Although we celebrate New years day on Jan 1st, the real new year actually starts tomorrow (20th March) at 6:25pm (where I live- Swansea UK). Should we make new resolutions ? There is a grand trine at this time with the sun/NN, Saturn and the Moon. There is also a square with mars and the retrograde mercury and a square with jupiter and neptune. Any thoughts about this?

I found this by Cheri Yamamoto: ------------------------------------------ On the Vernal Equinox, March 20th, we celebrate the astrological New Year as the Sun moves into Aries. Spring is definitely a time of new beginnings, new life. This year it will even feel like the newness permeates because we begin it in a New Moon phase with the moon in Aries. The New Moon itself was actually on February 27 at 11:56 am (Please note that all times posted are set for the Aleutian-Hawaiian Standard time zone.) Under the influence of the Aries moon, (the moon whispers, "I need" and the sign that it is colored by tells you "what" is needed.) the "I AM" principle dominates.
The Vernal (Spring) Equinox happens this year on March 20th at 8:26 am as the Sun moves into the sign of Aries, the 1st sign of the zodiac. It is at a time when the days and nights are equally balanced. It is a great time to be celebrating birth and the beginning of Spring, but wait a bit longer, if you will, to begin new projects, especially ones even remotely concerned with growth - for this is the best time for such matters.
On March 29th we will have yet another eclipse. This is one of the Sun at 0:15 a.m. (quarter past midnight), 8 degrees of Aries 35 minutes. This again will not be visible in Hawaii. In ancient times an eclipse of the sun often was considered to predict the death of a great leader. In this case, it just might, because Pluto turns retrograde two hours later. Pluto is the planet that governs the powerful, the masses. It will be interesting to see how it all plays out. Don't forget that astrology is the study of energy from heavenly bodies (planets & stars, etc.) that we are influenced by, but it does not take away our free will... .we get to decide how we will use that energy. I have heard it said that the stars impel, they do not compel, and the nuance is most applicable in this case!

Hi, well, I for one will be happy for a new energetic start tomorrow... sometime in the last hours before the vernal equinox the sun will conjunct my NN in the last minutes of Pisces (which is to say, the first minutes in NN orientation!?)...
I am feeling utterly sick, having had an altercation with that revolting, repulsive, disgusting little man I was once married to, who has been having sex with his girlfriend with my children in the bed with them. Needless to say there will be legal action, and the end of weekends where the children stay over at their dad's.
Please Universe - make something good happen now!
This seems to be a manifestation of the astrology of the moment in the worst possible sense.
wish me peace, pm

Happy Vernal Equanox Nige! Thank you for the information.. My resoloution is trying NOT to get pushed around so that I become scared of my own plans... and to keep up with my "atheltic endevours". Recently I went through a diagnostic health/fitness thing, and discovered something... I do have a brilliant heart rate and all that stuff really positively athletic people have, but I am lacking on one basic thing, which is really a huge problem - My oxygen intake is hindered and is far lower than the rest of my body's health.. this in turn must be a problem for my training... and the sad thing is, although I have expanded upon it, and brought it up a bit, its still too low to be "competitive". My goal is to see what I can do about it, and fix it... if it can be fixed. I'm worried that I will once again be looking at the wrong thing when I go to the doctor so that any way that it can be fixed will be ignored.. When I first started my marathon training, I noticed my heart rate used to take a nose dive from time to time, so I had my heart examined, closely by the doctor.. and NOTHING WAS WRONG... now I know, embarassingly that its not the problem but a symtom of a problem... hopefully one that won't be a problem to fix. I love the new picture, Nige! Be well, and best wishes for a Welsh New Year! Svenskasfinx

