I think, I read here somewhere on the board, that if someone`s natal planets conjunct your Adonis, he or she would be enthralled with you. I hope I remember that right. Darkdreamer

Hi searose,
Since I got familiar with Adonis (through this site), I always look it up in synastry between couples. And I've noticed something really interesting. It is always very strong, exactly conjuncting personal planets (especially the Sun and Venus) in couples that are spellbound, magnetised with one another. It is always an exact conjunction, but I was surprised how often I saw it, even when there were no aspects between Venus and Mars, or Eros etc. There is definitely something to it, it does look like that people that have strong Adonis conjunctions are absolutely enthralled with each other. My friend recently met her "love of her life", and besides some other good aspects, they have an exact Venus (her) - Adonis (him) conjunction. The same with Charles and Camilla. I have exact Sun-Adonis and Vertex-Adonis with my "enthralled" (don't know how meaningful the Vertex one is though). It does look to me that Adonis is a very strong attraction, maybe someone else has more examples of the same...

Hi Lubenica,
I`ve also noticed that Adonis seems to play a role in those spellbound attractions. But I can`t completely agree that it is always exact. I`ve also found slightly wider orbs with Adonis, but in most cases it is quite close. And in my findings there was a lot of Moon-Adonis-interaction, but maybe that`s just a personal thing for me. I did a little research on couples I know and even looked at some celebrities.
In the comparision of a gay couple there is a conjunction of Adonis with Mars and Vertex by 1°. In the case of my parents my dad`s Adonis is conjunct my mum`s Mars by 2°, and they are still quite enthralled with each other, after 32 years of marriage! my best friend`s Adonis conjuncts her husband`s Midheaven by 2° and his Adonis exactly conjuncts her Vertex (I think this is important). Another friend of mine, who stated to have found her Twinsoul, doesn`t have Adonis-conjuncts to this man. But they have a mutual exact Adonis-Moon-trine. The man I`ve been fascinated with has his Moon opposite my Adonis. And his Adonis is opposite my Chiron (yes, I know those are no conjunctions, but maybe they still have an effect).
The two celebrities I checked were Jude Law and Orlando Bloom. My Adonis exactly conjuncts Jude Law`s Moon. His ADonis only squares my Moon. My Adonis also conjuncts Orlando Bloom`s Moon by 3°. And his ADonis conjuncts my Venus by 0°. Well, this is a sensitive spot, since it sets free his Mars, Mercury conjunct my Venus and square my Pluto. Ouch! Those 6° Capricorn are quite tricky for me. Actually Jude Law has his sun close to it. I really seem to have an inner radar to feel drawn to men, who hit this sore spot of mine.
But to come back to the the topic; yes I definitely think Adonis is a good hint in synastry for those magnetic attraction.

Hi Darkdreamer,
Yes, you are right, it doesn't have to be exact, I mean your 2 degree orbs are still very, very tight. Great examples you have there! I meant to say (which I think is more accurate), they are almost always conjunctions, and occassionally oppositions. I do belive that these are the strongest aspect as far as asteroids are concerned. Actually, I was inspired by your examples, and had a look at my sister and her husband, who don't have classic major attraction synastry indicators, but it was major enthrallment, particularly from her side. His Mars conjuncts (2 degrees) his Adonis. I find Adonis really interesting, unlike Uranus "electricity", Pluto's "magnetism", Mars "sexual attraction" it seems to me that Adonis spells this pure enchantment, like being totally spellbound, even if the person is not "objectivelly", if such thing exists, the best looking person that ever lived. I will keep an eye on it (Adonis) when I look at synastries, it does turn up more often then I though would be the chance. I remember there was this guy, as soon as I saw him, I couldn't take my eyes of him, he was charming, enchanting, charismatic at the same time. I didn't fall in love with him, nor was interesting in any type of relationship, but I still remember that he left this strong impression on me, you know when you just have to look at someone. Well, I don't know his birth data at all, but after all this talk, I am almost sure that his Adonis played strongly with my personal planets, such was the enchantment. And perhaps Vertex is significant. It just occured to me that it is such "time sensitive" point, it changes so quickly, that if someone's major planet or asteroid falls on it very closely, it must be significant. Regards, L.

Well, I think you two are on to something! My ex's adonis is 9 scorp. my sun is 9 scorpio, my adonis is 6 scorp. and my eros is 13 scorp, mt true node is 10 scorp and our composite mercury is 6 scorp, i always thought and still do that he is the sexiest man alive and his voice was the sexist voice I've ever heard, I know he feels that same way too about me, he always reminded me of a greek god when I saw him, so I guess adonis is spellbinding, his saurn(his chart ruler is 18 scorp. but I guess that doesn"t count.

Well, it was really Kim and this wonderful forum that worked it all out. I just picked up the idea, did some of my own research, and WOW, there it was, really strong contacts in strong infatuations. It really is like seeing a Greek God, or Godess, totally bewithcing. So, thanks to Kim and this forum, always learning something new....

what about adonis in the natal chart?
I keep looking up all these asteroids and my natal adonis is in libra, the 5th house, conjunct uranus/sun/mercury.

i'm curious to know more about people's experience with adonis. i've noticed that it definitely seems to have a strong role in every relationship in my life where there's that "spellbinding" quality, whether felt from one towards the other, the reverse, or mutually. curiously, the one contact with the most potent effect on me towards another is with an exact conjunction of his saturn on my adonis. his beauty completely mesmerizes me... can't imagine a man being more beautiful. and there's some element of instruction in this connection... a sense of evolving on my part into a something more beautiful to look upon. i wonder if saturn on adonis could be described as a sort of pygmalion aspect... anyone else have feedback on that? interestingly, wikipedia says that "pygmalion" may be a cypriot version of adonis!

My beautiful man has his Adonis about 1/2 degree past my Ascendant. He definitely does IT for me! YUMMY! We have a lot of other potent contacts between our charts and also in the composite. Not sure how much credit to give Adonis.

Hi everyone,
I'm not a statistician but there seems to be something to this. A relative's Adonis is trine his wife's Sun while her Adonis is closely trine his Sun Venus conjunction. These aspects and his Jupiter trine her Sun may shed light on why he has tolerated so much abuse during their 31 year marriage.

i noted this in another thread here last year, but i had two girlfriends with their peles (ast. 2202, hawaiian vocano goddess- the forces of the earth personified) on my adonis, at 29 libra (where the sun is today, in fact). there was a kind of spellbinding quality that i didn't have a vocab for, but...in time i got it.
my adonis is a degree off my scorpio ceres in the 1st, these are conjunct mars-uranus in late libra in the 1st, square the nodes. so, my adonis is, as i understand it, wrapped up in the mothering energy that's tied into the "give me space or else" of that mars-uranus, so the experiences of those two women, both of whom were very open about their attraction to me (and not afraid of getting close), was new, or on a new level. also, my anti-vertex is at 2 scorpio, so when someone touches this combo off, there can be a real pull.
