareness of what they touch. In this example, the natal contacts don’t change the purpose or add a Mars or Neptune effect to the comp Sun…or make it grow. The composite chart may be a child of the synatry, but it doesn’t evolve. What you see is what you get, when it comes to the composite.
Most people are uncomfortable with this premise because it implies fate…a lack of personal control and I think its true. There is something incredibly fixed and fated about the composite chart. I feel we experience the composite much differently than the natal charts and their sysnatry to each other. That difference is tied up in our LACK of influence over the entity of the relationship.
I am very interested in your views here. Tell me how you feel the composite is influenced by the synastry. What is your experience? I am quite open to anyone’s views on this.
Thank you for this thought provoking topic!
Warmly, Kim

Hello Kim! Thank you for the detailed explanation...I agree with everything you say...also Liz Greenes work I value very much...BUT...I think that her views and interpretations are some what limited...probably the difference between a Virgo and a Pisces...
I feel a Composite is as much fated as a natal is fated...it evolves and grows as much as a individual grows...it doesn't exist in a vacuum...if you take the individual to therapy the Composite comes along...
my expierience is that it's very strongly affected by transits...and what about the progressed Composite!?
every natal and every Composite has an essential message...the karmic necessity of the individual or the Composite is "fated"but how this karmic seeds are dealed with is a ever changing process...
I'm not sure if I make sense...
Blessings,
Nina