Thanks for this post, Nige, I forget how cold it can be in other parts of the world!!! (and Juliet! Naked in the 0 degrees???) Brrrrrrrrrrrrr It's a sauna here, most the year...or a steam bath! I think that fire trine is potent for setting out new intentions for the year and we need to do that today! What do WE want? Need? have to offer? It is time to ask this of ourselves. The square to Mars in Gem from Rx Mercury makes me think there will be words, public and private, that may be darted out! It's like "Speak fast and retract in leisure!) A lot of rethinking about what we say, believe and express...a lot of "I don't know why I said that...it just slipped out." Probably, a lot of formal apologies. Debates will be interesting. PM, get a clear intention today and send it out! I can see the Mars/Mercury in your words!!! Nothing wrong with letting things rip! Sven, I didn't know about the o2 situation. Sounds like a strong and clear resolution though! Wishing all wellbeing! Kim

Happy Vernal Equanox Nige! Thank you for the information.. I love the new picture, Nige! Be well, and best wishes for a Welsh New Year! Svenskasfinx Happy new astrological year svenskasfinx When did you start marathon training? How hard was it to start ? And how many miles are you up to now? I used to run for my local club and love running, although it is a bit tougher on your joints than some other sports. The most I ever ran was 10 miles in 1hour 10 minutes and I ran an off-road multi terrain in about 1hour 25 minutes. My best 10k race was 36 minutes My old cycling mates started running last August and invited me to join them, but my knees and hip hurt when I run too far so I couldn't. I was against running at that time because of the knee pain. Since then though I have been walking miles everyday, sometimes up to 10 miles. This walking would also hurt my knees and hips a bit, but surprisingly the more I walk the better my joints have become. Now when I walk if I come to a hill I will run up it. Where I walk there are also some huge sand dunes so I run up these too and I love it. At the beach where the sand is soft I like to do a few sprints, so gradually my walks have become maybe a third running Maybe one day I will do another race Actually I was talking to my brother the other day because there is a race up and down the highest mountain in Wales snowdon. I wanted to know can you just do the 1st part and run up the mountain, then catch the train back down I could do the running up part now but could NEVER run down it, it would kill my legs With your low oxygen intake, I'm not sure if this is the same thing that my mate had but he was having chest problems and the doctor said he had some low oxygen intake problem. He was given a thing that measured his lung capacity and he had to blow into it in the morning and evening and record the measurements. He was faster than me at cycle racing, so one day he gave me a go of this oxygen measurement thing and mine was a lower score than his!! He put it down to the fact that I used to smoke. Maybe it is worth me getting mine checked now to see if I am OK?? Also, have you seen them power breath products? athletes use them to increase lung capacity? here is a link: www.fitnessnetwork.co.uk/products/Powerbreathe.phpThere are also other ways to increase your capacity that I have just found, like: 1;exercise. 2;Yoga breathing exercises and the inhalation of medicinal herbs. 3;living at higher altitudes. 4;holding your breath for as long as you can. 5;singing submerged in water up to your neck.?? 6;Spending lots of time above 20,000 feet. 7;Deep breathing exercises Such as one they teach in music school. Take the deepest breath possible and hold it for 10 seconds and exhale very slowly, try hissing as you exhale and try to hiss as long as you can and time it. then work you way to holding your deepest breath for 20 seconds and then 30 and so on. 8;blow up balloons. ----------------------------------- I always wanted to run a marathon and I even watched the commonwealth games marathons the other night, they were excellent Keep up the training Nige

I have told them all that this is a great time to start new plans, although they unconsciously already seem to know this I have planned for a long while that I would cut down on my drinking at the start of the astrological new year. Now though, I just feel like I will quit altogether (or maybe just drink on special occasions). I began drinking 8 cans of 3.6% beer every other day so I could give up tea (it sounds crazy but is true). Well I've done this for maybe 6 months and it's time to stop the drinking now and concentrate on getting more healthy. Lots of plans for eating better and everything, will see if the new moon helps out Happy new year Nige

Hi Nige, Thanks for this thread and post. I especially like the breathing exercises as I am a singer and a singing teacher and am constantly reminded that this art form is basically an athletic event, like dancing! My husband has been involved in building his running for quite some time now. PM, just wanted to say, GROSS. I would be so angry in that situation that I would POP. And they awarded money to this creep? ?? Well, honey, you don't mess with a Mama and her kids. Whatever form things take, they will be TOTALLY successful this time around! Blessings, Amoroso

