Saturn moving into Libra today, the Draconic South Node and the degree of my Draconic Saturn. So in a way it's my Saturn Return Mark II! Yes, I'm smiling about that! I'm getting so much insight right now into how to "use" Saturn for my best advantage, and how to learn the lessons it has taught me whilst in my 5th house. I'm making friends with Saturn, remembering that it's the planet of alchemy, of turning lead into gold. I've let old (maybe past life) fears dog me into this life and prevent me from taking risks in love and creativity. That I need to make a more conscious effort to let my hair down and let people into my heart. Now Saturn is in my 6th, I'm determined to make conscious use of it straight away - I've started when it was in Virgo by organising my work environment, making what I do more efficient, clearing out clutter and by refining my diet. And by taking up yoga again. Libra is intercepted in my 6th house so it's been an unknown energy for me - I haven't ever learned how to be "at peace" in my work, I've always been fretting over details (Virgo on the cusp), taking it all too intensely (the Scorpio side) and working myself into an exhausted frazzle. I've never "got the balance right" (Libra) between work and home. Saturn there is going to give me the discipline to find that balance and to remind me too of the consequences of not doing it. And to say that I can be "at peace" at work, even when I'm busy.

Airesmoon! I was just coming here to put up a post for Saturn into Libra! Thank you! The crossing of the Zero Degree Aries Point by any outer planet is BIG and the Saturn transit is pre-heating the Uranus crossing soon to come. Notes on Saturn into Libra:Saturn makes things real. He is the scaffolding on which we hang ‘existence’, the bones and joints that hold up our physicality, the beams that keep the roof over our heads. He represents paradigms currently in place, the ‘consensus reality’ of a given culture or group. As lord of boundaries, ambitions, and responsibilities, his entrance into the sign of Libra means some cultural beliefs will be examined, and all goals, relationships, aspirations and possibilities will be assessed, tested for authenticity and restructured where necessary. Remember: Saturn is exalted in Libra and that tells us something about our relationships--that a creatively expressed Saturn energy can bring out their BEST! To experience him creatively, Saturn needs to be understood. Think of him as the task master, symbolizing a part of us bent on overcoming fears and becoming everything we can possibly be. To do so, he may push and prod us towards individuality, encouraging choices that authentically reflect who we are NOW. As individuals, Saturn teaches us to be responsible for our own feelings and actions, allowing others to take responsibility for theirs. What he offers in return for this realization is a distinct and powerful sense of self, integration and grace—and the tangible manifestation of our desires, particularly in the area of life being transited. If this area is an INTERCEPTED sign, as ariesmoon's is, even more opportunity to identify our needs, wants, desires and authentic expression comes to light. Libra on the 6th vs. Intercepted in the 6th: (ariesmoon, this is from my Vital Signs book. Might be a springboard there)When Libra is found on the cusp of the sixth house or contained there, the need to partner, cooperate and enrich falls into the day to day environment, health of the body and routine work. This placement may express by forming small business partnerships in which they actively work. They require harmony in the workplace and will put a lot of energy into maintaining balance and esthetics there. Libra wants to function under the auspice of fair play and can become highly opposing to conditions that are repressive or unjust. (This is the sign of equal relationships in the house of unequal ones.) Their propensity to lash back and contest comes to the foreground in the sixth house of analysis and critique. An interest in beautifying the body and enhancing its natural health can apply with Libra in the sixth, giving fulfillment through careers and jobs associated with this field. There may also be expression through mediation or counseling in the workplace, team-teaching job skills or even helping owner’s train or care for their pets. Whatever they achieve, Libra here needs to feel a sense of compatibility and equilibrium in their day to day living, whether at home or at the job. If Libra is in the sixth house yet not on the cusp, as in the case of the interception, the need to share in the day to day routine may initially be difficult to fulfill. The work environment, family, social or cultural may not offer the support and opportunities Libra needs to express authentically here. The native is then compelled to search in more obscure areas to find the life-style and health routine that suits their needs. Let's use this thread to discuss the next 2.5 years of Saturn in Libra! Kim, I have not heard of your Vital Signs book! You've been holding out on us!
Can you post the part about Saturn into the 12th house. I'm sorely in need of that!

