I have always thought that Juno exactly conjunct my sun/ moon midpoint in cancer in the fourth house is a significant point in my chart, but I've never been aware of meeting someone with any strong connections to it. Until now! I've met someone with a cancer moon exactly conjunct sun/moon mp and juno, I've never felt anything like it.. What worries me is that this probably goes one way? Unless my Juno exactly conjunct his moon counts for something...? And can I cope with the feeling of a constant transiting moon to my sun/moon mp.. I just feel extremely emotional!! (And I have a 0"04 scorpion moon, I'm already quite emotional...) My Saturn sextiles this point and Pluto squares it, I guess that should be added, 1 degr. orbs on those. Any thoughts would be much appreciated! I've read about Juno in other posts in this forum, it's an interesting asteroid to say the least! But I'm a bit scared of the impact of feelings I'm having.. Amoroso described Juno like this in another thread: "Juno differs from the other asteroid goddesses in her unwavering desire for marriage." I guess I understand how that effect might feel now...

Hi Tarion, This is an interesting topic. I’ve been thinking a lot about the Sun/Moon Midpoint myself lately. I have Amor there! The Sun/Moon midpoint is the ‘coniunctio’ of which Jung speaks, the inner marriage of the Animus and Anima…it is the culmination of the Opus, the great work, the integration of both the masculine and feminine aspects of the Self. The house and sign and aspects to the Su/Mo midpoint says something about this processes, how we approach it, what areas of life activate it, through what forces in life it manifests. In the chart, this midpoint is about marriage (the outer refecting the inner), relationships between men and women, partnerships, friendships and love. When someone activates it with a personal planet or transit, the desire for coniunctio, for union, awakens. Does it go “one way”? No. Nothing in synastry goes only one way. He wakes up your urge for union of the Animus and Anima, you wake up (among other things no doubt) his Moon. How you feel about union and how he feels about his inner life, his emotions, his Anima, his Mother his home, will influence how you feel about each other. Can you see this? Yes, Juno’s unwavering desire for commitment might be kicking in! Has anyone else had a synastry contact activating their Su/Mo midpoint. Juno? Let’s all explore this further. Thanks for the topic! Warmly, Kim

Oh gosh, where did I say that? It is not how I view Juno so I am hoping I was quoting someone else. I have heavy Juno contacts with my mother and sister-in-law and I have no desire to "marry" them, although they certainly are committed relationships.
But I know what you mean about that midpoint. My Sun/Moon m.p. is my husband's last name asteroid in synastry!
And in synastry with C., my Venus squares his midpoint and my MC trines it exact.

hi ladies. I know, it's been a while I know *blush* but my one overriding excuse (for the past month hehe) is that I am moving at the end of this week. so, humble apologies for any delays in replying lately. as to my sun/moon mp -- hmm, I've my juno EXACTLY square the thing! gosh, I hadn't even realized this! I've always thought of the saturn conjunction but that's about a 4deg orb so it's kind of wide, isn't it? my ex had his sun exactly sesquiquadrate my mp, and an earlier boyfriend's saturn squared it and his pluto opposed it. the man I am sort of interested in right now has his saturn square it and his sun in the same sign (not a conjunction though it sure feels like it!). my sun squares *his* sun/moon midpoint by a degree, btw. and when we met, transiting chiron was EXACTLY square his sun/moon mp and transiting venus was closely conjunct my sun/moon mp. transiting chiron and venus were in an exact parallel that day. so it does seem to me that this point is very important, at least in my chart. dar.

Kim, thanks for the feedback on sun/moon midpoint, really appreciate it! It's so interesting to feel connections to such powerful points in the chart, I knew we had to have some strong connection before I got his birthdata, and it really made sense when I finally got the data! It really wakes up my desire for union, and a feeling of possible "wholeness" somehow... Amoroso, sorry if I quoted you on something you actually didn't write yourself, but I just felt that it accurately described the feeling of my my cancer sun/moon mp with Juno, in fourth house! But I agree that Juno is more than that! Interesting experience with the sun/moon mp going both ways, Scorpymoon! I think I'm going to pay attention to the sun/moon mp in the future, but I guess you probably just "know" when you meet someone with a strong connection to it...

