Hello Everyone, I t can be insightful to watch the transits of the Draconic Zodiac to your tropical natal as well as the Tropical transits to your Draconic natal chart. For more information on the Draconic Zodiac view my tutorial here: www.falconastrology.com/draconic.htmlIf you haven't ever done this kind of transit comparison, a good place to start is with (D) outer planet transits to the (T) personal (natal sun, moon, Mercury, Venus, Mars and asteroids) and the angels--Ascendant, Descendant, MC and IC. Eclipses also can be fascinating to note: [/b]Check were 24 Leo-Aquarius is in your Draconic chart and tropical for the August 17 (Aus) Lunar Eclipse and also check where 5 Aries-Libra is in both Draco and tropical natal charts. Of course Eclipses will always be in early Aries - Libra in the Draconic Zodiac no matter where they are in the tropical chart as the D zodiac takes the nodal position as 0 degrees Aries. This might be one reason why eclipses have such a powerful reputation--they are ALWAYS on our Draconic Nodes! This upcoming eclipse is on my tropical Ascendant-Descendant AND my Draconic Node-Vertex conjunction. We are in the shadow of the eclipse now.... Who else has a close conjunction from this eclipse? Keep in mind that Pluto is hovering over the 0 degree Aries point by transit which activates the Draconic Zodiac big time, and hence the eclipse! For more on the AP view my article here: www.falconastrology.com/aries_point.htmLet's record the events, inner and outer! Happy Eclipse! Kim

Hi Kim and everyone...
my natal and draconic charts are exactly the same (NN at AP) but I have this fabulous new book of Sabian Symbols so would love to share the degrees of this (DR) eclipse...
the symbol for Aries 5 (6) is 'A square brightly lighted on one side'
Lynda Hill says;
"Illuminated solutions that provide ways out of tight situations. Having to put up walls to protect the sides of things. Putting ll your eggs in one basket. Feeling fully contained. Walls and fences. Understanding the borders of one's activities. Looking for stabilisation."
and the symbol for Libra 5 (6) is; 'a man watches his ideals taking a concrete form before his inner vision'
and Lynda's keywords are;
" A vivid confrontation with one's objectives. Creative visualizations. Imagining things. Meditations and affirmations. Ideas being crystallized. Putting things out into the universe. Making things happen. Seeing things take shape and form. Clairvoyance. Film making. Writing and getting published. The power of manifestation."
pretty cool huh? ;D

I've put up a note on this on the thread for the eclipse, but am putting it here too - the full moon eclipse on Aquarius/Leo hits my Draconic Sun exactly at 24 Aquarius. Yesterday, after a few weeks of feeling low, drained and unusually negative I felt very energised and chattered to everyone, I also put on a gorgeous coloured jacket I hadn't worn before, both of which garnered me lots of compliments! It was so spontaneous that I felt like I'd been invisible, or in shadow, for weeks and had suddenly come out into the light again and been noticed.
The recent New Moon eclipse at 9 Leo hit my North Node/Venus and South Node/Saturn opposition exactly. The Full Moon eclipse will hit it again in the Draconic chart - Draconic Venus at 1 Aries/Saturn at 1 Libra.
There's definitely something going on with Venus/Saturn. Not only is progressed natal Venus at 2 Libra (conjunct Draconic Saturn), but it's also moving towards a trine with progressed natal Saturn (retrograde natally, so it's progressed from 10 Aquarius back to 7 Aquarius).
The natal opposition is so tight - 1 minute of orb and right on the Nodes - that it clearly was meant to be a focus of this lifetime, and now, with these 2 eclipses, it's clearly the time for me to be learning about it. Amazing.
Modifying this later as I've just checked on today's Draconic positions to check the transits as Kim suggests. I find Pluto on 10 Aquarius ... exactly on my Tropical Saturn/South Node and Venus/North Node opposition! I'm spooked now! It's been hovering around there in the Draconic zodiac for a few months and this explains why this Venus/Saturn opposition has been so prominent, and why I'm in such a process of transformation both in the way I see the aspect, and the way I see love. I've had to be, that's why!

