Hello LunarScorp,
If I could “doodle” like you, I’d be a famous artist! Thank you for that contribution and all your Sedna insights. This is so importing, this exploratory and open-minded research.
If we take Aquarius as being on your 9th house cusp, we get Saturn as the ruler highlight the Saturn-Jupiter opposition. It seemed to play out that way for you! Also the Aquarian “bizarre, extreme and unusual” experiences when it comes to the “belief systems” you grew up in…that fits. (nothing wrong with the Equal House System!) I am glad you survived such an influential and repressing introduction to the world of beliefs!
Warmly, Kim

Sedna I have been stydying since the anouncement of its existance since march last year. It is difficult to assign a ruler to her, one thing I can pinpoint is she has a powerful influence over the feminine fixed axis of Taurus/Scorpio or either the femine mutable axis of Pisces/Virgo. Its too early to pinpoint a ruler to Sedna. However it is clear she diffinetely deals with collective matters of uncontrolable unconcious and uncontrolable natural events that affect and transform the masses. Her discovery aligns with the terrerist attacks of Bali, Tsunami in Asia, Indonesian Earthquakes and as of today the terrorist attacks in London. Australia has suffered the worst drought and then flooding from a freak storm on the Gold Coast that dumped a record 400ml of rainfall in 48hrs (thats 16 inches in rainfall!!!). Freak storms have become more frequent in Britain and the U.S. The building of the massive dam at the headwaters of the Tigiris/Euphrates river in Turkey that will reduce water supplies to other middle eastern nations downstream. Fresh water supplies are now becoming competitive throughout Africa, Middle East and Australia. Sedna deals with the bounty of oceanic resources at the sacrifice of her own humanity to provide for the tribe that diserted her. Since her discovery humanity is being more competive than ever for oil reserves, water resources and ocean resources. Sedna represents the feminine archetype of a mysterious, moody and unpredictable ocean goddess. She is the feminine architype of Pluto and Neptune rolled into one entitity. Uranus is said to be the higher octave of Mercury, Neptune the higher of octave of Venus and finally Pluto the higher octave of Mars. Sedna is the higher octave of the Moon!! Sedna represents in lunar terms the new moon of mystery and darkness. Sedna represents the womb state before birth the darkness and the spark before creation and the passing after one's life. She represents compulsions, disires, uncontrolable events that transform society like her brother Pluto. She is more unconscious than Pluto with the disires focus similar to the moon , with the need to nurture the unatainable for herself, that benefits those around her except herself. If any sign is to represent Sedna I think it would be Virgo. It is hard to tell as she spends at least 40 years in sign on average. Currently Sedna has been in Taurus since 1965-68. Insterestingly this is during the time when revolution spread throughout France, Britiain, Australia and U.S.A with 'flower power' of love, peace and enviromentalism. Very collectively Taurean & Venusian energies emphasised by this correlation combined with Pluto in Virgo, Uranus in Virgo and Neptune in Scorpio ohhh!! Sedna's energies were realised through the Chigago riots of 68, French revolution of 1968 that originated from a mass studant movement in Paris. The nation was at stanstill for nearly a week!! It caused Presidant Degaule to resign. The Hippies were the in thing to preseve mother Earth and her resources through educating the collective about sustaining the Earths bounty. Sedna Inuit myth closely aligns with the Greek myth of Pherspherone and Demeter. Pherspherone was kidnapped by Pluto to become his Queen of the underworld. Her mother Demeter Goddess of the harvest and agriculture created a barren landscape until her daughter rejoined her. Hercules was sent by Demeter to rescue Pherspherone however he comprimised with Hades (Pluto) that Pherspherone should be allowed to visit her mother. So it was decided that Pherspherone would spend sixth months in the world above with her mother and six months in the underworld as Queen. This symbolised the mythological origins of seasons as spring and summer represented when Pherspherone was in the surface land and Autumn and Winter represented when she decended to the underworld with her husband Hades (Pluto). Sedna represents world fruitfulness during her reign in Taurus; World starvation due to lack of resources in third world nations has lead to massive famine's on one hand. In priveledged first world nations a massive advance in agriculture and environmental management. Taurus is the ruler of agriculture and Earthly asthetics. Sedna seems very powerfully placed in this sign nevertheless. However due evidence I can gather she seems to closely align with Virgo. Virgo represents in mythology the critical, perfectionistic goddess. The hands which is sliced off by her father represents the hands of sacrifice. Hands are sacred to the signs of Virgo and Gemini. This furthur encourages my theroy that Sedna has a powerful influence over Virgo. In my chart she is retrograde in Taurus 7th degrees in the 2nd house and opposes my Scorpionic Pluto and Saturn in the 8th house. with a Pisces Ascendant of 28' 38' 11 degrees square Neptune in Sagittarius at 29' 2' 57 degrees in the 10th. I use to have a compulsive fear of the Ocean that a tidal wave would engulf and drown me to death when I was a child. I took four years of resurance of my parents to trust the ocean. I was frightened until six years of age. I always had dreams of tidal waves and drowning. I have lived near the ocean all my life, I love it yet I,m always cautious about it. Sedna I believe holds the key to my Childhood paranoia of the Ocean, perhaps I drowned in a past life experience or something I,m not sure. Sedna is an unconcoius energy that will reveal your greatest gifts and weaknessess uncounciously in the house placement of her. I have experienced debt as I had a terrible car crash my car was written off and I did not have third party insurance Sedna opposed my natal Scorpionic Venus in the 8th, the ruler of my Taurean Sedna. I have to pay the other persons car even though it was not directly my fault it will cost me 3 grand, that I dont have because Im a university student. I lost my job as a delivery driver because of no transport, I have only recently got a job at a gas station console operator on a casual basis. Fortunately it is good money. Oil in itself is a signifier of Neptune and Sedna. Im determined to pay off the debt in three months I have allready saved over a grand in the bank. Sedna signifies unavoidable circumstances that transforms us in society. Because of her influence in my natal 2nd house she is teaching me how to face my own resourcefulness in the wider community by standing up for own self value after being victimised by insurance campanies. I had to get legal advice to convince them to send me the details of the qoutes of the crash!! Whatever house she falls in Sedna will influence sacrificial situations that require perserverance with a collective body. I find it fascinating to the suggestions of what other people have made of Sedna what do others think of my observations with their experiences??

