Fixed stars are absolutely fascinating! A truly archaic and deeply significant astrology. According to Bradys Fixed Star report, my cosmic rising star is Ankaa from the constellation of Phoenix. To always see the potential in people or places. "With Ankaa in such an important position on the day of your birth you will be a seeker. A person who explores subjects and people and then seeks to change then, or to transcend them. It is in this part of your life that you can truly change or alter things around you, not through force and action, but via insights that transcend."
She says this is the star that has been walking the path of the underworld and has now emerged to be visible in the world of humans. This star, the Heliacal Rising Star, is the star that you were born under and it will bear gifts to you from the land of your past, your family and your genetics. It is your gift, the jewel or the treasure, which your ancestors handed you at your birth. This star is a theme in your life; helps to build your philosophies, and can at times take on a vocational pulse.

Thanks for that Queensirius! Looking at the rising star is always significant. I have Regulus rising, the 'astrologers star' whcih always makes me smile! Brady has written extensively on this topic--I recommend her books! You can look up your Ascendant and MC degree to see what fixed stars fall there. I'd like to remind everyone that the ancient interpretations are sometimes a harsh reflection of the paradigm they were written in. For example, I have Algol on the MC and I have had nothing but support and strength from her in that department! This link is an excellent resource for finding important fixed stars: www.constellationsofwords.com/Fixedstars.htm Kim

I truly value her work and since I having my starlight report done a couple years back, I bought her Fixed Stars book. I understand 80% of the book but cannot grasp some of the technical stuff. I am looking to buy her new book Star & Planet combinations... hopefully I can get more of a description about what Ras Alhague on my angle/descendant implies. Also, all of the star parans in my prime are connected to the outer planets and therefore there is no interpretation. I do relate to the meaning of Ras Alhague as the Snake Charmer and healer ...... but dont quite understand its significance on my descendent....meanwhile it is not in paran to an planet only on my descendant. What books of Bradys have you read kim?
Regalus rising is certainly a powerful star, its one of the 4 royal stars of persia. The heart of the lion.... and connected to certain mysteries.
Thanks for the link Kim!

I redid my birthchart to reflect a more accurate birthtime and I've been thinking about fixed star Algol exactly on my new ascendant. If I believed all the gloom & doom I've read about Algol, and Medusa who is connected to it, I'd never go out the door! I'm firmly with those astrologers who are seeking to reinterpret Medusa for the modern age, to see her as a positive and powerful character, part of the re-emergence of goddess energy. Which is why, I suspect, she has such a terrifying reputation.
It's great to read Kim that you have Algol on your MC, and how supportive it has been. Now I've discovered how prominent it is in my chart, I'm inclined to go out and flaunt it! I've been told by healers that I've been afraid of owning my own feminine power, perhaps I always knew deep down that I had this energy available to me and have suppressed it because of the fear of others' reactions. No more. How people react is their issue, not mine!
That's a great link on fixed stars, Kim.
One thing has happened to me which may be connected to its prominent position, given Algol's connection with the neck and throat. A few years ago I had a serious illness involving my thyroid, which stopped me working for a year. It also did me the most enormous favour, by giving me time to re-evaluate, and abandon, a lifestyle which was becoming increasingly unsustainable.
I also have Uranus on Regulus - it's a generational thing I know, I have it in common with anyone born within a few months of me.
