I am defnately a Forum-Hog today.
I am interested in what others have experienced with Saturn in the first house in Horary. Anthony Louis, in his book "Horary Astrology Plain and Simple" says that Saturn in the first means things will not work out the way the Querant would like.
However, what if Saturn represents the Quesited or question asked, (Capricorn or Aquarius) and then appears in the Querant's first house?
Blessings, Amoroso

Hi Amoroso, This is an important question! When Saturn, or an outer planet, is in the first house, we need to see what or whom that planet rules and they say, "They are coming over to the querent to influence, help or dominate." We have to look at the aspects and the rest of the chart to get an idea of 'how' they will be with the querent. Older text feel that Saturn in the first damages the question/querent, especially if he is conjunct the Ascendant. This is definitely not always the case. Saturn as significator and in the first describes a person who is hard working, older (wiser?) serious, alone (if Saturn is not among other planets, which will be the case until around the time of Leo), pragmatic, strict, and mysterious (Obi wan from Starwars is a Saturn significator of this type...see what I mean? Hermit, potent, silent, doesn't waste words, powerful, mystical...) But sometimes it's just a grumpy old man or a needling teacher... How Saturn is places by decan and dwad is important. Right now he is at 4 Leo, in the sign of his fall (not great) but in the Virgo Decan (much happier here!). Get the idea? Ivy Goldstein Jacobson always said, "There is the Devil to pay in matters linked to the house where you find Saturn, and he always reaps a person of that house. If Saturn rules the quesited, then that person is going to 'take over' the question. Take authority. They will have something to 'bear'...something to carry. It won't be easy though it will seem necessary. And perhaps they will 'have the Devil to pay'... Does this help? KIm

Thankyou for that answer,
I've also been curious about Saturn in the first and how older texts interpret that... Seeing that I just asked a question which got a Saturn in the first, (being the 7th house ruler) It seems to happen almost every time I ask a question concerning my husband! Not always but the majority of the time.
With Saturn in the first house, and him being the 7th, the question IS really very much about him.
take care, and thanks for the question and the answer.