Hello Brenton,
Welcome to the forum! Thank you for your detailed and historically interesting post.
You said, “she diffinetely deals with collective matters of uncontrolable unconcious and uncontrolable natural events that affect and transform the masses…Sedna represents the feminine archetype of a mysterious, moody and unpredictable ocean goddess. She is the feminine architype of Pluto and Neptune rolled into one entitity. Uranus is said to be the higher octave of Mercury, Neptune the higher of octave of Venus and finally Pluto the higher octave of Mars. Sedna is the higher octave of the Moon!”
I agree it is much too early to assign rulership though your thoughts above ring true. I wouldn’t hazard a guess about Virgo at this point...
As from my recent article in Predictions, UK, “Sedna orbits somewhere beyond the outer edge of the Kuiper Belt and the inner periphery of the hypothesized Oort cloud, a vast source of comets and other frozen bodies thought to extend half way to the next nearest star, Alpha Centauri. Her distance is between 76AU and 942AU, making a single journey around the sun in about 11,500 years.”
She stays a lot more than and average of 40 years in a sign. It’s really any where from fifty to over 1000 years. Clearly a symbol of collective energy! She’s moving as fast as ever right now, being at her closest to the sun. (still three times further out than Pluto).
I want to say she synchronizes with collective event only but then anecdotes such as your experience, Brenton, and other’s mentioned in previous posts, “the dancing fingers” and my own SCUBA experiences for example, suggest a more personal action.
As Dr. Kathleen Jenks said,“When victimization moves to the goddess-level as it does with Sedna, (it) signals us that there's an extra depth of compassion for the abused. It also tells us that this goddess-archetype has the wherewithal to make a difference and empower that person whose (planets) are resonating with Sedna’s sphere of power." An other comments?
Thanks again, Brenton.
Warmly, Kim

Thanks for the feedback Kim. I agree that Sedna is diffenetly a mysterious body that needs more study. It was an excellent point you made that we dont fully know how long she will stay in particular signs for due to her massive orbit. More will need to be studied to make more conclusive observations on her influences.

I think Sedna’s lengthy, (she’s only moved a couple of degrees this year) stay in the signs contributes to her association with a deep level of the collective unconscious. There are whole generations that have Sedna in the same sign, sometimes whole civilizations!
Yet when the sign and degree connects with something personal (via Saturn)--say Sedna conjunct the Moon square Saturn for example-- then I think one becomes a mouth piece for the collective, a voice of Sedna.
Some individuals are more sensitive to these outer bodies and they write or paint or dance or sing them for the rest of us. Maybe if we listen to what is being written and sung and danced, we will hear Sedna’s words.

In the Adelaide Sunday Mail a new planet has been confirmed (This is a local Australian newspaper). It is estimated to be 1.5 times larger than Pluto, it is currently unamed, it was first discovered at the Palomar observervatory with the Samuel Oschin Telescope. Its distance is 97 times the distance between the Earth and the Sun. The object was first photographed in 2003 but was so far away that its motion could not be detected. Its effects were studied since that reveals that is a body diffinetly larger than Pluto. Amazing discovery people!!

