You're welcome, Zooloo. Your questions, interest and curiosity is wonderful. I wish I had more time to answer and dialog though I'm sure, with so many members and visitors here on the forum now, you will always find helpful insights and experiences. I know I do! I can give you some brief indications of the Fortuna and Vertex re composite and synastry. Read my article on the Vertex if you haven't yet. That will give you some mythology and a strong start with delineations. The Arabic Part of Fortune, although only one of many points or parts, has gained recognition in western astrology to the degree that most charts will feature the Fortuna. It is described as a point of joy, pleasure and success, a degree with a smile, a locale with a blessing. The Fortuna symbolically combines the Sun, Moon and Earth and touching this point means uniting the inner and outer world in the moment. If we honor our Solar and Lunar qualities, such a contact can feel great. In the composite char, it brings this to the area of life described by the house it falls in. Consider the myth of Vertumnus. (You can read it on my site under “Vertex: Has anyone seen Vertumnus?”) The Roman god Vertumnus has roots in the Latin word vertere, to change, turn or spin. Vertumnus was a lesser god of gardens, fruit trees and seasons. Youthful and alluring, he had the power to change himself into various forms, just as the seed changes from root, to branch to leaf to fruit. Vertumnus used this ability in his avid pursuit of the goddess Pomona. The theme of this myth centers on a seemingly chance moment where an outstanding event occurs. To Pomona, it was like an epiphany, a sudden turn of fate, a radical awakening of perception. To Vertumnus, it was at first a well planned strategy, then finally an act of spontaneous desperation. Imagine his surprise when Pomona finally received him! Love, relationship and union are highlighted here, not just in the desire of Vertumnus, but also in the story he told of the young man's rejection and the tragic consequences that followed. The imagery of the gardens, fruit and vine add to the feeling of ripeness, an event finally ready to happen, a fruitful experience. Planets on the Vertex by synastry or in the composite chartcan bring a feeling of fate, destiny, rightness (or wrongness) about each other. Seldom is it bland! Something about the contact has the ability to create profound change in each other, over a long or short period of time. The change may be perceived as pleasing or acrimonious, the conjunction often reflecting the former, the opposition the later. Kim

Dear Kim, thank you again for your thorough reply. I really like the way you are putting it all together. I always did like to read about mythology, and it sounds right to know the background first and go from it. I hope soon i will be able to contribute more to the forum. At the moment i am looking at so many horoscopes of the people i know trying to find if important events in their lives are shown in their charts. Like my grandmother was married three times and she does have uranus in the 7th to start with. Funny thing is that the man i fell in love with has the main points in his chart the same as my father, who did left a great wound in my heart. He died suddenly 10 days before my wedding, he was quite young - 51 and i was pregnant. the man i am love with is 50 now and they both have gemini rising, ruler of the 7th jupiter in third, pluto in third, neptune in fifth, and so on. I was wondering ( tribute to the sex and the city ) am i looking for my father ? how strange can it get...Funny thing is that in both synastries - with my father and my lover we share the same aspect , very tight my MC/fortuna on their Vertex in my 9th house..Could you comment?

Dear Zooloo,
I was so sorry to hear of your father's death and at that particular time of your life. What a path that must be for you and your whole family.
I wanted to let you know about my father and my husband. My father was an 8th house sun-sign Taurus, and we had a very intense, stormy, yet very loving relationship. He was an amazing man and was not only my father, but my primary influence as a mentor and teacher. In synastry, his Pluto is directly conjunct my Psyche.
Well, I've known for 25 years that my husband is in many ways like my dad, but it wasn't until I learned about Draconic charts on this forum that I learned that my husband Draconic chart shows he is an 8th house sun-sign Taurus!! And in synastry, his last name asteroid is directly conjunct my Psyche.
I do think there are patterns in relationships that we look for, consciously or not. It then becomes a question of what we do with that energy. Not always an easy journey, I well know.
Blessings, Amoroso

Hey Amoroso (Congrats on your own staff-TOO COOL my friend!)...I would love to learn more about Draconic charts. I read the posts when you and Kim mention them however, I am unfamiliar with which websites are the best for figuring out these charts. Would you have any suggestions per chance? I would appreciate your help greatly! Thanks!!
Hugs-

I do think there are patterns in relationships that we look for, consciously or not. It then becomes a question of what we do with that energy. Not always an easy journey, I well know. Oh boy, Father in relationship? Yes, yes, yes. The unresolved issues with the opposite sex parent are often seen enacted in the relationship with the lover and therefore, in the chart of the lover. Zooloo, your dad left you at such a vulnerable time in your life. The impact is still sending ripples through your life. Just to note, my dad had Moon at 23 Libra. My Neptune is 23 Libra. My first live-in boy friend of 5 years had moon at 23 Libra. My second live-in bf of 1 year had Moon at 24 Libra. My husband of 9 years had Moon at 22:59 Libra. A long distance affair of 4 years had Moon at 23 Libra. All these relationships had enormous Neptune themes (medical professions, hospitals, addicts, meditation, spiritual quests etc etc.) Now, if I see Moon anywhere near Libra I run! So what happens? The last few love interests over the years have had Moon between 20 and 24 Aries! What are the odds of such things? Synchronicity still confounds me! Kim

Gemstar,
I think the in the thread on Draconic charts Kim explains how to figure out from O Point Aries all your planets and asteroids. That's the only way to find out your Draconic chart unless you have a computer program to do it.
If you are still confused, maybe someone with the computer program can send you the chart if you send them your birth data. Anyone??
Blessings, Amoroso

Thanks Amoroso....I will check there-I had read where the Draconic starts with the Node...Sorry for interjecting the request on this thread...my best apologies!!! OOPS!
This thread however made me look up to see where my Father's chart planets/aspects may have played themes with my other relationships-as Kim highlighted as well as zooloo. Because I tend to like men opposite my father's traits, I am wondering if the oppositions may be a theme....I will look into that as well!
Thanks! GemStar

thank you all for your replays. i also think this is an interesting subject. from my chart i also tried to see if i can see some stuff about my father, and i think it works- rotating the chart. i assumed that he is represented by fourth house as his first. maybe i should of used the third or tenth but this seems to work. his eight house, my eleventh is in saggitarius and he did die abroad, and so on... there is an astrologer here in serbia who is particularly interested in pregnancy and she has the theory that the eight house is the house of first pregnancy. i met her recently and the first thing that she asked me when she looked at my chart was if anything bad happened during my pregnancy involving my father. i was really amazed. then the 10th house would describe the second pregnancy and so on. she published a book here called astro-mycroscope .if anyone would like to see any link about it, it is www.astrologyinserbia.com also available in english. i must say that most astrologers here are kind of less psychologically orientated and more exact which i dont like always, because it is against my common sense, but it seems to work in most cases....about my father again. i think i always tried to find someone with opposite behavior than he was, gemini rising he was a bit of a butterfly , cheating on my mother constantly . so my husband is very reliable kind of guy.but i always fall in love with exactly the type of man like my father was, witty, charming, non commitment type of man. who can tell what is in our minds..thanks again

Hi all, This Vertex thread has quickly turned to paternal patterns!
Gemstar, read up on the Draconic thread. You and Amoroso are both correct. In the Draconic Zodiac, the North Lunar Node turns to 0 Degrees Aries (the AP) and all planets and cusp follow suit from there.
We'll start a new thread if we want to go into it more now.
And oppositions? Oh my yes. Choosing the exact opposite is propelled by the same drive as searching for the "same". It's all part of being in the pattern...reliving the family myth!
More on this soon. Warm wishes Kim
