this is a trip down memory lane... and I'm not much for nostalgia these days! but I've been working on my solar return for this year and wanted to check in with what happened in 06 and 07. Its amazing how much has happened, and how I couldn't have predicted in '06 how my life would change! For one, I met the man who is father to my fifth baby only 20 days after the solar return of '06 - as the sun slipped into Gemini (and conjunct my natal Mercury) - this I now see in the return chart as the moon's first aspect (sextile mercury by less than a degree = less than a month!)... I was also pregnant within three months of this - when the sun had moved to conjunct the anti-vertex of the chart (not shown) at 24 Aq (baby was born a year later, a week after my '07 solar return, with the moon on my natal anti-vertex )... this solar return moon also squares venus - and within six months (read; degrees) I had broken it off with baby's father, without really knowing why, beyond the feeling that I couldn't make it work. It was a very emotional year, in fact - and a lot of what was very confusing at the time didn't become clear until this past december. I also moved house in march (just before the next solar return), seven months pregnant - mercury was at the time transiting the anti-vertex of the chart and the sun, uranus and north node conjoined the SR chart Uranus (and it was indeed a sudden move involving a court case, an unexpected windfall and the purchase of a home that was previously well and truly beyond my means) oh, and a final revelation - I tried very hard to avoid the fate of a year behind the scenes and ended up very much so - it really was a year that I stayed hidden from view. now to examine the '07 charts! thanks for letting me rant

ha, look at that mystic rectangle. This has been my best year yet. Hard (Saturn on the Asc, sq Sun!) Scary. But I've been rewarded with a new clarity, purpose and depth of, well, character I guess. this SR moon is conjunct my Natal Moon, and makes only one aspect (to Pluto) before moving out of sign, but no prizes for guessing that giving birth was first on the agenda - within a week of this return. Actually, in December, with the lineup of Sun, Jupiter, Mercury and Pluto (conj SR Pluto) it was revealed to me that the father of baby had been involved (loosely) with a twenty year old girl for two years, that she had been pregnant too (terminated) and 'knew all about me' (had confessed that she had known all along where I live, where my kids go to school, what I do with my days, had parked outside my house many nights wanting to come in and 'talk'). Very disturbing stuff, which I handled very well, all things considered. yeesh. I really had thought I'd given up 'real life drama' in favour of putting it 'on the page'! Last but not least, on March 1st, the sun passed over the SR vertex, and three things happened: 1. I was asked to submit work for an exhibition, and on the same day invited to submit work for a high profile charity event in October 2. a man I once had a strong attraction to, but whom was married to a friend (!) contacted me, by mistake (he was looking for someone else at my address - he didn't know I lived here!) and he is now divorced! We've since started spending time together and its really good 3. a financial miracle, which means I don't have to get a job. I could easily track over the transits to every planet and check for significant events - but I'm quite looking forward to looking over the coming year now - the chart vertex is conjunct the chart sun! Joy! pm

looks like whatever is going to happen is going to happen before my birthday... and interesting that the Ascendant of this chart is within a degree of my natal Mars (which, funnily enough is exactly on the MC of this year's Venus return!). So as last year's Leo ascendant brought my natal third house to the fore - this year's SR brings the seventh house and its Mars energy into the light. SR Jupiter and Mars are on natal Vertex - anti Vertex axis. SR Pluto sq natal Uranus, trine natal Saturn and inconj natal Mercury, and Saturn aspects these too. (getting tired here) the SR nodes and PF on the angles should be interesting... any ideas or input greatly appreciated sleepily, pm

PM! This is such great reference for the Vertex in returns charts/transits. Thank you!
I always say this but if you can pop your natal up here on the same page, I'll give you my inspirations. You're reading of all these returns is very insightful! And wow, the synchronicity of your friend ringing for someone else! Talk about the Universe lining you two up for something! I love that!
I'll be back with some comments. I do like to read the two charts together.
Warmly, Kim