*raises hand*
I have a few composite charts that have elements which touch my sun/moon midpoint.. all at 11 degrees Leo (Sun in Cancer 10 degrees Moon in Virgo 12 degrees easy enough to calculate I guess)
Well then the synastry between my husband and I is.. his Anteros conjunct that point..
that major composite with the sun/moon opposition has the ASC/Jupiter and part of fortune all at 11 degrees Leo.. I don't know what to make of it... and things have been rather quiet.. but I don't really want to think about it..
I suppose its like the vertex in many ways... only not AS mysterious
take care,

Amoroso described Juno like this in another thread: "Juno differs from the other asteroid goddesses in her unwavering desire for marriage.Actually guys, I said that but if you check out the context, you'll see that I was speaking of the Mythological Juno, not the astrological. Because Juno was described that way by the ancient Greeks doesn't mean that is only how she is. The pre-Hellenistic Juno was quite different. Anyway, in the chart, she seems to be strongly about commitment, not necessarily marriage!! I hope this clears that up! Kim

Welcome, Gaia--love the name!
Kim, that is an interesting question posed by Svenskasfinx--astrologically, could points on the composite chart trigger midpoints?
I looked at the natal sun/moon midpoints between my husband and me and our composite. Nothing on that sun/moon midpoint.
But with C, our composite moon sits on my natal sun/moon midpoint, and our composite sun sits less than one degree from his Sun/Moon midpoint. I guess, like Svenskasfinx, things are quiet right now and maybe I should stop thinking about it.
But it does make interesting astrology!
Blessings, Amoroso

And, welcome Gaia. It's nice to have you on the forum! Everyone, please grab your Mars and Aries and start any thread you like. It's good to be brave and chances are, whatever you post is on somebody else's mind as well! Gaia, I think you are referring to the "near midpoint" and the far or directly opposite midpoint. I think it's very interesting that it touches on the synastry Asc/Desc line. Very significant. There is a kind of energy passing between you two that awakens and vitalizes, especially in that you have the "new Moon" conjunction. I think it's fine to keep this thread going with all contacts to the Sun/Moon midpoint, angles, planets, transits, progressions...you name it. I'll post an example myself when I have more time! All these comments are great! Warmly, Kim

Kim, that is an interesting question posed by Svenskasfinx--astrologically, could points on the composite chart trigger midpoints? Yes, absolutely, Amoroso. Just keep it going from composite to natals, including midpoints, progressions etc. The only place I would draw the line it if you wanted to work out composite midpoints. The composite chart (or relationship charts) are already based on Midpoints. I don't think dividing them up further is that helpful. You can certainly see an activation from comp planets or angles back to midpoints though, yes! Kim

Scorpy Moon,
Now why haven't I heard that phrase "urge to merge" before? What a great reason to rhyme!

I just did a composite chart for me and my partner, the composite chart Sun is at 29 degrees 22 and my natal Juno is at 29 degrees 20, I imagine this conjunction is quite significant but I read somewhere that 29 degrees is also a critical point. Can anyone here enlighten me as to what this means?

Dear Anitaw,
Anything at 29 degrees of a sign means that with time and wisdom in one's life, that aspect is about to change, or roll over, into another sign and degree.
I have 29 degree Libra for an ASC and 29 degree Aries for DESC. That puts practically my whole first house in Scorpio and 7th house in Taurus. I would characterize my outer "mask," as definately Libran with a huge aggressive thrust towards others, but as I grow, and especially coming up to my 49th birthday, I am displaying more and more a hidden outer nature and more stable, sensual approach to one-on-ones. Which is pretty amazing if you follow my story on Kim's forum.
Hope this helps.

And I, like Amoroso, also have a 29 degree Ascendant (Leo) which makes the Descendant 29 Aquarius. Yes, it is considered a critical degree and has a restless feeling, as if something is about to change. It’s a bit like a planet on the cups of a house. It’s energy is leaving the one area and looking forward, anticipating the next! You can have a strong identification with the sign (it’s a whole 29 degrees into it) but it is always in a different decan and the “shadow dwad”, the dwad that represents the 12 sign from the first. In Amaroso’s case, that’s the Gemini Decan and the Virgo Dwad (both Mercury ruled) and in mine it’s the Aries decan and the Cancer dwad.(Mars and Moon) You can see inherent challenges in these combinations for any 29th degree. I think, Anitaw, that your natal Juno would be activated by the relationship—not by him per say, but by what the two of you are together. Does this make sense? Warmly, Kim

it so turned out he had sent me a huge message at the same time I was dreaming he was Wow, ScorpyMoon, that's remarkable. You are tuning into him massively. I love these kinds of things! if synastry planets act like "permanent transits" activating this midpoint energy, what can we say about the Asc-Dsc axis in terms of how it activates or interacts with the MP energy? Does it work like planets, or does it have a more distinct quality about its own workings? Gaia, in synastry, when one person's planets or points fall on the other's Ascendant/Descendant axis, you have a kind of activation of that person's angles. The energy can flow both ways (as if a channel is formed between you two) and you get that kind of zesty, buoyant, first house feeling, like something is really waking up. There is a push towards initiation and action. (think of the natural ruler, Aries). There is an adventure waiting and when you are around this person, you want to get moving. Because it is mutual, it goes both ways quite strongly, each of you firing up the others inspiration and impetus to "get a move on"... You have to consider also where the actual sun and moon activate the synastry. The Su/Mo is just one point, though I think if a couple are together long enough (sometimes that is a mere hour or two) it really starts to work., Does this make sense? Warmly, Kim