Hi Ariesmoon! We have a few members getting the lunar eclipse on their tropcial or Draconic sun! At the risk of the pun, it's quite illuminating The activation of the sun brings light, and a feeling of sparkle. Think Leo--Think gorgeous coloured jacket attracting all those compliments! Lovely. Suddenly coming out into the light and being noticed reads like a sabian symbol description--quite perfect for this kind of contact. That it is to your Draconic Sun suggests it is lighting you up on a deep soul level! Your Venus/Node/Saturn configuration will always be activated by any eclipse given the Draconic position. The Draconic Pluto is conjunct the tropical aspect and tropical pluto is square the Draconic! You are really getting some opportunities to find out what you really love! Venus/Saturn gets such bad press (I have the 150 inconjunct) but I don't see it as so troublesome anymore. Saturn is a stickler for authenticity and when he's with Venus he really presses us to KNOW THYSELF and what we want--why we want it. It sounds strange but Saturn is about desire...he just wants to get it right: not the cultural desires or the family expectations or what we think would make us happy but what really does. ;D What constitutes love and nurturing to you? What do you value? What do you really want? Why do you want it? The movement of Eros into Virgo (12 Libra in the Draco!) on the 17th is a great support to work through these questions--I left some tips on the Audio transit report on my main page www.falconastrology.com that might help. Saturn is such an intense focus and I think we often feel down when Saturn activates with a personal planet because we aren't following our 'bliss'. He wants us too--simple as that! And yes, Draconic Pluto at 10 Aquarius! That's my tropical Moon. I've had almost all year to ponder home, family and the past. I just realized this moment that my required subject for this term was a unit in writing family history....Pluto Moon or what? How interesting! Thank you! Primamateria, Thank you for reminding me of your matching tropical/Draconic charts! It's so good to have your example here. And the sabian symbols are wonderful. Much appreciated! So for you, every single eclipse activates your Draconic nodes AND your tropical nodal axis and always in the same house axis. I'll have to find your chart--Which houses are activated? Do you find there is a pattern with the eclipses in your life? Great contributions! Thank you! Kim

Thanks for this Kim - I've been conscious of asking myself just such questions recently, and of really wanting to know the answers, as if there was suddenly more urgency about it. I like the idea of Saturn representing authentic desire. After years of being depressed by that aspect and what I thought it represented, and to an extent living up (or down!) to it, I'm seeing that one of the gifts of the opposition on the nodes is to work with the gifts of both signs and both planets, rather than always seeing Saturn as repressing Venus desires. I'll listen again to your Eros in Virgo audio file!
Family history - very Pluto/Moon! Looking back I spent about 2 years - one when I was ill and couldn't work - delving into my family history, for almost the entire time Saturn was transiting my 4th. It was as if I had to know the realities of where I came from, not just the family stories. "Knowing the realities" works well for Saturn!

Thanks to you all. I have four planets and Eros and Psyche in Drac Aq. Jup at 22,31 (natal Vertex at 22 Leo) and Mars at 3,59. All in natal first house. Natal Mars is activated too, with transiting Uranus hovering at the opposition. Eros close to Pluto in 7. I stopped eating wheat a week ago and have lost five kilos and feel energized! As a kid I could not stand bread, it made me puke, they almost had to force feed me... Going back to my kid habits, likes and dislikes has always worked miracles for me.
Also, after our sixth wonderful vacation, I'd like to take the relationship between my bf and me to another level, give him a key to my place and stuff, and he's drawn back. So now it's down to what do I want from a relationship and how does that fit with his expectations, wants and needs. My wants and needs are extremely clear to me now!
Oh, my drac Pluto is at 17 deg Cap, conjunct comp Sun of our relationship. Love, Juliet

