Not exactly.
What I meant was, if someone's name asteroid is on your Pluto, then it is on everyone's Pluto born that year, so to make it personally, to find a more intimate link, I would look at your chart to see how Pluto 'finds a way in' for you. I would look at the house placement and any connection to Saturn (again generational) and if there are links to personal planets or points.
There is a big difference between being conjunct say an unaspected Pluto and conjunct Pluto on the IC square Moon Saturn.
Does that make more sense?

My name-asteroid will be conjuncting a friend's NN in his 7th house at the beginning of April. He's enduring a rough patch trying to come to terms with the end of an old relationship. I'm wondering if this would be an optimum time to be visible and help him move past his grief?
Newbie would love to hear thoughts of those further along the path!

Hey Zala, Welcome to the forum! Yes, it seems possible that your name asteroid transiting Friend's NN in 7 could coincide with you taking a more active role in his life. He may turn to you intuitively...though you'll need to be very aware of his vulnerability, and your own! Sometimes we do become more visible in people's lives to help them through something (and to help ourselves through something as well) and then when the healing's done, we move on, or they move on. If you can approach with 'no expectations, no assumptions' it might be quite mutually nourishing. Where is his name asteroid in your natal? transiting? Thanks for the post. Kim

Thanks Kim! I'm definitely looking for direction in how to help him best, that is, if I am allowed to..... I'm sensitive to the possibility that he respects my opinion, and I would not abuse the responsibility of lending whatever aid and comfort I can, if I am given the opportunity. It's one of the more difficult tasks in life to sit on the sidelines and watch a friend suffer through the agonies of spiritual growth, without wanting to jump right in there (my Mars in the 1st is showing ) and lend a hand or shoulder. My friend doesn't have a name asteroid, unless it's permissable to use a similarly-named asteroid and not exact, such as I'm fortunate enough to have ;D My name asteroid is conjunct his Mercury by 6 degrees, opposed his Psyche by an orb of 7, and sits right on his Sun/Venus MP (orb about 45'). My NN and Chiron are in his 7th -- from the beginning I felt a need to help. tKarma will conjunct his Chiron shortly, and I'm really curious what that presages..... It appears to me that he has clung to fond memories from the past without fully experiencing the grieving process and reaching acceptance, and I would be delighted to see him grow past these relationship(s) that have ended, so he can enjoy the present, and build for the future! Thx 1,000,000 'Zala

Hi Zala, Yes, one is ‘permitted’ to use the name asteroid that SOUNDS most like the person's name. Have a look and see what you can find. I have this problem as so far there are no asteroids names Kim or Falcon! But there is a Kimura etc... I know what you mean about wanted to much to help someone through a difficult time. You will have to trust the process though. There could be reasons for him 'not growing past' difficult relationships...we just never know with another person! Kim

Hi Forum,
The name asteroid connections involved in volatile relationships are also fascinating. Kelly squares my sister's Mars Pluto midpoint and Saturn Pluto midpoint. I've been quite patient with her but will be severing the relationship after my mom goes to the light. My psychic advised me to cut her out of my life, as shown by my sister's Kelly Atropos opposition.
On a more pleasant note, my brother became engaged when his fiance's name asteroid progressed exactly to his natal Descendant. The progressed asteroid will remain exactly conjunct the cusp for many years.

Thanks for that, Kelly.
It's a good point. Name asteroids can reflect difficult relationships or encounters as well as pleasant ones.

Hi Forum,
I just noticed she also has Chaos at AP, closely square Kelly. Thanks for responding, Kim.

This is really amazing! Just for fun, I plugged in some names. My mother's name comes up in Taurus which is actually her sun sign, and it squares my ascendant and Mercury. Indeed, we have never gotten along! Then, someone I like a lot has his name exactly on my Neptune, and conjunct my own name. My name is at the degree of my husband's Mercury. My husband's name is in my eight house, not aspecting anything (no surprise there), and my name in HIS chart squares both his Ascendant, his Descendant, and his Uranus.

Hi Forum,
I have more to add to Reply #8. Kelly was also exactly transiting my natal Jupiter at the time of the signing.
Does one also check the condition of the name asteroid's significator? Kelly's ruler is closely square Mercury, ruler of siblings and the chart's Norma, which is exactly opposite Pluto. I don't trust Norma, my half-brother's wife, not because of the chart but because of her past behavior. There is a no contest clause so I doubt she can successfully contest the documents. The chart might just reflect her attitude.
I thought you guys might find this fascinating.

Here I was talking about the significance of a name asteroid being tightly conjunct an outer planet in synastry.
I think the main point I was making was that if their name asteroid is on an outer planet, it's less 'personal' to you as 'everyone' born around your age has the same outer planet positions.
If, however, that outer planet aspects Saturn and a personal planet as well, it has more immediate and personal significants, Saturn being the 'ring past not'...the gateway, if you will.
So, if a name asteroid is conjunct Uranus, look to how Uranus is situated by sign, house and aspect. It will be particularly significant if that Ur in Le is in aspect to Saturn AND the sun, but yes, you would look at LEO and Solar qualities 'waking up' (suddenly, unexpectedly) when someone with that 'name' walks into your life!
Does that make sense?
Who has an example?

Hi Forum,
I just noticed my natal chart has Lie exactly conjunct the name asteroid of a close relative. The person managed to get on my credit card account and change the billing address without my knowledge. The company didn't send me the required notice to inform me of the address change request.
I also have my Black Moon Lilith conjunct the name asteroid of another dishonest relative.
Do others find such telling configurations in their charts?

An interesting note, two people I've been really drawn too both have their last name asteroids conjunct my south node. This stuff is fascinating!

A quick post to reopen this thread from last year, with an extraordinary find in name asteroids. I'm conscious I'm posting a lot, but I'm getting a lot of insights and wanted to share this one.
I don't have an exact name one for me, I use Jandl as it's the closest to my name "Jan". It's placed at 23.17 Libra. The exact surname asteroid for someone I have fallen headlong for is at 23.13 Libra. My Vertex is 29 Libra. There’s a very definite Eros connection there too.
When I use the Draconic chart, our name asteroids are conjunct in Gemini on the same degree as my ruling planet, Mercury. Finding that conjunction - well. It wasn't so much a "eureka" moment as a confirmation that there is a benevolent force guiding this attraction. I may never see this guy again. But there is some reason why I was drawn to him, and why we connected.
We didn’t speak, but maybe we weren’t meant to. The Sabian symbol for that degree is “Two people living far apart in telepathic conversation”.
It’s just hit me that “Jandl” is “J and L”. Thanks to Tom Jacobs I’m learning a great deal at the moment about Lilith and how to get in touch with that side of myself, which has been seriously repressed. Jan and Lilith – two people who have been living far apart, but are communicating with each other, at long last!
