HSC,
Thanks for posting the chart.
It's interesting to see how often Chiron contacts come up in synastry and composite charts. I think it says something different in both.
Remember that the composite chart is a THIRD entity, the chart of the relationship between two people. It has no beginning and no end, because it is not based on a 'birth time'...it is a set of coordinates that 'exists' and if a connection exists between two people, the composite tells us about 'what happens' when they relate.
So let's look at the Comp Sun trine Chiron. Liz Greene has written on this in her text "Relationships and How to Survive Them." I recommend this work for a deeper understanding of both composites and triangle dynamics (The eternal triangle).
Chiron in the composite can be quite literal. There can be a literal wound or limit that no matter how much the couple love each other and want to be together, it's always 'there'. Some limit, like a large 'distance' in time or space, responsibilities to children of another relationship, financial demands, illness, conflicts in professions etc. Something seems to 'wound' the relationship that isn't anyone's 'fault' but creates a limit non the less.
The Sun is the purpose of the relationship. It tell us something about what will created by being together and with Chiron there, something in the purpose of the relationship must 'carry the wound or limitation'. Something in the relationship ALSO gives the couple to AUDACITY to do so!
You have both the struggle and the power to face the struggle built in. The struggle may feel deeply personal to both, especially if they have a natal planet in aspect to Sun/Chiron in the composite. It may also be more 'social' in origin, like a couple coming together from divergent backgrounds that are both traditional and un-accepting of the relationship...or a couple that wants to have children and can not, or has very different ideas of childrearing than the culture they live in. Greene says "Both people may be hurt by the relationship, not because it is 'bad' but because there is something about the way the relationship 'sits' in the collective which limits its possibilities."
Something in the wound or limit or conflict then 'may' facilitate a healing in the individuals...if they have to courage to 'attempt'.
The fact that this composite has a trine between Su/CH suggests that there is greater acceptance of the conflict, though it doesn't make it any less painful.
Does this make sense?
Who has had Su/Chiron in their comps?
Comments?
Warmly, Kim

Several married couples I know of have very closely aspected Sun conjunct Chiron in their composites. I've noticed this long time ago, and remember thinking about it when I saw it, wondering about the meaning of this aspect in the composite, as it seems to be quite common.

Isn't Chiron healing as well as wounding? (I suppose there has to be a wound to heal...) And why do you think so many couples have these aspects? Is there something in the nature of a partnership that we seek because it helps us work on our own healing or our need to heal our relating nature? Curious what people think about this.

Thanks for the pointer, JadeII. I'll have to read that when I get a chance. But I did see it there on astro.com under her articles.

Hi 3rd house,
I really don't know what this means, but I noticed it in close relationships a lot. Both in composites and in synastry. I would say it has to do with healing more than with wounding, especially with so called "easy" aspects, perhaps people feel that they've met someone who they can trust and feel comfortable around, someone who perhaps understands their wounds and issues. In my relationship synastry I have Venus and Mars closely trine his Chiron, and his Sun, Moon and Mercury trine my Chiron. It felt comforting being around him, like a sigh of relief, "finally someone who understands" type of thing.
But generally, I don't know exactly, however, Chiron ties seem to be very common in close relationships. I've even observed the Magi society theory on many couples I know, and I did notice strong correlation with what they are saying....

Thank you, Kim, that was very helpful, and it does make sense.