Kim, I don't know when you find the time to write these wonderful articles, but thank you.
From time to time I've thought about Sedna since being introduced to her here, especially in light of repetitive dreams that revolve around escaping tidal waves and tsunamis and/or drowning.
My natal Mars in retrograde in Pisces. For many years I suffered from clinical depression and acute social anxiety, but have worked through both.
Those dreams have died down the past few years, but it is interesting to note that at the time these dreams stopped, two individuals came into my life that evoked the theme of "drowning emotionally."
The first was my business partner with whom I founded a non-profit arts' education organization. She and I had a very passionate relationship which ended badly and ultimately closed the school. That was VERY rough. (Note: Learn or Die.)
In the second relationship, (my Sedna is near my DC line in 6th house Aries) our composite Sedna is unaspected. But in the progressed composite, she is sextile the MC in CANCER, sextile Mars in PISCES (an echo of my natal Mars in Pisces and his MC in Pisces) and that Mars is square Neptune in SCORPIO.
That's a whole lot of water. But the point is, she is still crying for some sort of recognition from me or this individual would not have had the same effect.
Blessings, Amoroso

Sometimes things come in a visual flash. Transiting Sedna (and she'll be there awhile) is on the exact midpoint between our progressed composite Moon and Sun in 8th house Taurus. This is almost like the example in Kim's article. This position relflects the composite Moon in Cancer square composite Sun in Aries. You think there's a theme going here? All of a sudden it seems easier to let this fish go. Amoroso

Thanks for your insights here, Amoroso!
I think Sedna is indeed crying.
Look at the earth! Look at our oceans!
When she is significant in an individual's chart, they become a mouthpiece for her--they become her Shaman and it's up to them to interpret her needs to the rest of the tribe. The shaman's journey to Sedna is not easy. Nor is the fulfilment of her desires--the ‘making right’ of what has been transgressed or denied.
The depression and social anxiety is perhaps, in part, Sedna withholding her bounty until the 'rightness' has been made. This becomes a collective necessity where it is not enough to do ‘individually’ alone but for the greater whole.
I think your art's education program took on the 'responsibility' of appeasing Sedna--and in some ways you may have found a new level of awareness through it.
When we try to live out the message of this life/death goddess through personal relationships...well, that's a huge ask! Like attempting to live it out in our own inner world, it can get muddled, dark, depressing, or erupt in violence (emotional--physical--even illness or 'dis-ease')
If you are a receptacle of Sedna, one of her Shamans--if your antenna is set to her frequency--then you need to find collective ways to express her.
Does that make sense?
Thanks again for your thoughts on this. Kim

Dear Kim, Thanks for your observations and reminder about the outer planets selecting "spokespeople" for their energies. You wrote-- "I am interested in any major inner or outer events such as changes of residence, marriage, separation, childbirth, death, illness and also public recognition, promotion, demotion, scandal or career changes." I realized that natally Sedna is trine my Moon/Uranus conjunction in Leo. The arts' organization I co-founded, which opened in Sept. 2000, was a singing school for girls. When my partner and I first researched girls' singing schools in the US back in 1999, all that came up on the INTERNET searches were porn sites!! You could look up "boys' singing schools" and up came the Vienna Boys' Choir, Harlem Boys' Choir, etc. We wanted a place where girls who were talented and smart, but maybe not the superstars or a little shy or needed time to grow, could develop their musical gifts in a nurturing but stimulating environment. The area we live in is so highly competitive that kids are under a ridiculous amount of pressure all the time. Do you know that even though I was able to teach and administer that program for only two years, 50% of our students went on to major in musical theater, theater or voice in college, and all of them continue to participate in their college or community musically by teaching or performing. One even went to law school to study arts' and entertainment law! I founded another unusual women-in-the-arts' organization in 1987 that still exists. So many of my career choices have seemed off-the-wall to my colleagues and even to me. Now I know why!!!!!! It appears to "go beyond" Moon/Uranus at the MC! (pun intended...) Amoroso

I want to add this for those of you interested in Native American traditions and spirituality--and then I will stop yacking, that the whale appears in my totem spread, as the animal that walks on my right. The animal that walks on your right protects your male side. The way I understand this is that each and every person has nine power or totem animals that represent the "medicine" they carry in their Earth walk. These animals emulate each person's abilities, talents and challenges.
In the book "Medicine Cards" by Jamie Sams and David Carson they write:
"Whale medicine people are coded in their DNA to understand that sound frequencies can bring up records in the memories of ancient knowledge. Many times they are not awakened to their gifts until it is time to use the stored records...Whale medicine teaches us to use the sounds and frequencies that balance our emotional bodies and heal our physical forms. Find your unique cry or call, and use your voice...."
Kim's post reminded me of this!!!

Ok, I am not finished yacking. Just reporting in, Kim, that Sedna is also sqaure my Sun in my progressed chart and trine Mercury.
Does anyone have time to check on her in relation to the devestation in New Orleans, Louisiana this week?

Interesting indeed ! I ´ve got Sedna very near my ascendant. The ascendant is at 0.59 Taurus and Sedna is found at 02:34 Taurus. I ´ve got my name astroid at 29.56 Aries and Amor at 27.14 Aries. Amor is opposing Vesta in the sixth house Libra, trining Neptune in the eight house. As you can see my name astroid + Sedna is sextiling my saturn (saturn conjuncts my moon), opposing my Uranus at the beginning of my 7th house, trining midheaven and squaring Venus (in my 11th house at 27.51 capricorn with Eros, Juno and Ceres), trining my north node in the 9th house at 27.40 sag.
