Hi everyone, Welcome to the new Horary Board. You have to be a member to start threads here, but visitors can comment on any established discussion. This board will explore the world of horary, both ancient and modern. Do the asteroids count? What about the rules that make charts "fit" to read? How does synchronicity and the meaning of time fit in? We can start with an example from the members, if you like. This is where a "photobucket" account will come in handy! Please remember to read the basic introduction--one topic at a time. I want to work with this thread, step by step. Blessings, Kim

Well, I need to get photo bucket, but I'll start with a general question.
The opposition as an aspect in horary puzzles me. It most often means "A seperating aspect," meaning that literally, the two energies represented are physically seperated. But on top of that, Kim has suggested that it may mean "objectivity required" or some sort of balancing act is needed.
I am thinking that in order to include that more modern interpretaation of this aspect, one has to be extremely self-aware and tuned in and brave. Perhaps before the birth of modern psychology, these were intrapersonal skills which the ancients had not yet developed.
Ideas? Comments? Photo Buckets? Amoroso
PS I am particulary anxious to post a chart with the question "Where is my lost student record book?' It is like trying to live without one's appointment book.

Hi All,
Sven and ScorpioMoon had exchanged some thoughts on first few important considerations in deciphering horary chart under the thread "My experience with Horary". Very interesting stuff.
I am curious to know more on horary. Can anybody provide web links that give fundamental information on horary ? Or can somebody jot down important principles of horary ?
Thanks Kris

Kris, Chrissy recommended the book "Horary Astrology Plain and Simple" by Anthony Louis. It is a very good first primer, although I haven't had a chance to absorb some of the more detailed aspects.

Dear All,
I am sorry I haven't participated on the forum in a long while. Saturn through Leo is hitting 4 of my major planets in the 10th house, including its current conjunction on my natal Jupiter-Pluto. Ouch. Way ouch. Want my mommy kind of ouch.
Anyway, I wanted to say that we have had many discussions on reception in horary, and I just read something that I hope will clear some things up. Lilly stated that if two significators are in an applying aspect, they need not be in reception to have the question answered or come to pass.
We actually had determined earlier that reception was needed, even with a trine, sextile or conjunction, and evidentally they are not. I think Ivy G-J says the same thing as Lilly.
Hope this helps.
Blessings and take care, Amoroso