Aphrodite, It's another unpublished astrology text.... Here is the take on Libra in the 12th, which I'm guessing Saturn is about to activate? Or is there a span of Virgo there too--(must look up your chart) Libra in the 12th HouseWhen Libra is found on the cusp of the twelfth house or contained there, the need to share, cooperate and partner falls into the well of the collective unconscious. This is the domain of hidden feelings, taboo desires and conflicts, unformed artistic and literary expression and longings to merge with the divine. With Libra here, sensitivity to the needs of others, to aesthetic beauty and nature and to the suffering of pain and separation may long to express through the pursuit of relationship. Somehow, forming partnerships and sharing unconscious dreams can bring a sense of warmth, composure and symmetry to the native that is otherwise missing. Libra in the twelfth house needs to balance the insufficiency of others who may be suffering, with their own valid and individual needs. Boundaries are important as Libra learns how to give and receive while retaining some of their own space and ground. It is easy to be swallowed up in the twelfth house and with Libra here, objectivity and fairness need to equalize with the desire to serve and save. This is the sign of pleasing the other in the house of no limits. Between the two, Libra may give excessively to partnerships or even form loving attachments to those who are hurt, wounded or somehow ineffable. They may also mediate on behalf of those with no voice (animal rights, child abuse victims, posthumous expiation). If Libra is in the twelfth house yet not on the cusp, as in the case of the interception, the need to partner, share and cooperate with something linked to the collective unconscious becomes more complex. At first, the home, family or culture may not support or encourage the authentic drives of this sign, forcing the native to seek more obscure forms of expression.

As someone with Mercury, Venus and Pluto in early Virgo and Sun at 18 Virgo, I'm just happy to have Saturn leave my sign! It will, however, continue to be in my 2nd house until late next year. Not that I'm not grateful for the lessons and grounding in myself Saturn has conferred. But since Saturn was in my 12th and went over my Ascendant and into my first and then hitting my Sun, well, it's been a long haul. Saturn into Libra is making an interesting transit - will conjunct the composite Saturn in my relationship - so, a Saturn Return, of sorts, though we've only been together for 6 months. Saturn is at 4 Libra in our 5th, conjunct Moon at 8 Libra, which has generally shown up as a committed relationship (there are many other composite aspects, which I won't get into!). A committed relationship is unusual in my life, has been hard to come by, and is generally going well. Any thoughts on what the Saturn transit to composite Saturn is about? I know Saturn is supposed to be exalted in Libra, so at least that's a good thing! Oh, transiting Saturn will also conjunct our composite Juno at 1 Libra.

My, my, my... Thank you for this thought process. You just caused me to remember something. I'm pondering Saturn conjunct our (D and me) composite Midheaven and North Node! This is going to be an interesting year and beyond!

Wow I started something here! What great posts and thank you Kim for the section on Libra intercepted in the 6th - that did make sense. In a very odd way. As soon as I read it, I thought how challenging it is for me to think of my body as beautiful or to make the effort to "beautify"myself externally. I buy expensive body and face creams, and they sit in the bathroom gathering dust. I start an exercise programme, then give it up. If Saturn = discipline, then I welcome him to the 6th house!
I've also realised that, as an early Cancerian, Saturn is now squaring my 2nd house Sun and making a T-square with Sun and transiting Pluto. I'm already being tested with the Pluto opposition so I'll be looking out for the effects of Saturn too ...