Nige, Good luck on your health improvement! Nowadays there are so many good books regarding health. One as an example:Dr. Gunther Harnisch, the mineraltherapy of Dr.Schussler.It tells about the basic minerals you need, with also an indication of symptoms if you have a lack of one of them, and which mineral you should take than. I am also using Schindeles minerals, directly from nature. This man cured himself of serious healthproblems he had for decades with this in a week! There are so many therapies nowadays that are so great, like the petroleumtherapy, and you know HERBAL theas are always okay. After all natural laws are cosmic laws... Wow,now I sound like a real Mr. KnowItAll ,but just want to point out that we all should take care of our health:a really great book is the one of Harald Hosch, don't know the exact title in English though... Be well

Sven, I didn't know about the o2 situation. Sounds like a strong and clear resolution though! The O2 situation was only obvious after that health test I took to assess my atheltic ablity.. I have to realize that it is possibly after an illness after 1996 that the whole structure has been changed, and not in a postive way. I have always had a breathing problem for one reason or another.. but after that infection in 1996 ( in the lungs ) things really changed.. although I could still sing, my vitality was lowered considerably. (if anyone has heard my myspace project, the tribute song was post 1996 and with a cold ) Nige the thing that some of these things recomended do is increase the amount of hemoglobin (something I have a good amount of) another thing kind of "super" about me is that my hemoglobin is around the amount of a normal healthy MAN only + that.. (as you know women as a rule have much less) I can hold my breath a long time, but the intake problem is not so much about low amounts in the blood, or absorbtion but rather getting the air in the lungs, that's why I think I have to do something about it. Yoga headstands are excellent because they really do make the lungs work in a different way, and are fast for developing more capacity. I've never smoked but have had problems since I was a child because I lived with chain smokers and had a huge problem with allergic reactions to smoke and chemicals in the air. I'm worried there may be little I can do to really get my lungs to become normal, however I have taken my own healing into my hands. I started my training (at first) the day after my birthday in 2002- then planned to try the 10 kilometer run in 2004 that year but was held off by a break in my training caused by Menigitis.. I've come back to it now.. because the cramps didn't exactly go away and my schedual became so hectic in the process of being a mum... So now I've gotten back a few months ago (at the end of January) and have been sick with a cold that got me reversing gears again.. I'm doing not only exteme cardio training but also a bit of strength training..to increase the strength in my muscles. I usually don't do the running machine anymore but rather went in the direction of a cross trainer which gives the effect of skiing or skating--- something more along my style, and softer on the structure. Thanks for all the well wishes and tips, I do need to really see an expert about this, and I know it. That aside, I'm holding to my resolution (not getting bullied around ) well see what happens. Best wishes for everyone! svenskasfinx

Hey, it's good to know you are training I go to the gym whenever I can (maybe only once a week or 10 days) and my favorite machine is the ski and the step machines. I also like all the leg training machines at the gym probably because of all that cycling and running I did. I don't use the running machine too because it's not so good on the joints, and as I said I only run uphill or on soft sand. I think there are better ways to keep in shape than running. Swimming is may favorite, although walking comes an extremely close second. With walking it is the most natural exercises that there is. I also find that going for a walk for a couple of hours in the country or beach (with all the fresh air) is really good for the mind too I enjoy the gym but it doesn't give me that healthy feeling that I get from walking in the outdoors (walking on pavements with traffic fumes isn't the same). Today is 7 days for me without any drinking alcohol and I'm doing ok I hope you get your o2 prob sorted, keep up with the training though. I remember one guy who I used to race cycling and he had asthma, he told me that he suffered with it terrible as a child and that's why he started training. He became one of the top cyclists in wales!!! He said he still gets asthma attacks but his fitness levels have helped a lot Nige...
