John Frawley says that one can never ask the same horary question twice, because both universe and questioner change constantly. Most traditional horarists disagree, saying a question should be asked only once. What are your ideas?
Are there many destinies or futures awaiting us depending on our actions and changes in the universe or is only one fated? When you re-ask a question are you doomed to failure or beginning anew? It seems quantum physics would support many possible futures.

Hi Moondance7,
Dose John Frawley says you can ask the same question twice?
My understanding is that you can 'ask again' when 'something has changed'. Let's say you want to move and ask a question about relocation and get an answer that indicates you are staying put! Then, there is a change in the home, perhaps a divorce or marriage or pregnancy and the 'you' and your home has certainly altered. You may ask again and get a new answerer because there are a whole new set of possibilities.
Yes, the concept of the 'many worlds' suggests that we can readdress questions because our future is gleaned from a myriad of possible futures based on which 'wave we collapse' at any given time.
I think the chart tells you if the readdressing of the question is 'valid'. If you ask again and get the same answer, or no answer, well, that's your answer!
What do others think?

This is my own theory....
There are many paths which are presented in this lifetime...many of these paths are correct paths to choose. Therefore, there is more than one correct path which determines your fate. It is also known as Free-Will.
As for horary, I think when one keeps asking the same question over and over again...even if asked differently, it is not a problem of horary, but a problem of the seeker at times. It seems hardly different than shaking the 'magic 8-ball' when you were a teen....you would keep shaking the ball and checking to see if the answer was desirable or shake again if you wanted to see a different answer. That's what seems to be the situation when someone asks again and again. Why the need to ask again other than to hope for a better answer?!!
Things out of our control with regard to other people or situations are often that....out of our control. We do the best we can with each day....and try to learn from our mistakes and also glow in our triumphs. Astrology offers insight and ideas of which all or part of the transit/aspect interpretation may be applicable. Used responsibly, astrology helps guide us....and is not a replacement for Free Will in regard to any individual.
Horary is interesting and seemingly less exact than transits and progressions. Often I read too many conflicting ideas about how that chart can be read when you get into the more intricate details. That is my experience based on what little bit I have read.
And yes, I have read that you can ask the question again, only if something has changed. I just wonder if people knowledgable about transits ask a question on purpose when particular transits are in place that day. Makes me skeptical about the whole question-asking thing at times. Personally, I find more answers in the transits....they seem to carry much more weight in definitive terms.
Just my thoughts....

I have had problems with using a pendulum where it will give me a seemingly opposite answer than what turned out to be true. I wondered if my poles are reversed or something. So I checked to see the direction of yes and no but it was as normal. So I pondered why this would be happening. I realized that by looking at the question in a different way that it could be heard by someone else, The answer was true. I wish I could remember an example. But my husband hears things different so his answer doesn't seem to fit. I think my body, my higher self, was attempting to teach me this.
My point is, when we ask a question we are coming from our limited perspective at the time. As we ponder and widen our perspective we may still have basically the same question. We can ponder that original chart and question again or we can ask again from our new perspective which the chart will reflect. I think the universe is patient with us slow learners and will answer us again. If we already have the answer the chart will tell us so. Many say you should only use the Tarot for ourselves once a day for the same reasons. It's like they think our higher self or God or the Universe doens't want to be bothered with us. How would my child feel if I only let him interupt my day once? Just my thoughts.