Okay, 25 Cap 22 (I should have remembered that. It's so close to mine!)
The 7th house is strongly activated, with it rising in the SR. It suggests a year of personal one-to-on relationships coming to the foreground--unions of all kinds, business and personal. REmember the 7th is also 'the ex' and things might be smooth and sorted there. Having the girls ties you to those men! I see Natal Mars rising as activation-initiation. Even though mutable angles are more 'laid back' than cardinal ones, this year promises to be a go getter. More energy, more zing! And any latent mars issues are more in the open and easy to resolve. wooo hooo!!! (this is everything from annoying disagreements to fevers and rashes. Think of Mars in the widest sense.
So yes, Jupiter conjunct Natal Vtx and Mars on the anti-Vtx and Mercury trine/sextile. There is a lot of trickster energy there but I see it as a good thing, surprise opportunities to expand, publish, be viewed, travel, celebrate. Jupiter is ritual celebrations such as marriage and with the 7th so strong I would wonder about that kind of commitment --or perhaps a business arrangement much to your liking. What do you think?
The natal transit of Pluto inconjunct Mercury is wildly creative. That's your chart ruler and in the solar return we are back to ruling the 7th house (and SR 10th) and placed in the 6th trine the Vertex exact. What are you doing with your hands? Writing, painting, pottery? Get ready for more exhibitions, a higher profile. That's on the cards, if you want it.
SR Moon sextile Pluto in the 4th has you working at home on these projects, and with 5 daughters it's not hard to see why. I keep getting the feeling of an agent or representation, legal deals, royalties and overseas connections. Aries on the 5th of SR says new for you creative project and with ruling Mars rising, it's going to make a big splash.
I would be delighted on all levels here, and let's see how things go with Jupiter over the vertex! Mine is 19 Cap so I'll report back on that one first.
What do you think of Pluto square Uranus in the N. 4th? It's a long term transit and in the SR it is ruling the 4th--suggests some surprise changes in the home and family perhaps? Look how close T. Uranus is to your Ic-Mc axis! My first thought is, Big Move!
Thank you for posting these. What a wonderful learning opportunity for those working with returns. We have quite an ongoing record here.
More soon, Warmly, Kim

Oops, hadn't noticed that my vertex isn't on that natal chart image - I notice now that the birth time is slightly off (I contacted the hospital and they gave me the time as 9.16 am - only a minute off though) but wow, what a lot of wonderful insights Kim - thank you so much! It does look like a great year, and after a year with Saturn on the ASC I can do with the extra zing and energy, that's for sure. I'm a little worried, to tell you the truth, about the transit of Pluto sq Natal Uranus (and, for that matter, transiting Uranus Opposite Natal Pluto) - I moved to this house a year ago, and just getting settled. If I move it will mean somehow the family trust has gone bust and we've lost the house (sometimes I do stress about this as my father is such a huge risk taker). If that happens I may have to let my girls go and live with their father - yikes! but other than that worry, I can see other manifestations of the transit - baby's grandmother about to pass away, this will be a big crisis to some of the people close to me. it would be good to have some positive thoughts about this - goodness knows the past year has been miraculous as well as challenging - for all that it has been Saturnine I'm glad it went as it did. So really there's no need for me to get spooked. (that's what I keep telling myself! ) work and creativity-wise - I've been doing a lot - writing, drawing - those three pieces on exhibition (for the first time in my life!) and another opportunity in October through a charity auction/exhibition I've been invited to submit work to. Yes, I'm open to more of it. And today I got started on another project to make some money - which is from things I make here at home too - I hope to sell things for babies and children on etsy to supplement the household budget. (things like vintage style hair clips - little ribbon bows - and tee shirts with clever little sayings on them ) as for relationships - right now I have more male company than I know what to do with! Aside from baby's dad - who I must admit still leaves me dizzy - there's an ex lover (a Sagg furnture importer who scared me off with his intense affection a few years back) - and a man who was married to a friend of mine - we always had an attraction to each other but, well, it was never an option. Now his wife has gone off and left him with four kids and he's available. Such a good man! I'm hoping to keep friendship going with all of them, and considering a commitment to celibacy, in lieu of not having any more babies ;D I look forward to hearing all about Jupes-Vertex! Its been 12 years so something is bound to stand out... joy! pm

ps. it bugs me everytime I look at this SR chart, and my VR for this year (which has 17 Sagg on the MC) that the ASC is in the degree of baby's dad's Mars. Its taken a lot of work for me to get to this point of being at peace with our situation - the last thing I need is more anger there. Agh.

just wanted to add this chart to go with the solar return as they seem closely related...again, I see a repeat of past returns - Uranus on the ASC for example... aw, will have to dig around in those charts to compare other points (and do a study of vertex etc) cheerio, pm

ok, now I am slightly spooked - this is the VR chart for '06 - compared with VR '08 - angles within a degree, venus in first, mars in cancer, vertex, ..... any ideas of what this co-incidence may portend??? frazzled! pm

Just catching up with this Primamateria - still trying to get to grips with returns so I'll restrict comments for now on the Uranus conjunct Ascendant in both VR charts. Quick thoughts for now.
I had an event chart where this conjunction occurred - the first sight of someone I fell in love with instantly (I'd always dismissed that as impossible, but not now). The chart may not have been accurate to the minute, as the last thing on my mind was looking at my watch! but it was a few minutes out at most.
I understand in French that "love at first sight" translates as "un coup de foudre", or a bolt of lightening (Uranus!) There was a very definite electric charge to my heart, like I'd been plugged into a socket. It is a Venus return ... not sure whether this is a welcome thought, or not! Just thought it was worth sharing!

Ariesmoon - thats a great thought, I love it! And come to think of it I did have that 'thunderbolt attraction' experience in 2006 within days of the VR, with the moon in late Aqu (or possibly in early pisces - like you I wasn't watching the time!)... well, VR is tomorrow, so I'll keep you posted as to how things go pm