oh Kim, I wondered what you meant by that - the eclipse on Draconic and tropical nodes - on the other thread, so it all makes sense now...
my natal data: 1st may, 1969,9.16 am, Adelaide, South Australia
this particular eclipse is in my ninth house - I don't have any planets there, or in the third (if you don't count Pluto on the IC) but have moon at 24 Libra, Vertex at 25 Capricorn, Midheaven at 24 Pisces, Jupiter at 26 Virgo - so there's bound to be something going on - not to mention that Mars at 29 Virgo during the eclipse, squaring Pluto in late Sadge is also directly affecting the (draconic/tropical) Nodal axis .
(I have Mars/Pluto sq natally, so will watch my temper this weekend!)
patterns for eclipses - yes - I find that the events of the eclipses of the past few years have had long reaching effects.
I find it useful to look at the previous eclipses of the Saros series for clues as to how to handle the events too. For example, the lates Leo eclipse fell in my 2nd house - I looked to '72 and '90 for clues as to what may manifest and how to handle things. although I was only 3 years old in '72 there was a major event in that year (surprise surprise a major move, and the beginning of the end of my parent's marriage, including a traumatic 'soup throwing' fight between my parents which has left me with a latent but deep loathing of home-cooking!) - in '90 I also had a major move, overseas, but this time because I was going after something I wanted very much. I worked and saved a lot of money in a short space of time, and launched myself off into adventure without looking back. Examining these two events has given me a great deal of insight into current events, not to mention where my values have come from, ideas about self-worth and money...
more soon, pm

Hi Juliet, I love that 'going back to my kid habits always works best!' My main kid habit is day dreaming and I think you are right. It's one of my most nurturing pastimes! I can understand how you would feel ready for a new level after 6 wonderful vacations! Is he still withdrawn? It's amazing how we can all be self protective at times...nothing to do with the other person or the relationship usually. Just our own stuff! Are you just allowing him to go through whatever he needs to or??? I'm not sure how I would respond. I want to think I would be totally relaxed and allowing--his choice--everything's fine...I can feel a part of me might get my hackles up too wondering what (after 6 wonderful vacations) could possibly be the problem. Thanks Prima for reminder of the Saros cycles. Do you have a link to a good article and list of the last few decades? I will look too. It would be great to put one up in these Eclipse threads for reference. Your descriptions are very helpful in understanding how this works! Oh the soup throwing!!! BTW, what a wonderful surprise to see you on Jeannette's blog!!! wow! xxx Kim

Just spotted this and wanted to share it! I've noticed the following startling family connections in our Draconic chart, all in orb of today's eclipse -
My Draconic Sun - 24 Aquarius My mum's Draconic Venus - 20 Aquarius My Dad's Draconic Desc - 23 Aquarius My Sister's Draconic Moon - 22 Aquarius, and Saturn - 21 Aquarius
(Mum and Dad, by the way, have just celebrated their 59th wedding anniversary - Saturn connections to Sun and Ascendant in the tropical, and that Venus/Descendant conjunction in the Draconic!) My brother is the odd one out - no Draconic Aquarius connections, but he does have a 2 Aries North Node ..
I'm putting this here because of the connection with the Eclipse, but it would be fascinating to know if anyone else has discovered familial connections in the Draconic charts which aren't there in the tropical ones.

Your brother's tropical and Draconic are very close then--not exact like Prima's but virtually the same. Is there any planet that changes sign or moves into orb of aspect in his Draco? That would be interesting as would be looking at the Dwads, which would most likely shift between the different zodiacs. The family connection is quite interesting to check--maybe a Draconic synastry thread would be good to start? We can compare Draconic contacts in chart synastry that show up when there are otherwise no obvious connections. Thank you for bringing this up! Kim

yes, Kim, I reckon a Draconic Synastry thread would be great - I just checked the charts of the girls and found amazing pattern repetition - between each other's dr charts, and between each of them and my own draconic/tropical chart. Actually this is a bit off topic but the amazing thing is that I can remember getting an impression of each of my daughters at birth - and these draconic charts actually fit better than their natal charts (at the time, now they make sense of course). The youngest in particular I distinctly remember thinking immediately that she has Scorpio rising - but her natal has Libra rising. The draco says Scopio. Perhaps at birth the soul shines through more distinctly!?! hmm, something to ponder... pm

Thanks Kim, I'll look at my brother's chart again with those thoughts in mind. And yes, a Draconic synastry thread would be great - I've got something I can contribute on that already!
As for the Draconic rising sign, I'm now looking forward very much to Jupiter going direct again as my Draconic ascendant is 29 Capricorn! So at the moment it's doing a Dr. 12th house transit, and I'm very conscious of an expansion of 12th house interests and energies (natal Jupiter is in Pisces anyway)
