I've been very intrigued with Nessus lately. Have been observing what happened in the past but now will soon have him on my Vertex, it will actually be exact when Pluto will be on my descendant. Nessus on Vertex, Pluto on descendant it feels a bit like going poke the devil himself in person.

Hi almach good to meet you on the forum! Your post intrigued me so I went away to look up Nessus in my chart - in Gemini a few degrees from my Ascendant (1st house). I've never given him much thought - probably because I have so many other asteroids in that first house - but given that he is so prominent, and therefore probably visible to others, I'm going to take more notice! Just been to have a look at Zane Stein's site (have you come across his writing on Chiron and the other centaurs?) www.zanestein.com. He talks a lot about Nessus, the mythology and about personal experience of Nessus transits. He quotes other writing on Nessus which compares Nessus to Frankenstein's monster. As I read, I thought to check transits for 2 years ago. And sure enough, there was Nessus over my South Node/Saturn conjunction in Aquarius, at a time when I fell deeply in love with someone but locked myself away from him because I didn't feel worthy of him. I remember distinctly feeling ugly, what was I thinking that anyone, him particularly, would be interested in me? I just wanted to hide. And that feeling persisted for several months. With the South Node/Saturn connection, the Nessus transit was clearly bringing back old past life fears about inadequacy. And any conjunction to Saturn for me is an exact opposition to Venus, so a love connection brought that out. Thank you for posting about Nessus!

Hi Ariesmoon!
Yes, I've been to Zane's website several times, have been reading a lot about the Centaurs lately. Nessus really does seem to bring a lot more past life stuff even, than Chiron does for instance. For me Nessus will necessarily bring unlived and unaccounted for past life love, of the type that has probably been repressed time and time again. You know, one of the areas on your chart where you have the least possible control on your life is 1) The Vertex, 2) the south node. Mine are very close to each other and the triple conjunction (Jupiter, Chiron, Neptune), is taking place exactly at the midpoint. It took me months to finally realise what that meant for me. Nessus brings back painful experiences but also very deep passion. I've been observing for a couple of years now that this was going to happen, I mean having Nessus over Vertex, by the time Pluto would finally reach my 7th. And I know the person too, and what's more, I know I'll try my best to repress any manifestation of attraction from my end because I so much feel there is a mission to be accomplished before I can even think about giving in to such emotions. Nessus over Saturn was also quite painful for me in terms of relationship since I've got 7th house Saturn, I realised the person I was with, after so many years couldn't be the supportive person I needed by my side, it was a difficult breaking up. But Nessus helped me let go of many things in my life at that period.
I don't know why but I feel I love this Centaur very much, I think he'd kill or die for that person he falls in love with.