Hey Everybody,
Even though Saturn was still in Virgo when I last posted about it, I discussed Saturn's kind illumination of my career situation and the changes that I needed to make in order to fulfill his challenge that I need to be true to myself and to my calling. Right now, Saturn is opposing my Pallas at 1 Aries, joining Pluto in applying pressure there. One of my favorite astrology books, Sextrology, has given me a lot of insight into Pallas Athena. Even though when I thought of her, my immediate take had always been of a man-hating, vain, warrior woman I had never thought of Athena as an artist. I had never particularly thought of Aries being artistic or creative. Don't ask me why. I don't know. It wasn't until I asked the birthday of one of my vendors that things began to click. This man creates gemstone jewelry (like me), he sews (like me), he makes bath products (like me), and he has two stores (like I dream about). He also teaches (martial arts). I was in one of his stores earlier this summer buying clothes while waiting for an order of shea butter, jars, fragrance oils, and liquid soap to be readied and wondering at the similarities of our interests and I asked him his birthday. I was shocked to hear that he is two years older than me to the day! And I started thinking. So I went back to the Sextrology book and read the part about Pallas Athene, which I had previously skipped. I discovered that she is a craftswoman par excellence, and not only in weaving (poor Ariadne, can't win for losing), and a defender of women. I can get to both f those. And I am certainly vain, being an Aries Sun/Aries Venus conjunct.
Now what does this have to do with Saturn in Libra? Plenty. I have one of those charts where Saturn is always hitting something close and crucial. All of my planets are in some way connected to either my sun or my moon and they are all spread out, so everything is up close and personal. I used to say, "Saturn is always kicking my ass". But life got so much easier when I started saying "Saturn is always refining me". Sounds much nicer and makes for a more positive experience. Aphrodite told me that Pallas is the strategist. Well, Saturn is defining the parameters of the strategy she is giving me for the rest of my life. It includes my career path, yes, but it also includes the nature and goals of the rest of my life as well. Yesterday I was compelled to go to the gym for the first time since June. I sat today and formulated a workable plan to lose the 50 pounds I've gained and held on to since my break up with my son's father in 93-94, when both Saturn and Pluto were squaring themselves in my natal chart.
Saturn in Libra is also refining my spirituality, and allowing me to integrate some of my beliefs that have heretofore been seen as totally incompatible, and as such removing barriers to a new relationship that has blossomed since early summer. Late last spring several of my former high school classmates accepted my requests to friend me on Facebook. One of these was my third grade boyfriend. I had only seen him once since our high school graduation and that was at our 30 year reunion. There was a strong mutual attraction, but I hid mine to him due to the combination of conflicting religious paths (I was on my way to a priesthood in a traditional African religion, and he is a Christian pastor and founder of his own church) and a beloved childhood friend who had a lifelong unrequited love for him. He did not hide his attraction to me, but was easily discouraged by my coolness to him.
All of that was discussed at length on FB chat, then on the phone. Other topics were discussed as well, and we soon were in contact several times a day. When I went home to visit my parents, we spent some time together and much more time on the phone. Feelings grew and so did trepidation over religious differences and how we could find a bridge between our two beliefs. Although I have been given a lot of information through dreams and meditation that this bridge and merging was indeed possible, it wasn't until Thursday when saturn went into Libra that I was given the key. I should also say that Saturn came into orb of our composite Ascendant on Thursday, and that is significant. Even more significant to me is the fact that the tone of our conversation has started once again to move toward deepening our relationship instead of just treading water. He is a Taurus with a sun/Mercury conjunction and so you know he doesn't have opinions, he has convictions. His mind cannot be changed by outside influences and he doesn't make decisions quickly. He says, "I am very cautious". I understand that I am not cautious in the slightest, but as we have a Sun/Mercury conjunction by synastry as well as a Mercury/Mercury conjunction, we are able to communicate with each other and have a strong need to.
Saturn is all over our relationship. We are from the same town and our parents have known each other since shortly after our births. We are older (52), and we have a long standing and durable attraction (I left out that we shared a couple of mind blowing kisses while we were teenagers), and Saturn is coming along to lay the foundation and consolidate what we are trying to build here. I am very excited.

Great Thread!!!!!!! I too am glad to see Saturn leave Virgo, lessons learned during my Saturn Return conjunct Node were plentiful and it is time to celebrate... I hope? lol Now Saturn in Libra is currently moving through my 3rd house and now I see why I am struggling with writers block and have had serious doubts about my ability to write and to be creative. So, I just put writing and plans to take that creative writing course on the shelf and focus on other things. Interestingly, next year my solar return year will have Libra on the ascendant at 1 degree with Saturn in Virgo 12th tightly conjunct the ascendant -and- Jupiter-Uranus will both be opposing the Asc/Saturn by 00-01 degrees! Plus, Pluto on the IC will be opposing my Sun/MC in a tight aspect and basically I have a really heafty cardinal grand cross to contend with that year. Oh dear...

The only real aspect that Saturn in the O degree point in Libra affects is my Juno near 0 degrees Aries. Saturn moon conjunction in first house makes saturn effects keenly felt. Libra Saturn would be then placed in my 10th house sector. (Jupiter the ruling planet of my Sagittarius rising poised very near my midheaven) Not that ever meant fortune and fame..but always did give me some prominence to a limited extend but not Micheal Jackson type of fortune of fame. Not that I haven't tried to get my star to shine brightly. While I do enjoy being on stage and getting people pumped up at like social gatherings. I still feel the pull of inhibition and Saturn's rein on my bombastic, boisterous personality. (Think Yosemite Sam inner nature and Greta Garbo "I vanna be alone" outer nature) I have a very afflicted 7th house Mars (afflicted by Moon, Saturn in a wide orb..and by Jupiter) So I am attracted to aggressive go getter type of women. I've been literally chased down sometimes by them. Scorpio women and Aries women just fascinate me but also drive me crazy. Love and marriage hasnt been kind. However I think that can change and I shouldn't be afraid of love and stop being so defensive. This Saturn Libra seems to be making relationships very important. I've had to re evaluate relationship..even ended long standing friendships over my standards that I felt they failed me Anyway if any women here have a strong Mars I'm probably helpless against your charms and energy. Strong Mars especially Mars in late Aries especially. Although my 7th house Gemini is ruled by mercury and I also love Taurus women especially those with Venus or Mars close to late Aries.
